Both are pretty bad decisions and any seasoned rider would notice that off rip. I’ve had friends learning that couldn’t handle cbr125r’s in traffic due to whisky throttling it in stop and go traffic and losing the rear end on sections with gravel.

Ultimately it sounds like you went down the internet rabbit hole of “grow out of x motorcycle” which doesn’t really exist in the real world. I’d argue maybe 5% of all riders on the roads today can reach the full capability of a CBR250R.

I’m not sure what you’re chasing by buying an organ donor machine, but a 300 class bike breaks all residential speed limits in 1st gear and is up to highway speeds in 2/3rd gear. I’ve had a R3 for 9 years and 20,000 miles and I never “outgrew” it in the slightest, I can crack the throttle and be 3x the speed limit in seconds. The one thing I can say I outgrew however is the speed racer mindset. I’ve seen way too many crashes and heard stories of many people in the sport bike community dying in my local area.

This is mostly Canada wide right now. A bunch of people i know in very lucrative fields are unemployed and ghosted from mostly every application across the country. Wouldn’t be surprised if people start leaving.

Similar sentiment. I seen too many people get messed up good riding fast, so all of my riding is at the speed limit just chilling and enjoying the ride and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ve had my R3 since 2015 and I’ve loved every moment with it. Got about 20k on it now and I’ll be riding it till I get its first major issue, then I’m getting an adventure bike.

Air is more than enough. I got through my first degree with an Air 2 and my second degree with an Air 5. (Chemistry and engineering).

On board storage is arguably useless, after wrapping up my second degree I used 33/64gb on my air. If you use iCloud at all, paying for onboard storage is just wasteful.

As for the refresh rate it’s also arguably pointless. My 14 pro max is 120Hz, my gaming laptop is 244Hz and the iPad is 60Hz. Your eyes adjust within 5 minutes of using one or the other. While I was studying I’d be flipping between all 3 refresh rates with my laptop as my primary, iPad for notes and phone to distract me and it never bothered me in the slightest.

I used to have the same sentiment after switching from a garmin fenix 6x. The reality is when you take it off to shower, pop it on the charger and you’re good to go. I haven’t really noticed a difference between the two battery wise. I’d argue that it’s noticeable in the back country but not often are my activities off grid for over 17 hours of GPS time.

I’ve had my ESR wallet on my phone for over a year and it still looks new. Highly recommended.

I own a 2016 Cherokee trailhawk and I gotta say, I’m going to specifically avoid cladding in the future. It has prevented showing lots of rock chips and plenty of trail rash which is lovely, but holy hell does the plastic go to shit after a few years.

It gets this nasty look on it like you spilt wax all over it and gets what’s known as “zebra striping”. I swear it instantly looks 10 years older when this happens. The only solution is to apply plastic trim restorer multiple times a year, or bedline the parts. Absolute shit and I won’t be doing it again.

The wilderness has EVEN MORE cladding somehow, so these rigs are gonna look like shit in 5 years.

Been climbing around 3 days / week including some outdoor bouldering for the 6 months I’ve had mine and its held up fine. The only part beat is the titanium clasp on the alpine loop. However if you do crack climbing like you mentioned I’d skip wearing one, it’s gonna get obliterated. Just get an external HR strap.

This is kind the same way cellphones went, once finance options became super commonplace the price crept and crept until it cracked $1000. I remember the internet went bonkers when that happened. Now I see phones pushing $2000 (CAD) for flagships.

Yeah me and my girl net around 2x that combined and I refuse to spend that much on one.
