Hello everyone.
I arrived to this wonderful community a couple of years ago with a question about how to integrate an amplifier for speakers into a Schiit ecosystem (link).
Based on the help that I got I purchased a SVS Prime Wireless Pro Soundbase as an amp (specs) and two KEF LS50 (specs) to pair it with. I also have a Mivoc Hype10 (specs) as a subwoofer.
From Schiit, I got a Magni Heresy, a Modi and a SYS, and I hooked everything with the amp in a way that I could listen to music through the speakers but if I hooked my headphones to the Magni it would be redirected to them. I mean, SYS to MAGNI and Modi hooked to the computer.
I am almost positive that the very first time I tried the system I could volume up the amp to very loud levels with no problem, but yesterday I tried to do the same, and at mid volume level the speakers started to distort and I got worried.
Before I start plugging and unplugging, do you think the Schiit system is messing things up? I'm not an expert by any means, and I could even be messing up the amp/speakers specs regarding impedance and power, so I apologize in advance. I could swear it worked in the beginning, but because this was 2 years ago now I'm not 100% sure. Maybe it was this way from the beginning, or maybe something broke and I don't know if it could be my Schiit system, my amp or my speakers.
What do you guys think? Could be Schiit distorting my speakers?
Thanks
