Who pays the DMC?Education

Hi travel agents,

Out of curiosity, when you use a DMC in destination, do you pay the DMC or is it your client who pays them and DMC wire you your commission afterwards?

Thanks!

How do I grow my business without having my staff poaching my clients Question

Hi all -

I started a travel agency a year ago. I deal with travel advisors abroad and basically they outsource their trips to me in the country where I live. On top of trips, I now operate also as a conciergerie from high net worth clients. I got several referrals recently so it's become very tricky to handle all requests promptly. Therefore I want to hire someone to support me. However, I want to avoid that this staff member at some point leaves me to start his own business and steal some of my clients or potential future clients. What I do require a certain expertise on the country where I live but overall, anyone with a bit of business acumen and basic skills can do it. There's no investment in assets, software, etc. needed.

Therefore, the one million dollar question that I've been asking myself is: how can I hire someone who will not leave me after a few months/years and start competing against me?

Overall I think this applies to many business of intermediation/services.

Curious to know your take and any similar case.

Many thanks!

Cherbourg: le vent, la pluie, 22 degrés au mois d’août, une fête foraine au milieu de la ville, et des barres d’immeuble années 70… sauve qui peut !

Out of curiosity how tall are you and what is your inseam? I’m wondering about the S size. Thank you!

Which is the peak (and the slowest) booking month?Beginner

Beginner here. Out of curiosity, what are the 2 months where you get the most requests and the 2 months with the least booking requests? Here I’m interested in knowing when clients are reaching out to you, not when they are traveling.

Thank you!!

Nice one! Which size is it, and how tall are you?

Thanks for your feedback. How did you turn the stem? is it the same bike as mine?

yes, reach feels a bit far. Maybe because I'm not used to this posture and lack flexibility. It feels that I need to push myself forward a bit to reach the bars...

Canyon Grail cf sl 7 - In between sizes IMO - what do you think based on my posture?

I just got my grail cf sl 7 delivered. I was in between S and M, but closer to M. I am 181.5 cm, 85.8 cm inseam. But it feels that the bike is slightly too big. What do you guys thing? Thanks!

Recommendations for places from mid October to mid December Question

I’m in my early 30s (M), looking for a warm place to avoid the gloomy European late Autumn. I’m not looking for a backpacking kind of place as I’m not in my 20s anymore, and am working :) I don’t really mind the budget, I’m looking for a warm place ideally by the sea but not necessarily, with the possibility to engage in outdoors activities and meet like minded people. Cheers!
