On #9- I think that someone who knows how to communicate based on what they know is better than memorizing everything, but not being able to flow.

For example, I make tons of vocabulary and grammar mistakes, but my teacher says that it’s easy to understand me because I know to relay the general message, even if it’s riddled with errors. I hope to get rid of the errors, but in the meantime it’s nice to be understood

Dumb question- wouldn’t that keep skunks away? We spray peppermint oil as a skunk repellent, so it seems like mint plants would be good too, right?

(Asking on behalf of my dog…)

In America people say this, but then we have shows like Southpark, Family Guy, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia that use incredibly offensive jokes and we celebrate it. I think what’s really happening is that the spirit behind these jokes is coming through. If it’s obvious that you don’t actually believe homophobic things, but then make homophobic jokes, people give you a pass.

Yeah, I don’t know. I used to daydream about a couple of teachers in 8th grade. I honestly don’t know.

There’s two narratives. As a dude, my first reaction is always “damn, lucky kid. I would have killed to bang her when I was 13.” But the second narrative is that this is wrong and he will face years of therapy to help him overcome the abuse. As badly as I want to be a mature and rational adult, the first narrative is super curious and the reporter wants to feed into that.

“Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday said he was drawing up a "comprehensive plan" for how Kyiv believes the war with Russia should end.”

So, no, he’s not giving up. The headline is poorly worded.

That’s my viewpoint. He’s keeping the same VP. She’s not very charismatic, but she’s smart and would probably do a good job.

Sounds like we need a Myth Busters episode on this

In America we get Eastern European immigrants who love America and constantly bitch about how terrible communism is and how much they love Republican capitalism. Same from Cuba. Then we have liberals who bitch about America.

My view is that part of patriotism is fighting for the improvement of your country. If my country does shitty things, a true patriot will advocate for doing better.

I know the marriage record shows Franciscus is from Unterwarmberg and Maria is from Szekul, but I can't quite make out some of the other text and locations. Thanks!

I worked with a lady who would always ask me for IT support because i give off that nerd vibe. One day she came in frantic because her husband found some “totally innocent” text messages on her iPad from another guy and accused her of cheating. She wanted me to disconnect iMessage from her iPad so that this wouldn’t happen again. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see any of the messages, but it was interesting to behold. The next week she asked me how to rip videos from her soon-to-be ex-husband’s Facebook account to send to her lawyer.

Redditors who say “I’ve been saying this for years” or something similar.Ultra Annoyed

Like… I don’t know you from Adam, how the fuck should I know that you “tried to tell us” or that you “knew it all along”. You’re just some rando on Reddit amongst a thousand other comments.

This type of expression to me is much more appropriate amongst people that you personally know and can either vouch for or disagree with your claim to have always felt that way. Just because you claim on Reddit that you’ve been saying some shit for years doesn’t automatically make you a wise soothsayer that I should follow. In fact, it tells me your argument will probably be based in arrogance and I immediately skip to the next comment.

Wow… I don’t know why this bothers me. I don’t know why I took the time to type this out on the toilet. Hopefully this doesn’t make me an asshole. Anyway, have a nice day everyone!
