Hello Reddit,

LF name of a game. It is a Strategy, Space Empire, 4x, maybe Turn-based? game made maybe by a Russian Developer? It was once remade/remake by a single guy and rereleased, somewhere 2000-2005ish?, it involved Empire building and Gods.

I looked through some sites like GoG and Abandonware, but couldn't find it. I have a vague memory that the game was called Immortal Empire/s? or something. I definitely know that the "story" involves two godlike beings, or gods, waging war against each other in their very very powerful warships and with various other empires. The player takes command of an empire involved in this war (forced as servants of a god?). At first the Gods were incredibly strong and the player has no way than to serve them and wage war against or use diplomacy against the other empires. But with time, the player could build mighty fleets that could rival the gods themselves and kill them. Anyone has an idea what the name of the game is?

LS32BG850N(U)XEN and LS32BG850N(P)XENDiscussion

The letter Mason! What does it mean?!

Edit: Looked a bit into it, the P should have an external power supply and the U an internal?

Amazon U 1150€ and Amazon P 1300€? A 150€ difference...

Why shouldn't it last? The only things that can break are the fans. Like the Noctua, it has 2 of them, so I could just buy another one when one of them breaks. The Noctua sure looks better though... but it's around 70-80€ more expensive.

Edit: Save to say, that eventually AMD will release a CPU with both C-Dies 3D-cached. If they release it for AM5 or another platform, time will tell.

Yeah, I saw the list. Was going for the Corsair RM1000x Gold rated. It is ATX 3.0 compatible and still 184€ here. Cheaper than it's rivals.

Completely new setup, EU, 4k€ max.Build Help

Hello Redditors! My 8 year old PC has been getting too slow and unresponsive for me. (5820k OC´d to 4,2 Ghz and 32GB DDR4 2333Mhz + a normal rtx2060 on a gigabyte x99m gaming 5.) I want to build a completely new setup with a new monitor and mouse. My Keyboard still does it´s duty and my headphones don´t need replacing.

Edit: Here is the Partpickers List I have made for now.

---CPU---

I wanted to build my setup in February when the 79X0x3d released but decided to wait for the 7800x3d and put aside some more money. Now that the reviews for the 7800x3d are released (Linus and GN) I am heavily leaning to build a Red system. Points are that:

  1. I don´t do anything productivity-wise, only gaming. Maybe later some streaming, definitely VR!
  2. AMD has much longer Platform (Socket) support. It feels like Intel uses a new socket for each 1. or 2. new generation. (At the end of DDR5 Support/Start of DDR6, I don´t want to buy another MB to get the most out of DDR5 (see MB). Futureproof!)
  3. The power is comparable with the 13600k-13700k, but with lower power draw/higher efficiency. But I am still not absolutely sure if I should go 7800x3d and if I should use Water- or Aircooling.

---MB---

For a MB the X670E Chipset seems the most Futureproof for me, because it supports PCIe 5.0 for M.2 and GPU. Even though there are no PCIe 5.0-GPU and M.2 on the market, in some years there certainly will be. Unfortunately, no MB supports more than 1x M.2 on PCIe 5.0 without compromising the GPU-Lanes. At least, the ones I saw didn´t. If Intel is the better option for a CPU, then the Z790 Chipset should be equal to the X670E from AMD. Next Question is the supported Ethernet speed. Is 2,5GB/s enough? Or should I go 10GB/s to saturate the upcoming PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2s?

An advice coming from the Partpickers Forum (Yes, I copypasted the text in here :) ), todays GPU are DDR4 and barely use the complete bandwidth of it. So isn't PCIe Gen 5 for GPU Overkill? Do M.2 NVMe's fully use the PCIe 4.0 bandwidth? On the other hand, it does support future expansions.

---SSD---

Indecisive between the Samsung S980 Pro and S990 Pro. The S980 is supposedly not so fast as the S990, but the latter has (had?) firmware issues? It's a shame that the 4TB-Modules and the PCIe 5s are not released yet. The WD Black SN770 are equal in performance to the S980 Pro and 30€ cheaper.

Any better alternatives?

---DDR---

Looking for 2x32GB Modules. Most MBs show support for up to 6600Mhz even though 8000Mhz DIMMs are out there. Is that the maximum they can support or can they actually run 8kMhz in OC? The 7800x3d can run 2x2R DDR5-5200. So it isn't enough to saturate the Memory, or can it be OC'd too? Do Memory-IC's matter in this case? Hynix, Micron, M-die, A-Die...

---GPU---

Should be replaceable in the future when PCIe 5 GPUs are coming out at the end of DDR5 lifetime. Was looking for 3090Ti and upwards. Should be doing Cyberpunk with Raytracing on 1440p or better in 4k.

---Monitor---

Looking at RTINGS comparison tool for Displays, those three are the ones I picked:

Samsung Odyssey Neo G8, Alienware AW3423DWF, Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 with the latter being my favorite. All of them have a very high "Gaming" and HDR rating. The Monitors should not be higher than 50cm and 80cm wide. So 34" are probably the largest that fit on my desk. Those displays seem good to use for more than 10 years. I doubt anything can rival those monitors. Especially the OLED G8.

---Case---

Well it depends on the cooling method for the CPU/GPU. I was looking toward the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Evo, would buy additional Lian Li fans for it. Big enough to fit everything in it with great Airflow. Problem is the space either under my desk or next to it. The space below my desk where my Corsair Carbide Series is standing, is 24,5cm wide, 48cm deep (52cm max.) and 45-46cm high. The Lian Li is with almost 27cm to wide for that. The "Mini" version is 29cm wide... What a shame, they look really nice. My Mini-Fridge has to move under the desk, switching it's place with the PC. But Airflow would be obstructed from the back and right side for the PC. Looking toward a Corsair 4000D Airflow.

---PSU---

No Idea what to get here. It depends on the CPU and GPU. The PSU would probably stay inside the PC for an eternity, so looking for platinum+?

---Mouse---

Taking my information from RTINGS again, I would go for either a Razer Viper 8KHz, ROCCAT Kone Pro or Endgame Gear XM1r. The mouse should be wired. I play all kinds of games, but mostly games like Tarkov. I have a Corsair Nightshade RGB but the middle-mouse button is busted.

Any help welcome!

Never loud, rarely complaining and indeed very chill as is his gameplay. Not a Tryhard Chad like LVNDMARK.
