Gimp is quite literally amazing. I use it every day.
Great content! Yeah, so I don't know the lineage of dsda, but, in original and by extension chocolate/crispy, there is a flag that you can place in the command line for turning monsters off. It's simply -nomonsters
So the command might be:
crispy-doom -iwad <doomwad here> -nomonsters
I'm glad you are inspired. Any videos out yet? What maps have you enjoyed? What I've been doing lately is playing maps with the nomonsters flag and just enjoying the architecture.
Go for it! If you have a passion for something, don't query other people to confirm it. They don't feel what you feel. As long as you are having a good time and not hurting anyone. That's all that matters.
Prestige? Buddy...
On a serious note, calm down. Good engineers are still hard to come by. We have trouble hiring all the time. It's still a stable career field because it will naturally weed out the uncommitted.
Yup pretty much, and sure that's possible but a touchdown can be inferred, so on your polling, if the score went up by 6 from your last check in, boom you know a touchdown was scored. As for lights, there are bulbs with api. I once wrote an ambiance thing for my wife that linked our lights with the sunset color in the gameworld and it's music.
You could go about this in several ways. One way would be if you knew a sport news site that has an api. Then you could poll the api for scores and when 1 increases, kick off light etc.
Wait, how did they get those slopes? This isn't vanilla!!!!! Shame :)
I think it's a stretch to call me a professional artist. I am a professional programmer but I do cutout / collage / dada and animation in my games. My flow is:
My own scraped image library: pc.lowframerate.studio Gimp - for procedural patterns, effects and general photo cutouts. Natron - for video cutouts. Synfig - animation, including skeletal and mesh deformation
My own engine for rendering.
Idk how to link an image of my example work. I just have photos.
I'm happy to chat!
We agree. That's why in my game, I'm opting for old school baby. Doom level old school.
I can't speak to why they are saying what they are saying. I'll let them defend it. But yes, graphics eat budgets. High quality assets take longer by higher priced skilled artists. Imo, ita not a debate.
Technically any game rendered with sdl2 that doesn't use acceleration is software rendered!
Yes, I love software rendering! Doom and wolf, early quakes!
Exactly this, some solar punk citizen suggested decentralization sint s goal in itself and I was blown away by the comment. I think the way to do it is to mesh net, and for access you agree to some requirements.
I believe the only way to do it is to decentralized it. And then, for free guaranteed access you agree to no abuse and only open.some folks dubbed it folk web.
This is exactly what the ping utility is for.
Just open a command line and run ping google.com
If you are on windows there I'd a flag that makes it ping more then 4 times. Cheers
In a country that is built around a car, straight up requires it. This would be akin to removal of rights. I'm open to a totally different way of existing mind you.
We're kindred souls. I suggest reading about the work on small talk, it's philosophical underpinnings and Alan kay.
I'm a true believer in humans shrinking the barrier to computation access. The so called omniuser, where programmer and user converge, they are one in the same. I think about how this might profoundly effect research and discovery, what it might enable.

I also suggest all of richard stallmans work. The hacker ethos etc. John carmack and dooms source code release. Aaron sschwarts and his tragedy. I'm also a big believe in decentralization, again, so guarantee humans computer understanding.
I dream of interconnect mesh networks that are atomic and ran decentralized.
I to, ponder our relationship to computers deeply. Om currently writing my own take on the metaverse concept, before it's known implementation are corrupted by money.
Ted Ingalls work on Xanadu and the book computer lib.
All thoughtful stuff.
I learned to understand. I stayed to be a god of my own universe.
why did you learn programing?
