[Romano on X] Bruno Guimarães’ release clause worth £100m into his contract at Newcastle will expire tonight at 23.59pm UK time.
Not worth 100 million pounds imo.
No one is imo, but these are the days of modern football.
That’s kinda the point of a release clause.
Most people believe Jack wasn't either, but do we win that treble without him?
Let’s be real, Jack still isn’t worth 100 million
He is to us. Especially to just fully solidify our midfield in one swoop. Nunes and Phillips for 110 and we may as well have just donated to charity instead. Better use of our money.
What is this agenda against nunes? He has barely got minutes and when he has, he’s been fairly okay. He has lots of room for improvement and he could be a very good played for us.
No agenda. The fact he’s barely gotten any minutes is a huge issue. Everyone else who needed a year or so still got minutes. They were trusted still. Because they could understand positioning and do a role. When he’s got minutes he’s inspired very little.
Nunes isn’t a bad player, but he’s a bad play for us, our standards, and the needs of the squad. He fills no gap or need. Not good enough for a 10, incapable of playing the 8 or 6. Best chance is right wing back.
All Benfica fans are very clear about neves not being a Rodri holding type player. He’s not as good as Bruno and would be more expensive. I don’t like saying “prem proven” but that’s helpful
Means we’ve actually seen him play and know how good he is. And neves would be more expensive
KIMMICH MA BOI
Not worth it IMHO, but if you're gonna be spending that kinda money I'd love to have a look at musiala
Sounds like City are going to try to compel Bruno to push the move... doubt it works though. Sad, he's the perfect profile for this team, one we lost when Gundo left. 100 million was always a lot of money, but that profile at a high level is rare.
FYI just because it's expired doesn't mean he won't be sold and doesn't mean we're not still in for him.
I just think nobody was willing to spend £100m for him. There might still be a race for his signature, just not for that much anymore.
Fuck that noise for 100 mill
Best i can give you is 10 bucks.
Worth nowhere near that valuation. I also don't think we should be paying over the odds for players just because they're in the PL. The world is our oyster and almost every single one of our best signings have come from another league so I don't see any reason to pay an excessively high fee just because someone has PL experience.
If we can get him for £60-70m, maybe. But even then, I think we should be casting a wide net.
Stick in a 70 mil offer, They need the money. I reckon we get him for under 80 easy.
Fabrizio Romano is Tier 2, and this is because of his reliability when it comes to City news, and his tendency to jump on something before verifying to claim exclusivity (not to mention lack of citing his sources). His claims should be taken with a pinch of salt when not backed up with alternative Tier 1 sources as he is often misinformed about Man City transfers
