![the way I wired this should be illegal but here’s the sax board 😈](https://preview.redd.it/h7cau2kcnoxa1.jpg?auto=webp&s=f11ac3bd0404c3acb35931ce03bfa3584a32e67e)
ran through everything quick here, please tell me it sounds like ass, I’m playing everything wrong and that I need to buy another $1000 of pedals I’m ready 😈😈😈
I’d definitely definitely try both and see, I want to say yes for sure why not. First thoughts are that you gotta watch out for feedback from your mic/amp setup and you’d have to lug an amp to gigs, but you’d be completely in charge of your own sound which rocks. And with the DI box you might want a clean boost at the front of your chain just to juice the signal for sure. Ngl though I learn like a rat in a cheese maze so I can only tell you what has/hasn’t worked for me. Never tried running through an amp and I bought a DI box in a McDonald’s parking lot that I’m 99% sure is broken, so I can’t say for sure. Hope it works though
this post is for youuuuuuuu if I do anything good here it is to tell you my troubles
ok so problem 1 2 3 and 4 is that our shrimp mic signal isn’t strong enough to properly make it through peds, so we need to jack up the signal strength by converting mic —> line level. Any preamp pedal that can go XLR in to 1/4 inch out is our friend, and most people use an Eventide Mixing Link, Radial VocoLoco or Zorg Blow (made for horns) to do this. I use the Splyce by Templo Devices — insaaanely small and way more affordable than anything else I’ve seen. However you mic your horn, you can pop an XLR through that and you should be golden.
As for miking horn I use the NUX B-6, which is also super affordable, also ridiculously small. Grip it and rip it for gigs, sounds real good, easy to use, highly recommend.
Also: Horn FX is like the one website that has any info about pedals with horns and I’ve consumed everything on it. Sick spot for me to learn about effects without bothering my guitar player every two seconds, also highly recommend.
ok that’s it i hope this helps!!! I was a terror at gigs for like a year figuring this out. Now sound people love me, my bandmates want to be me, life is good.
mostly R&B/funk, I’ll check that out sounds wicked
ngl it’s my guitar player’s, he’s got my VE-20 though so we’re even
Yeah what’s good with internal mics? getting rid of drum bleed would rock
With the pitch I use the detune for a fat tone thing or just throw on 5ths and octaves depending on the situation, I just hate messing with knobs on stage so I kinda play it like a bonehead
looping would rock
just ran to check him out holyyyy he’s demented
reeeeally cool use of dirt, I’m gonna try pushing the deco saturation and see if I can get anything like that
if people are into i can upload something today 🫡
update: I’m a bum I’ll demo tmrw
