The modulation grip on the Roland SH-101 is controlled by resistance, not by an audio or CV signal. The SH-101 passes a small current through the modulation grip, and the grip wheel acts as a variable resistor (potentiometer) that changes the resistance depending on the position of the wheel or by momentary press on the button. change in resistance is what controls the pitch bend and filter modulation. it would be really cool if you could send any audio waveform into the modulation grip jack and have it modulate the synth, that unfortunately won't work. The jack is just passing current to the grip, not reading a voltage.
I'm sure there is a way of modifying it to work.
I really wish you could as this would be essentially an accent in. Leading to some serious acid potential.
The clock in can be triggered with audio.
For example the classic Drum machine triggers in to ext clk stepping the sequencer. My favourite way to use the 101 since my keyboard playing is crap.
