I remember that video, and the main wall is standing in the video (not well). Crazy to see how fast it's deteriorated.
Daaamn, three years in prison for a police chase.
QuikrStuff is "better", but you pay out the ass for it. Love my 1up.
I've been researching hard for used Ripleys the last few weeks. There are some deals out there.
Hey, 43 here and have been deeply obsessed with mountain biking for about a year and a half. The level of fitness I have now compared to when I started is astronomical. I can do 2500'-3000' of climbing on a casual ride now. I'm spending more time in the air and getting closer to my dream of a real BRAAP corner. You WILL hurt yourself at some point, but you have to know 1) it's temporary and 2) wear protection (I ride full-face and light body armor every time).
The guys I ride with are all over 50 and they absolutely smoke me embarrassingly. The best guy is 56 and he's fitter than I ever was in my 20s-30s. Get out there and ride!
SCOTUS ruled presidential immunity ... that they decide. Biden wouldn't be able to do shit because SCOTUS would magically decide his acts aren't in the process of his duties.
Cool. This doesn't sound at all like anything happening in the US right now. Cool cool cool.
Seriously, thank you for such a great answer. Now I'll go stress about Ripley vs Ripley AF and if the extra couple of pounds really matters lol
I went with the Airflex Stealth (on sale) and have ridden wearing it 95% of rides since. Absolutely recommended. It's definitely saved me a few times since! The burlier 3DF Airfit Evo would be better protection, if you'll wear it as often. I was trying to find the compromise between protection and something I would reach for every ride.
Hey, this is random, but found your comments while googling around.
The Evil Following is roughly in the same category as the Ibis Ripley, and the Evil Offering is roughly in the same category as the Ibis Ripmo.
I'd like to go Ripley or Following, but am having a hell of a time deciding. Any advice?
I demoed an Ibis Exie at the Mountain Bike Oregon festival last week and I had way, way more fun on that bike than my usual slacked-out enduro. It made me realize that maybe I need a true XC/trail bike.
Yo, tell me about that mount. I, too, have a chonky Sofirn I want to mount to the bars.
The festival was 3 days of some of the most fun I've ever had. Can't wait to do it again.
Ah, poop. The 245 is really underpowered :( I've never gotten it to load a Trailforks map either.
Appreciate this! This helps.
Following -> Ripley
Offering -> Ripmo
Got it. This is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm also looking at the Transition Spur, which fits more into the Following/Ripley solidly "trail" bike.
That helps! I'm still trying to dial in what I need. I'm demoing as much as I can.
Talking Heads. I just don't get it, but I appreciate their contributions.
Hey, kind of random, but I'm looking hard to buy an Offering soon. I'm demoing one next weekend and have been looking for deals. Anything I should know? It's either an Evil Offering or an Ibis Ripley, either way I want the climbing efficiency and don't necessarily need the huge travel of a "full enduro".
Just go man.
Buy an inexpensive bike to start so you can figure out what you like. Polygon is a great first, cheap, full-suspension bike.
Dude, demoing an Exie at the Mountain Bike Oregon festival a couple weeks ago is what made me immediately realize my current bike (Polygon T8) isn't right for me. I tried to find the sweet spot between the Exie and the T8, and landed on the Ripley AF. I pick it up Saturday.
The next 12 months will be a great time to buy a bike
