Metta - the Pali word often translated as "loving kindness" - is a form of meditation that is aimed at generating and sustaining that specific emotional state.

The best way to learn about it is to experience it. There are a bunch of great metta meditations online. I recommend anything by Tara Brach. Have fun :)

Hey, something similar happened to me at one point!

I recommend either 1. changing to a metta meditation practice or 2. Taking a break for a while. For me, those experiences weren't helpful.

In retrospect, I think a part of myself is very afraid (probably unprocessed trauma) and meditation undid some subconscious defense mechanisms that were protecting me.

I found that metta was a safe way to heal my emotional system. Sometimes when I was having scary visuals, if I practiced metta I would see spikes turn into a coral reef. Or teeth turn into a garden. Was kinda cool sometimes.

Why does this community backseat this shit so hard?

Trying to feel alive when the oooaaaooooohhss come in.

When we don't know what to do, shouldn't the default be openness to new ideas, curiosity and problem solving?

If Biden's the best option that's fine, let's just talk it over and think it through properly.

  1. I don't think it matters what the rules used to be. What the Republicans are doing is new.

  2. The checks and balances come from 3 branches of government, Trump has significant influence in all 3 in a unique way.

  3. Every software company releases products they don't necessarily think are hackable. But, if you give most software to a competent hacker, in time they'll find vulnerabilities that the developers didn't even think to be concerned about. Almost every software that's released has these vulnerabilities.

Imagine asking a developer on release to name ways that their software will be hacked. They can point out some common weaknesses, but in time the biggest vulnerabilities will be things the developers didn't even think to consider.

I think electing Trump is analogous to giving a hacker access to the source code of American democracy and 4 years to figure out how it can be dismantled.

  1. I'm concerned about the US military. It's a Trump card. (Excuse the pun lol.)

As for tactics, if I were to hazard guesses: -Election fraud -Legal loopholes -Abusing presidential immunity -Prosecuting senators/congress people to achieve majority votes

In addition to whatever "hacks" his team can conjure up that I've yet to imagine.

Honestly, not sure I have tons of respect for your position. Still seems extremely naive and foolhardy to me. The idea that Trump is going to try to break democracy but you just know to 99% certainty it won't work? I think your position is severely lacking in intellectual humility.

You're far too willing to play with fire. Playing with fire is safe until it's not.

Hmm well if I was 99% sure I probably would feel similar to what you do.

I personally am concerned that the republican party would broadly support Trump's attempt to seize control. (He of course would say that it's actually the democrats who are trying to seize control. Republicans are trained to fall in line.)

Honestly, I don't think your model of reality is consistent with the character and actions of the modern republican party. I think you should strongly reconsider how much support he would have and how effective that support could be.

Also consider that he wouldn't just "take over" America, there would be a republican story about how it's actually the right thing to do.

I'm curious, what percent chance would you give to the checks and balances holding?

Actually, what percent chance would you give for checks and balances holding before the immunity case and what percent chance do you think it's at now?

Yeah I see what you're seeing now. Unless it factors in teammates or that Buium is a defenseman? I have no idea why that would be the case or why that would help Buium though.

Edit: From the guy who made PNHLe

"I made the decision to equalize the rates of defensemen compared to forwards by incorporating a multiplier calculated separately for each league (approximately 1.3). This allows you to quickly see how well a defenseman is doing compared to forwards inside the same league, and whether their production is better or worse than their counterparts.

Although a forward's PNHLe represents their project point potential at the NHL level, a defenseman's PNHLe is used as a comparable against forwards giving you greater insight in your fantasy leagues on which player actually has the more significant point production."

So I think him being a defenseman gives him another multiplier, but I'm not sure I understand why.

It's in Mantha's hands. If he reignites Huberdeau it's hard to walk away from that.

We still need room for Coronato

To steelman Conroy, I assume he's simply saying their role is similar. 4-6 offensive defenseman. I think he'd readily agree Kylingon is the better player.

Man that Carolina trade tree is gonna go so hard in 5 years.

Is his wife Calgarian?
