Agreed. It pretty bogged down and repetitive, but for me the story points keep it worth it. Side quests like An Awkward Pair are so absolutely brain dead but I absolutely love it to death. It's silly fanfic but as somebody that loves the dbz story inside & out, I can't help but be willing to grind a way a bit for these tiny story moments.

A lot of modern gaming has the same issues of grind-padding, DBZK is not free of that criticism by any means.

This. People really don’t remember how low the bar was for his passing game. They said AR wouldn’t be throwing over the middle at all, or be able to hit the seam with timing. Even in 2.5-3 games he connected on many of those, and him and Downs especially had such a chemistry it felt like.
