Sister is obvi at fault for the entire situation. But you were an asshole by not telling your gf what happened when it happened. If it meant your proposal needed to be pushed because of the emotional upheaval then so be it. Honesty is always the most important thing. It the foundation upon which your entire relationship rests. She was right to turn down your proposal even if the sister was lying. You had hidden something very important from her.

You should really go ahead and seek out psychiatric help. What you’re experiencing emotionally is remarkably normal, given how little people talk about it. You are bottle feeding so if you need medication you don’t even have to worry about it being in your milk. And medication might really help.

But he also needs to understand that you are asking for his help to keep your baby safe. That when you need to step away it is for your baby’s safety. It’s not because you’re lazy. It’s because you are reaching a breaking point and like any healthy adult, you’re stepping away to regulate your nervous system away from the trigger.

If he refuses to help, swaddle the baby and put them in their crib and go outside the house where you can’t hear the crying for 2-3 minutes. Take the breaks you need and your baby, I promise, will be okay if they have to cry alone for just a couple of minutes.

Also. Stop using the word boundary until you actually understand what it means. A boundary is a fence I erect around MY OWN property. My power extends to my own behaviour. I can’t put a fence in YOUR lawn. The moment I start asking someone to stop expressing themselves authentically, I’m asking someone to follow a rule that I have made up for them. Boundaries are rules we ourselves follow because they dictate one’s own behaviour. Not all rules are boundaries. Rules we expect another person to follow are just that… rules.

I guess my only question is: why does communication about this issue automatically equal the end of the friendship in your mind? Like, just tell her how you really feel. You only have to end your friendship if her reaction to your genuine feelings of overwhelm is angry or manipulative. But I mean, at least give her a chance to show grace before you go nuclear. But, it also was rather insensitive to ask you given the fact that to her knowledge, you just miscarried 4 months ago. Still. That’s not something I’d end a friendship over. That’s something I’d communicate about.

An easy dog is like training wheels. Then when you take off the wheels you have some basis of experience to go off of, but it’s still learning pretty challenging new skills layered on top of the skills you were already using.

Don’t be with someone whose behaviour you find cringe. Don’t date someone whose needs for reassurance are too much for you. Do not lie to someone to appear more emotionally invested than you actually are. It’s a disservice to you both.

Look I’m just gonna say it. I don’t know how far into your second month you are, but there may still be time to consider if you want to carry his child to term. This man sounds like a nightmare and I get seriously bad vibes about a marriage/parenting with him.
