Do I like the premise of the sequel, absolutely. Does Graham McTavish do his absolute best to save this monstrosity? Also yes. Are the two American actors who are cast just utter dog 💩oh god yes. They are so bad, might have been watchable if they weren’t just so out classed but alas
Just saw the same for humpradar so guess new group of bots dropped
Only season pass will allow you to leave camper longer than a weekend
Yep, only movie I ever saw folks sit through the credits waiting for that piece of legalize of this was a work of fiction etc etc and I don’t think they even included it if memory serves
To see everything? Any weekend it will be tough to see anything. Fairy is usually the lightest weekend crowd wise, but barbarian will likely have better weather.
My advice to folks is always you don’t have to have it all done immediately. Start with a base and grow from there. Some know exactly and that’s great, but no need to spend hundreds on a piece that you never wear cause you now want to be a pirate.
You can also come in civilians and find your outfit that day. Especially if you’re coming down for both days, civis on Saturday and then new outfit on Sunday. Zootzu is a good place to start for inexpensive starting block and often has sales
Yep. If you have a specific outfit in mind we can help suggest a weekend that would fit that but no one is gonna blink if you show up as a Musketeer on Barbarian weekend if that makes sense
If weather is a big factor as mentioned above then definitely wait until November. Last year we had an unusual season where the first two weekends were gorgeous, and then the next two were miserable.
As for theme; outside of what the cast wears and a few different minor events I don’t think you’ll notice a difference weekend to weekend. You’ll find plenty of pirates, Vikings, fairies, etc every weekend
Hell House LLC. That clown, every time they move. Doesn’t matter if I know it’s coming, it still gives me the creeps
The only overt sexual thing that is out in the open on a regular basis is Naked Jenga at CoB, but even there you can’t really see it with the amount of people around (and definitely not camping near it when coming for just one weekend).
The more overt sexual things (SoB, Bondage camp, etc) are covered and not quite out in the open as folks make it sound. It’s there, but it’s not as Caligula as some make it.
I’d look into renting an R.V. from someone other than faire; try outdoorsy or the like. There are folks who will drop off and pick. From what I’ve heard from folks about the cabins, yurts, etc is that they’re bare bones so you’d still need to bring blankets etc
So dates wise, if you don’t want to go back and forth on previous covered routes, will be tough. Now these are states not exact faire names but off the top of my head Florida starts the year in Jan, Arizona is in Feb, Texas March, SoCal April, Oklahoma May, Oregon June, Colorado July, East coast August and September, Texas October, Louisiana November and Florida again December.
This is the right answer. Before the giant price increases our group did this as folks will try to use your porta no matter how much it appears to not be for public use
Things are rarely as good as an original; but I enjoy. The latest is probably the best of the bunch
The Castle Siege; don’t think I’ve seen the like anywhere else
I’ve heard good things about Oregon (south of Portland I think) and great things about Washington Midsummer REN Faire (Snohomish)
I have been to Brevard, Sarasota, LARF, TRF, Sherwood, Muskogee, Colorado, SoCal, Maryland, Bristol and VA. Now these are just my thoughts on some of these and everyone has different desires as what they want from their faire experience. Brevard may have the best collection of pure musical talent out of any faire in the country. I wish they had a better set up, but so much talent. LARF definitely wins for best food, but then I love Cajun. TRF has a great many things about it; but an owner who is horrible and only cares about money. Pub Sing is second to none, the Feast is fantastic. Bristol reminds me of a mix of TRF and Maryland and I enjoyed my time but is bursting at the seems. Colorado is enchanting, beautiful and not one level piece of ground; if they had a campground it may be perfect. Muskogee was a nice faire, they are smart about many things. The Kings Smoker is not to be missed, maybe the best money you’ll spend for an additional cost. Sherwood is a rennies faire. Owners and a community who work hand in hand for the betterment of the faire. I still have yet to see another faire to do what they do with the castle siege and gets better every season. Maryland is like a warm blanket. Artists and vendors who have been there for decades are still there. Nothing quite like the White Hart at times.
Also solid quality that will last as well. So lower price but not cheaper quality
