Kill me now. We’ve dealt with so many lane closures for years while things were under construction..why couldn’t they have done some of these upgrades then? And why aren’t they doing more work at night? Surely some overtime costs are far more worthwhile than destroying the main or second main artery south of downtown…

The commentator on Fox keeps referring to him as "the captain Ayhan" and every time I first think Captain Ahab.

This was a genuinely shocking decision. That the Dutch scored a few minutes later really added so much insult to injury.

The header was onside, the player who scored was ahead of him though and seemingly offside. VAR ultimately claimed Richards foot kept him on by what can only be considered the finest of margins.

Around 18% with these parameters if you include my wife and I's combined income.

If you're paying that percent with just your own income, that's a really small number compared to the average I think. That number (31%) is probably better than average even before tax.

The Covid period seems to have just genuinely broke society. There's a before and after. The sheer lack of rational thought that is just pervasive these days is unfathomable. So many people are just so much ruder these days and do completely unhinged things.

Good pace but genuinely directly at Oblak. Bernardo would have been a far better option in this scenario.

Genuinely rough to listen to. Everything or everyone is the best or worst.

That's closer to the figure that was expected for him to leave MLS so I'm sure Atlanta are fairly happy with the deal. I expected he'd kick on a bit more in his third season than he has so getting up to $30m for him at this point is arguably more than they could expect.

I do think he has the capacity to be good enough to make it look like a bargain in the future.

Good move for both sides -- he's been on various loans for a long time now so it's nice that he finally has an official new home. Think by all accounts he was one of their best players last season and it will be nice to see him finally get to make his PL debut. I was surprised Burnley didn't buy him after the season on loan before.

Mike Minay indicated City have a buy-back clause and will receive a sell-on fee if he moves somewhere in the future.

He put the ball on an absolute plate for Kane with a free header on one of the set pieces and Kane somehow fluffed it. If that goes end, does the conversation change?

Foden hasn't been anywhere near his best, but I also think Trippier is limiting him to some capacity. Foden would be more effective with a left-footed LB who could play the ball to him quicker and actually try and slip him through on occasion. Trippier's extra touch with his weaker left foot affected the timing and lead to Foden being offside as well on the disallowed goal.

This is a bit of an overstatement as a lot of them probably didn't travel that much farther than driving from Newcastle to London. Germany is quite close to Belgium, relatively.

Anyway, you can see from the video that KDB is leading the players towards the fans but then they continued to boo so he turns around. As a captain, he did the right thing to protect his players who all agreed with this as mentioned in the article.

Outstanding save. Had another incredible one towards the end of the match. What a performance.

If anyone is curious about his response. More from Tedesco at the article as well:

"We tried to win the match," De Bruyne said in a postmatch news conference. "We had goal-scoring opportunities, but we didn't take any risks with the corner because we knew we might concede a goal.

"If that happens, you're out of the Euros. It's a shame we didn't manage to score before -- we had opportunities -- and after that we just need the fans to stay with us.

"We need these fans. We'll need them against France. That's all I have to say."

Happened again on the next free kick as well but not sure I noticed it again after HT so maybe they got the bastard.

Worth nowhere near that valuation. I also don't think we should be paying over the odds for players just because they're in the PL. The world is our oyster and almost every single one of our best signings have come from another league so I don't see any reason to pay an excessively high fee just because someone has PL experience.

If we can get him for £60-70m, maybe. But even then, I think we should be casting a wide net.

Fulham signed him for €24m, he's only improved his reputation since. They'd agreed to a €65m transfer last year.. and there's nothing to suggest his value would have decreased since then. €45m including add-ons is hilarious. Good luck, Bayern.

They definitely won't be able to get Onana for cheaper than that valuation listed either.

This Austrian player Seiwald looks sooo much like KDB on this broadcast. I've got the sound off and seeing him move around the pitch with the sound off is a bit uncanny.

Found a photo and he doesn’t look that similar up close but the way he's moving around, his build and his strawberry blonde hair makes him a dead ringer from far away.

That's a shame as I know he extended his contract with Fulham for another season and it would have meant he hit the 10-year mark there. That's always a big accomplishment for any player, but for an American to do it and continue to play well at an advanced (relatively) age was pretty special IMO.

A big signing for Charlotte/MLS for sure. Should have a couple years left in the tank.

Girona's new sponsorship deal with Etihad after their historic season is for €2m a season. By comparison, Atletico is getting €40m per season from Riyadh Air let alone the figures Real Madrid and Barcelona receive. Girona don't have the revenue to accommodate anything approaching your statement -- LaLiga has salary and budget limitations in place which Girona have to comply with. Your comment is nonsensical.

I haven't found that focusing on signing players from the PL over players abroad has paid off enough to be sold on this but we'll see.

We can afford mostly anyone we want, so it doesn't really matter if we're taken to the cleaners by them, but I'm not convinced we can't find a better player elsewhere for less money.
