Yup, got it this summer just for Euro Cup / Copa America and Summer Games. Ready to deplug after (or even before the Olympics if Peacock holds up)

Yeah at worst they’ll just confiscate your liquor. Doubt they’ll go through all that paperwork and protocols to prosecute a minor that was able to get it legally overseas

Yeah you’re good, I brought back 9 bottles of Japanese whiskey earlier this month — some in a SAGAWA box.

Passed through LAX and I didn’t spot a customs agent on my way out after baggage claims (although I think they’re using facial recognition now). At JFK I would normally speak to an agent before leaving.

Japanese whiskey, especially if you have access to Costco. Got a bottle of Suntory Chita and Kirin Fuji for $65 USD, retails in the US for over $200

Definitely no kiosk. But the volume of eaters was so high that I can’t see how they could accommodate it. There was nothing less of 50 customers in the queue.

Organized chaos would be the best apt term

Tokyo DisneySea.

Uninformed haters will tell you it’s just another Disney park — but theme park enthusiasts know it as a unique local operation that’s unmatched in guest experience and attention to detail.

People like to crap on Laredos on Google Maps, but if you can find a reliable location, nothing hits harder per dollar capita.

A FedEx driver did the same with Google Nest packages I purchased last Christmas. Logged it as delivered and just took off.

Anecdotal of course but it was still FedEx.

Yakiniku Like — apparently it’s owned by Gyu Kaku

OP have you ever traveled abroad? Like Japan or Europe? Or visited domestically in cities like NYC?

Guessing you’re raised in the suburbs somewhere in the US?

The MET in NYC does this essentially. $30 USD required admission — years ago, visitors could pay what they wanted.

Now you have to show a Tri-state ID to pay what you wish.

Did the same: Solo trip in 2008, met a companion in every city. Wonderful experience.

So starting a new blog in 2024 is pretty pointless then?

I went to USJ the Tuesday just after Golden Week and it was an absolute blast.

Nintendo World was open to everyone by 4pm, Harry Potter had 15 min queues in the evening , and the employees were just as enthusiastic as those from DisneySea. Demon Slayer blew my mind.

Some rides had long waits, which I offset with Express Pass 4. Couldn’t have asked for a more better time at USJ

I was this cynical when I had a similar opportunity in finance early in my career.

Ditched it to pursue tech startups, regretted it later and made the jump back.
