It's really only a net loss of 1 as they did add BYU.

They're at least replacing a Big 12 with a Big 12 as their BYU home-and-home has the same date in 2026 as the Texas Tech game did.

Hard mode: create the team from the basketball LCU & try to win a football game.

No, just an old regional opponent. They shared extensive history through 5 conferences.

"Road ahead" is much better than where I thought this was going roughly a month ago. Thank God he's got a chance.

After yesterday's news, this is not the Utah school I thought would be looking for a new head coach this off-season.

Yeah, once all of the "official" rivalries are protected, everyone that has less than 2 protected games can just be paired with their closest available conference mate to reduce travel costs.

Should do a Flex Protect Plus model since every team has 0-2 rivalries in conference.

  • Akron: Kent State
  • Ball State: Northern Illinois
  • Bowling Green: Kent State, Toledo
  • Buffalo:
  • Central Michigan: Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan
  • Eastern Michigan: Central Michigan, Western Michigan
  • Kent State: Akron, Bowling Green
  • Massachusetts:
  • Miami (OH): Ohio
  • Northern Illinois: Ball State, Toledo
  • Ohio: Miami (OH)
  • Toledo: Bowling Green, Northern Illinois
  • Western Michigan: Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan

That protects every rivalry.

I like the idea of invites, but I don't like replacing teams. For example, Oklahoma & Texas aren't replacing South Carolina & Vanderbilt in the SEC.

They should stretch it out over 2 days as well. Oregon State on 1 day. Washington State on the other. For absolutely no reason.

All 3 are huge games for the "Airplane Conference". IYKYK.

Super 6 sounds like an old-timey regional conference.

Agreed, I just wish we could play Minnesota yearly, and you guys play Illinois yearly.

Yeah, but in CFB25, I'm going to have 4 conferences with divisions, and the SBC won't be 1 of them. So take that!

There are 4 main regions (Midwest, Northeast, South, West). Each of those regions has divisions within them. The West has Mountain & Pacific. The South has the South Atlantic, Southeast, and Southwest, etc.

They should try Motel 8. They'll leave the lights on for ya.
