This is in Michigan. We went for consultation with estate planning lawyer for trust and will. We wanted to go for trust but he said that with our situation will is the way to go but we were not sure about it. He said that he would charge $1000 to make will and file it. We said will let him know. He also said that he will prepare the document. After couple of weeks he send me draft documents. I emailed back that we will not go for will. He then send me email that he would charge for his work. I emailed back to him that it was not discussed that we would be charged for it if we decide not to go for it. And nothing was in writing from his side. So then rather sending me an explanation he send me invoice with a due date on it. Is there any way I can refuse it? And even if I have to pay can I go to local bar association to file a complains about not disclosing all the terms of business and get money through that route. Thank you in advance.
