I felt guilty

Your company has won. They've convinced you work is more important than your life. I'm about to hop on a plane for a long 4th weekend and I don't give a care what is happening at work.

It's 45 in the U.S. now. You should do yourself a favor and research colon cancer. It basically boils down to this. If they catch it early, you'll probably live. If you wake up one morning and something hurts, it's probably game over. Unreal the amount of people our age that are just dead set on not being healthy or doing preventive procedures.

I'm not sure what the withdrawal rules for a 403b are (never read about them really) but with a 457(b) the rules are basically once you leave employment, the money is yours to withdrawal any time/any age you want without penalties outside of regularly being taxed. Something to possibly consider.

Being in state government, does she have access to a 457(b) deferred compensation plan? In my local government job, when you retire you can have some/all of your final payout go into your 457(b). Those are pre-tax dollars so can save a bit of a tax hit up front. The combined contribution limit this year, including catch contribution, is $30,500.

I did that with the mini-NES I got, put every NES game on it. Many of those games are still a blast to play! When I can't decide which PC game to play, I'll just play some Tecmo Bowl or R.B.I. on it.

It's easy to mod any old arcade machine, Arcade1Up machine, or the like with all of the old arcade games. When I started getting into collecting full sized cabs years ago, I was surprised how huge of a community there is online for these games. Not only restoring old games but also modding them. It's pretty awesome! I learned a lot about doing that stuff over on the KLOV forums.

Used to own a Karate Champ, just like the one in the picture. Was a childhood dream to own some arcade machines and I've had a few of them. Now I prefer the Arcade1Up versions. It was a magical time growing up during the arcade era in the late 70s through the 80s.

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians is my favorite of the new gen blobbers. If you like Operencia (which I really liked!) you should like those first four on my list. There's also Bard's Tale IV, though I'm guessing you've played it already if you've already played all the others.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. You realized you needed to change, made it happen, now it's going to pay off! That's something to hold your head up high about, not be embarrassed by. Nice work! Use your new position to start saving for retirement. Take advantage of any 401(k) type account your new job might provide.

Those people that block crosswalks are fun too. If you try to point out to them they are in the crosswalk, they act like you're the problem.

Did your friend disclose any of this stuff the inspection found? If not, I'd think again about them actually being friend enough to do a favor like this for.

Same here. If eye contact isn't made, I don't go. It's especially important when heading north on that trail because everyone turning right is looking left. Crossing Charleston while riding that trail can be nerve racking.

Private property, report it to EOS. Taking pictures of people in public isn't illegal...even if it is creepy.

The music. 90s music was so bad. Recently tried a few different 90s channels on XM and Pandora. My opinion hasn't changed.

My high school got Sports Illustrated in the library, but wouldn't put the swimsuit edition out for us to "read".

Self-checkout at Wal-Mart and at the end the kiosk asks if I wanted to make a donation to some charity. Fucking Wal-Mart family. Worth a few hundred billion combined, but asking me to donate to charity.

Pretty standard fare around here, or was when I bought several years back, for the seller to include a 1 year home warranty. It's the only time I've ever had one. Was able to get 1 item replaced while I had it. Wouldn't pay for one out of my own pocket though.

Is any part of that first bill some kind of deposit and/or initial connect fees?

I see this constantly. Riding my bike on the 215 beltway trail there are a few places you have to cross at a light controlled intersection. The amount of fools that just casually run through red lights to turn right is amazing. Then when they almost hit you/someone they always act like the person crossing on green is in the wrong.

Mine's been playing "can you trust your O-ring". Fart or shart? Take a guess. Feeling mother nature calling, how long you gonna risk it before heading to the bathroom. It's like Saw....just with your underpants. Do....you...want...to...play...a....game. I think it's one of the downfalls of my really healthy diet. Like crap through a goose sometimes.

The amount of people calling this offsides coupled with all the "soccer/football sucks" takes (from people that would probably get winded from running 50 yards) is exactly what reddit is. lol
