The biggest issue in combat is the base stat difference between 4* and 5* weapons. This is a fixed value, i.e. a balance of base damage and main stat. They are adhering to the mihoyo concept here, where the weapons have a value of, say, 1000, and this value is split into base atk and substat, for example crit rate on the sword. Limited weapons still have to adhere to the 1000 base value split into the substat and base atk. The only difference here will be the effect. The power creep can only come from the effect and is, therefore, to an extent, limited. The effect is a bit more open but works on a similar concept, where it either gives a small general buff or a massive specific one favoring a particular character. In Genshin I am still using 5 star weapons from launch as they are still just 10% worse than limited weapons. I expect the same to be the case in wuthering waves.
I disagree. You can easily get the standard 5-star weapons, and the "Music" 4-star series is absolutely amazing on everyone but a main dps.
The "Music" series with energy regen and concerto energy is fantastic across the board, as your rotation becomes much faster. Only your main dps actually "needs" a 5 star weapon to shine.
