Max HR is specific to the individual. I have 3 hour rides where I’m at 180+ bpm for 90 mins in total. I use both an Apple Watch and a Garmin HRM strap to measure HR, which show the same data consistently with variance of 1-2% at most. Haven’t really pushed to max HR for a few years, but it was around 210 four years ago.

I mean, you’re spending 3 weeks to get ~12 weeks, and it spans the period where you’d most likely spend those weeks anyway. Imagine that you reject, and you’re asked to show up physically for those 3 months instead - would that be better or worse?
