What manager got the best out of you? There was a period under Zola in which you looked unplayable at times. I mean that in a good way, not unpickable! πŸ˜…

I've been following the Nationals since around Stephen Strasburgs debut, so a good 15 years or so. That was when the idea of a .500 season was the dream. And now it is again!! Full circle! Not many Baseball fans here in the UK but the London Stadium thing is well attended. I went to the Yankees - Red Sox game a few years back. Great fun!

What a tired clichΓ©... I wish not to concede 5 goals regularly, I wish to have some clean sheets, I wish to enjoy a football game occasionally. He'd have been sacked from any other club by now. Regardless, the point the OP makes is correct - he deserved a classier send off.

Not for me. He could be my Dad and I'd still say time to go. We are a broken side. Fresh eyes needed on the problem, fresh ideas, and a unified staff. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

I do not feel this way at all, but I appreciate the view of all Hammers βš’οΈ

In this scenario I would hope that a new manager playing in a way the Paqueta prefers, with new players that Steidten has brought in, would alleviate some of our magnifico's problems. Here's hoping...

On top of not very exciting, we've won 4 in the last 22, and conceded 63 goals in 34 league games. We've conceded 3 or more goals in a game more often than getting a clean sheet. We've been well and truly battered on numerous occasions. He has run out of credit.

Well, I had a fabulous hour or so thinking about how amazing this would be. It was nice to feel so positive about West Ham and football once again albeit for that brief brief period. Normal service is resumed πŸ˜‘

What a fucking idiot. Ridiculous booking 20 minutes into the game πŸ˜‘

Yes, Cresswell against Frimpong is unworkable; that doesn't mean we won't be seeing it πŸ˜‚

We do carry a threat so there is always a chance. I'll have my fingers crossed for no key player suspensions for the 2nd leg (and a fit Bowen).

I'm sure Moyes will partner Soucek and JWP in the middle, rather than pushing JWP ahead of Paqman.

I see you have Johnson at LB. I'm not sure what to do with our full backs, but I am near petrified we will have Cresswell and Coufal up against Grimaldo and Frimpong.

I seem to be swinging back and forth between "we can do it!" to "we are utterly doomed!" with no middle ground. Actually, I'm like that for most games πŸ˜…

Areola must be up there. West Ham would be about 16th without him this season!

Do you think the same incident, if it occurred in the other box with Phillips trying to shoot, would be a penalty to West Ham? I think so. For me a foul is a foul and it shouldn't be situational. Gordon effectively trips Phillips without touching the ball.

Regarding your question about how to write the rules to make this clear, I have no idea!! It has been fascinating to see the divide between those adamant it was a foul by Philips and those who say it wasn't. For me, it may just be the worst VAR call of all time (in a tough field). That's football I suppose.

If it happened in the other penalty area would you not think that would be a penalty for Phillips? Gordon misses the ball and effectively trips Phillips as he would be taking a shot. I suppose I'm at the other end of the spectrum to you, I can't see how Newcastle was given the penalty. Still miserable about now πŸ˜…

If that was in the other box and Phillips was trying to shoot it would be a penalty to West Ham for a trip. Gordon misses the ball and impedes Phillips: Foul, and penalty to West Ham. Why then is it magically the other way round because it's in Newcastle's box?? This is the straw that broke the camels back for me. Football in England is broken.

I know it seems like sour grapes but I've had enough. I personally can't take it anymore. Cancelled my sky sports. I'm sure I'll get suckered back in, and I will watch the Bayer games, but in general I've had enough. For my mental health I need to stay away from it. I'm quite a scientific type person, and ordered etc, so seeing such inconsistency and mind numbingly illogical decisions week after week has broken my will to watch πŸ˜‘

Saw a forward come on for us in the 90s, Alex Bunbury. I had high hopes but was ultimately disappointed!
