to anyone saying this is just a long excuse for his behavior, it's not. go watch an interview with him and you'd get it. I'm sure if we looked at your search history there would be plenty of awful shit. i mean look at all of the people you post on here worshipping that have done awful shit, too. he clearly was trying to stir the pot, and if you've never done something like that and you're on a sub called guitar circle jerk, you're lying. either shut up for a long while or fuck off, this man was more talented than any of you, and frankly a lot of you don't even have a valid argument. i mean how many of you have actually seen someone confess to or mention child porn who didn't go to jail? albini was not that high profile, he would not have gotten away with it if he did it. use your brains.
that's my name! dope headstock.
you don't even need a looper. cory wong's Meditation (live at montreux) has a long intro with just him playing. and even then i think the band joins in just because they wanted something to do. i love the band, but cory could 100% do that by himself.
not retro, but Dark Souls
the same day i started replaying it on lethal on a new game. made a checklist and knocked it out in about 58-59 hours. pure joy when it popped.
song: when you sleep (mbv)
singer: Robert Plant
band: cory wong
you would probably enjoy shoegaze. slowdive, MBV, trementia.
or if you've never heard him, Mac Demarco.
Super crush 100 by Orange! i use the clean Sound mostly. it's really great because it's very transparent but can get close to a fender-style tone if you mess with the EQ. I use that with a harley benton 2x12 vertical slant or a marshall origin 4x12. crazy loud, great on-board reverb, master volume, and a dirty channel that covers ZZ Top to Pantera to Hum (hum sounds are what i use most). the clean channel loves fuzzes, especially shoegaze fuzzes like the shields blender or a big reverb --> big muff combo. if you're using a rack unit like the SPX-90, you can use it like a pedal, but i haven't gotten it to work in the FX loop. all in all, 10/10, highly recommend.
yes, but i got into them on my own. my parents were Fans, but i got into them because i started playing shoegaze with my band (we evolved into this Sound, we started as punk and moved into a mbv/sonic youth/early smashing pumpkins sound). I'm super glad i got into them, and since then my thoughts on pedal order have changed drastically.
