This honestly just seems disdainful from you, and for some twisted reason

This is one of those pieces of info I'd rather not know, but that I still think we all should

I'm not saying he caused it

I'm saying that I don't think any damning legal action will be taken against the perpetrators during his term

If these past few months have shown me anything, it's that if you grease that thief's hands/supported him over the campaigns, nothing will happen to you. Just look at his cabinet

In the era of William Samoei Ruto, I don't think anyone is going to get canned for this, and no funds will be recovered

This is the bed Kenyans made

Yeahhh... you are definitely not worth spending this time on

Lakini because it's important that people have an understanding. If the ward or OR or whatever is manned for 8 hrs/day (laughable really) what happens at other times? Illnesses/conditions do not say sahii ni usiku wacha tudoze turauke kesho

The WHO has a recommended 1:1000 doctor:patient ratio for adequate coverage, service delivery and good working conditions. Kenya is at 1:17000. That produces a greater workload, less personnel, more hours, etc. Health systems in Kenya are understaffed, underfunded, and poorly managed. There's a whole lot more but clearly you don't like lectures, just kuongea tu on things without trying to get a hint of understanding

Now, "public chasing doctors in Eldoret. You mean the goons? Who became so embarrassed of their own actions they moved and the march passed?

Your representatives have so much disdain for you that they do not care whether you get quality healthcare or not. So much so that they paid people watupe mawe at the people who man your hospitals, while they're on strike over terrible conditions

unasema "majority of Kenyan doctors", bile back up. Just "trust me bro"

Yeah, I'd want more info

Nikikuambia ueleze hutaki, hapa hatuezi elewana

Again, and this is the last time I'll try to explain things to a wilfully ignorant person

Training in medicine is structured very differently from training in other professions

Do tell, what did you do for your Masters?

Masters students in Medicine are PAID in other countries, usiongee tu fwaaa. Master students in medicine do 6-12-24 hour shifts + Weekend calls, on top of classes, teaching, admin work and studying. I wonder how these people are supposed to scrap by without being paid

From what we've seen, the message simply does not resonate with you, majority of people are behind the Doctor's strike, even here on Reddit. Unless jina yako ya katikati ni "Most Kenyans"

Umeandika miiiiingi lakini hujakubali kazi ya medical internship ni mzito kuliko internship ingine yoyote. It is simply how things are structured

Look at medical training in other countries. What we call medical officer intern here is actually called post-graduate yr-1 in other places. Some consider it a misnomer

Wewe naona haujui ni nini unaongelea

"Majority behave the same" WAPI. Nini inafanya useme hivi. 2 cases?

Unless you want to tell us you've met/worked with even 20% of doctors in this country, wacha ufala

You don't seem to understand the dynamics involved in training in and practicing medicine,

The degree costs 600 000 ksh a year for 6 academic years (8 actual years) (hujaongeza upkeep, books, abd all that)

Internship is a gruelling 1 yr where, by law, you cannot work anywhere else. Even the logistics are impossible. You are pulling 12, 24, 36 hour shifts. The interns rn are working every single day of the week. If I have how taxing it can be to work as an intern doctor then I am talking to the wrong person.

You are left on your own after internship. It's common knowledge that for many places, you've got to pay to get the job. 4000/5000 doctors are unemployed

Now, you need to work for 1-2 yrs before starting Masters, which costs sth like 650 000 a year, this is the lower end

Masters entails literally working as a doctor. Part of what's causing the strike is that Masters students are not being paid while doing a huge burden of the work in Teaching hospitals, while studying

Let's do the math. A net of 40k for 12 months gives you 480000 at the end of the year. kata expenses hauna kitu.

Alafu unataka huyu jamaa aende alipe 650 000 a year for masters. Aje sasa

The interns will be okay losing a year if it means they will not be exploited. Mtu aende afanye cs, amanage pressure ya bibi yako, akuchungie mtoto, aangalie kama uko na cancer, ajiexpose to infectious illnesses kila siku, apigiwe simu 2 am kuenda kufanya sijui nini, umlipe 40 net a month?

Fikiria ndugu yangu

Hate them as much as you like, but they're keeping you healthy and saving lives. Pay them what is due

Nah

I just knowbit's unfair to characterize and detest every "Kenyan doctor" based off, in this case, two cases of misdiagnosis that you happen to know to have happened this month

What were the specifics? Do you have an idea how many lives are saved/made better by them each month? Have you yourself been a foctor to understand the nature of the work? (Hence why I'm asking abt the specific cases)

Do you think it makes sense to detest and mischaracterize every restaurant based on some bad food you had at some places?
