You did the right thing and your parents are enablers. My husband went through something similar with his sister who stole his check book (this is going to age him lol) and she wrote fraudulent checks. That was on his credit for years. He decided not to press charges (idk why I would have but I didn’t know him yet when all this went down) but he has almost completely distanced himself from his family for good reason. She had done almost all drugs under the sun, has stole jewelry, medications, etc. My husband won’t even let the majority of his family even know where we live to protect us. I understand loving family but to love them doesn’t mean to enable and put our own health at risk. I refuse as you should to be manipulated and have our financial stability jeopardized because it’s “family”.

I had to cut out dairy when I was breastfeeding and when I started eating/drinking it again I noticed how crappy dairy makes me feel (gas, stomach aches).

I don’t eat bread, but my son and husband tend to prefer just 100% whole wheat. We are not fancy people lol.

Many will disagree with me on this, but I’ll take the heat if you take the nonstop rain. We are (literally) floating over here (southern Minnesota).

I used to work in insurance and if something was considered “experimental” it was never covered. Regardless, I would still appeal. Is it an in network doctor? They can outreach and work with the insurance and do a peer to peer review. They can argue on your behalf why it’s necessary. Good luck!

Why wouldn’t you push the call button or I think (some do maybe not all) rooms have some button that instantly indicates there’s a life threatening problem? My mom was on a team of caregivers for my cousin who was hospitalized waiting for a bone marrow transplant. She (my mom) got extremely ill and they pushed the button and a whole team came rolling in. Not sure if all hospitals have that or maybe its dependent on the floor/unit you are on.

When I need to. I’m way over due. My feet are starting to ache. My mom has Plantar fasciitis and has me quite educated on how/when to buy new shoes! Avoid flip flops 😜

None but I’m a stay at home mom so I never get a break 😜 but my husband has just the 4th off and will work the following Saturday due to having that day off. He can also choose to work the actual 4th and would make a crap ton of money but we have plans so he isn’t working!

They are pretty brutal when it comes to getting excused. I was told by the judge that there was no “legal reason” he should excuse me from jury duty when I asked to be excused since I’m a stay at home mom with a 4 year old and no reliable childcare (my parents live over 5 hours away, no other relatives or neighbors close enough or that I knew well enough to leave my kid with, and you cannot just drop your kid off at a daycare). My husband works 80 hour work weeks and is never home during the week. So they were okay for a 4 year old to apparently be home alone 🤷‍♀️.

I don’t have Medicaid but I know with our insurance (through husbands employer) even for my wellness check many times lab work isn’t covered as part of the “free” check and it applies toward my deductible. Not sure if Medicaid has anything similar? It sucks as wellness checks in my mind should cover blood work since it can catch so many problems early on.

My husband and I both used to work at Home Depot and when we worked there it was the vendor not Home Depot themselves that wanted it tossed. Not sure if it’s still that way. It’s been quite a few years since either of us worked there. I always thought how nice it would be to bring them to a nursing home or something!

Handwriting worked 100 times better for me than digital. I was in college/grad school when the push really started to go digital vs paper and pen. I tried but I just didn’t absorb information as well using digital. Taking notes with a piece of paper and pen was and still is my life saver!

I couldn’t handle the lack of privacy personally. Are you obligated to stay per a lease or can you get out?

Our McDonald’s also has the kiosks but I don’t recall them ever asking for a tip. But I’d be pissed and if would be enough for me to not go there anymore. I only drink their iced coffee anyways so it would be easy to quit going lol

Spiders are everywhere, as are earwigs, centipedes, etc. finding them, or any bug in your bed, unless it’s an actual bedbug is not an indication that you have beg bugs. I’m not sure where you are located but here in southern Minnesota we are being attacked by so many different bugs right now, especially since we are flooding really bad too. Try not to panic!

Higher income usually means no help. Lower income might qualify for help with healthcare, groceries, rent, etc. I consider us middle class and we pay for everything. We get no help with medical costs, food, etc. which is fair since we make more money. I’m not hating on the poor and I’m thankful I’m not in their shoes but there are times I wished we could get SOME help. I had a mom saying how she paid nothing for having her baby since she was low income, yet we paid well over $15,000 to have our son not including our premiums . There is a huge discrepancy there. It is hard being middle class and getting hit with the costs of raising children and even having more money doesn’t make it easy.

I love the black hills! One of my favorite places to go! We just got back from there a week ago and I miss it terribly. I would love to move to the area and own property.

Yes. My husband is early to bed early to rise for work and preference. I am completely opposite lol. I’m up late and sleep in when I can. I always wake him up no matter how quiet I am so separate rooms would probably work for us lol
