WAAAAAY overlooked and so incredibly well-written. It was so damn captivating.

Man in the Black Suit may be his most straight-forwardly scary story. Need to re-read EE as a whole. Really fantastic and often over-looked in his great list of work.

At first I was going to say I don’t see it at all- But then I thought of the clean vocals in the first half. Might be the closest to a James Labree (sp?) type vocal melody Mike’s ever done actually.

They’ve gotten too lazy to rehearse the rest of their catalogue.

Haha, sorceress does certainly suck. Several years ago, Lotus Eater was a staple of the live set. Guess it had its time in the rotation. They’ve probably played Demon of the Fall every single tour in the last decade, I’m not sure why they don’t get tired of it. A lot of this just boils down to laziness, really. They used to do a great job of throwing in random deep cuts, but this was almost a decade ago as well and since, it seems they just don’t want to put in the rehearsal time to get an old banger justice.

Just saying he played like a video game in real life and it was awesome. What’s wrong with y’all?

For real. Even with instant communication across the world now, most of us can't even be bothered to type out full words. But idk

What the fuck is the rym? What is this rym job business

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe that's an Everything's Eventual with 1408 promotional marketing or something.

He and his Madden counterpart looked identical on the field.

"I'm a sinner, and I worship evil."

I mean... Can't believe he left in the filler, scratch lyrics in the title track.

In America, there's definitely a Horse With No Name.

You’d think Oketra would have Reach. Or should at least with that big-ass bow

This was the first Dark Tower related story I read! Always fond memories of that first read-through.

Does it make you feel the pain in your brain and insane?

If you’re getting sick from it, maybe you’ll die at the hands of those who feel fine in their dislike for those albums.

There’s a part of me that is very interested in that perspective. I love all sorts strange, eclectic, progressive bands throughout the generations, even many which influenced Opeth in both phases of their career, but the with the exception of Pale Communion, just cannot for the life of me enjoy any of the other newer albums. I think it’s cool that you came aboard with their newer presentation. I still personally think Opeth should have just been retired and moved ahead with a different project name, but I obviously understand why that didn’t happen and why that would be an absurd thing to ask. It’s all a matter of reference and what sound first connected with you. If listening to Still Life through a decent sound system and comfortable environment doesn’t do it for ya, I wouldn’t know what else to tell ya man. Cheers for being a fellow fan regardless!
