WFH as a teacher was TERRIBLE for me. Reaching the kids felt hopeless. Sitting around on my butt all day felt depressing.

My worry, more so for myself, is that the depression/boredom may very well continue even WELL into rehabilitation. It may be more of a mental health issue we need to deal with, rather than a waiting game. Most people would probably recommend a shrink. I'm just stubborn and trying to play it by ear. Making small changes as I progress.

Mine's going to be way different that most. But all I really need in the class, aside from my PE supplies, are pencils, notebooks (2-3 per kid), and 2 pocket folders with prongs (2 per kid). Oh, I guess a nice pencil sharpener. Most of this should would, hopefully, be provided by the school, though. "Extras" that I have, but rarely use, include dry erase markers, Mr. Sketch chart markers, and chart paper. Again, most of that should be provided by the school imo. Most everything else are for those OCD type teachers that want everything to be 100% controlled/organized and/or want everything to look all pretty. I ain't one of those people lol.

Edit: Oh yeah, my large class library is a must for my style. I also have many class sets of books.

I agree with you. It's not a cure-all, at all. And it's not fair how society sometimes tries to put the blame on the victim. But anything you can do helps, imo. Think of the extreme example. A young girl completely naïve. Flirtatious. Touchy-feely (but not over-the-line, maybe lots of hugs?). They might think it's a healthy relationship, when in fact they're being groomed. In my opinion clothing is just 1 aspect, but it's something to consider.

They're probably sleep deprived. Its effects show the worst in the morning. Maybe do a quick lap around the track with them....? They just need to wake up. At least that'd be my first guess based on working with 5-6th graders. No joke, about 25-50% of the class is sleep deprived daily. It's sad.

You're thinking of this from a women's perspective. I'm thinking of it from an (albeit over-protective) man's perspective. Honestly, at least 90% of the men I've met in my life were straight up CREEPS. This made me have extreme trust issues with other men, especially when it comes to them with any younger females in my family/friend circle. I want them to know that there are many creeps out there and I want them to be safe. It may not be FAIR, but that has nothing to do with it. It's about not having to be another victim or statistic. It's about not being too naïve in this cruel, harsh world.
