For some reason, the hardest part of Chernobyl to watch was when they had to get rid of o all the pets. Oh, that poor man is slowly dying because his insides have cooked and his cells are dying instead of splitting normally? Yawn. Oh no, they had to shoot that poor puppy dog! :(

Yeah, well, you should remember that they did absolutely route us in the NFCC game on the way to an SB win in ‘91-‘92. When I say “remember”, I don’t actually mean remember watching it, because I don’t. I was in kindergarten. I’ll be 40 in a few years.

I would assume it’s for added capacity. If one of those conductors isn’t big enough to serve all load, you can either put in bigger conductor or short together multiple conductors. The lines have shorts down the whole length, so I assume it’s just for added capacity. This is pretty common on transmission lines in the US, but I’ve usually seen multiple conductors shorted together, but on one insulator per phase. I haven’t seen something like this on a distribution system, but I’m sure it exists. Where I work, some of our older stuff is two strands of smaller conductor wrapped and clamped together. I’m surprised the tweekers haven’t found a way to steal it, because it’s all copper.

Edit: the shorts make it effectively one conductor.

This is so dumb. That was some of the best basketball I’ve seen. Highest TS% for playoffs ever. 12th fastest pace, 13th lowest FT/FG ratio, 16th lowest TOV%. No home court advantage for anyone and the Lakers would have had home court advantage in every series.

I am in no way a Lakers fan, but this is an absolute braindead take from people who are just haters or who don’t know anything about basketball.

If you pause at the 0:18-0:19 part of the video, you can see that the separate wires are shorted together. This would mean that it’s a single phase with three conductors. If these were 3 separate phases, it would have shocked the monkey when he came in contact with 2 and it definitely would have arced when the wires got twisted.

They might look better with a foot in them. I assume the fabric part is supposed to be form-fitting. I thought there was a Weimaraner involved in this photo shoot at first

Richard Sherman played WR in college, before switching to CB. He had a pretty good career, during which, you should not have tried him with a sorry ass receiver like Crabtree

They are the people who own Shen Yun. They are billboard kings in LA

I work with a Cuban guy who says the “illegals” shouldn’t come here if they’re not willing to go through the process the right way. His parents came to America in the 60s and were automatically granted political asylum just by showing up.

My dog is afraid of almost everything, but she doesn’t seem to care about fireworks. It’s pretty weird. She not def or anything. I consider myself one of the lucky ones

I was in the Navy and a bunch of dudes had “taxation is theft” bumper stickers and coffee mugs. It’s like, who do you think pays you? How was this aircraft carrier paid for?

The second comma is correctly used, since it’s between adjectives describing the same noun (“and” would also be acceptable). That is more of a point of style/preference. The first comma is flat-out wrong.

I made a cherry-limeade thing.

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz Cherry Heering
  • 1/2 oz Cocchi Americano
  • 1/4 oz grenadine
  • 3 cherry, muddled

Shake, double strain, collins glass, top with sparkling water/club soda

If you plug it in hot to hot and neutral to neutral, nothing will happen. If you plug it in hot to neutral, it will trip the breaker/blow the fuse, or melt/light on fire if there is too high of a trip setting on the breaker or too big of a fuse in the fuse box.

You can buy pre-sliced grocery store bread in the US that doesn’t have any added sugar in it. It’s pretty much the bottom-tier white breads that are sweet like that. I haven’t eaten that in at least 15 years. I eat PB&J on wheat bread.

I’ve been shoving glass rods in my pee hole for years now, and I’ve never seen anything this looks like this. Should I call my doctor?

This is unfair. He definitely held up his end of the bargain, he spilled plenty of food on himself, thank you very much
