No idea why, but I can give you a life example: I suffer with clenching at night. Obviously my whole jaw hurts, but my left side is 2x worse. Then scan down my body: my left shoulder/trap is crunchy when I move my arm (weak muscles); my spine has a tiny scoliosis, making my entire back, and especially the lower back and hips weaker. Look down: I always have issues with my left hip and knee when I’m hiking or cycling a lot. Further: I have a mild bunion on my left foot. I reckon if I actually took time to do my PT exercises (that are designed to strengthen my back and hip on the left side), overall moved more day to day, did fascial massage on my jaw, scalp and neck, and was more aware of my posture (head forward looking down on my phone/laptop all day! Hello!) my clenching issues would be so much better, or gone.

Hand-wash it, dry in a towel and lay flat to dry. If you’re unsure how to do it, google blocking/hand-washing knits. This would give you more flow but if it’s still too stiff then you just used a too little hook to have a good drape in the fabric.
