Learn from my lack of judgment!
To be clear: this is a me problem, not a vodka or bacon problem. I probably should have noticed that most of the recipes calling for bacon-washed vodka are tomato-based things like the Bloody Mary or the Caesar, neither of which I particularly care for. It doesn't do any favours to a Screwdriver or a Harvey Wallbanger.
There are many things I like about bacon and none of them are in this. There's no saltiness. No smokiness. No meatiness. It's more like a ham infusion, maybe, or if you only chewed the fatty white parts of a piece of bacon. The texture is sort of interesting, but there must be better ways to get there.
The good news is that I didn't do this to a whole bottle. I'm not sure what I'll do with the rest of it. Maybe use it for pasta sauces?
