Honestly I wouldn’t recommend moving here. I grew up and graduated from Allen and now live in Austin. The best thing about Allen is the schools, it’s a good district but nothing compares to the education your kids get in Washington. I’m not sure if you are aware of the politics down here but vouchers are about to get pushed down our throats and our public schools have been deprived of funding for years. I work with/for all of the school district in Texas. Next year is going to be one of the worst years, as not only our districts, are not being funded, but with the new property tax cut this also is really cutting on school funding as they’re only way to get any funds right now is by passing bonds. Lastly if your kids love sports and are not tip top athletes they will never play.
Aside from that Allen is suburban hell and the people suck. Most of them got lucky buying a house/land when Allen was just crops. Now that’s blow up they suddenly have money and feel entitled.
How is this not a code violation? It’s bs that the City of NB says nothing can be done because it’s private property. I had an issue similar to this is Austin. Called code enforcement and was out of my place in less than 6 wks without any penalties because the place would not bring itself up to code.
