I spent a lot of time in Ohio during Covid and worked with a father and his adult son. Both were heavy smokers and the son was obese. The old guys best friend kept telling him to get vaccinated (that he was high risk, etc). Long story short the father and son both got it and both had to go on respirators. Both nearly died and we had to see the wife/mom nearly pass out from stress and fear. They lived but both were noticeably mentally dull afterward.
The weird thing is after six months I ask the old guy if he wishes he had gotten vaccinated and he said “I don’t know. It’s a tough decision.”
It would be fun to hike to base camp, then turn around and go back down.
