Why planning? Sounds like your skillset would be more useful in ED if you gain some experience or as a generalist project and program manager

Probably the most dangerous part is the drive to the trailhead. Bring microspikes and summit for the sunrise if there is snow. Elbert is a bit far out but if you pick one like Bierstadt there will be a lot of people around. Pack lots of water and Advil for any potential elevation sickness

I would imagine how you view the difference depends on your position in the feds vs. local but generally I would say that my impression as a local gov guy would be that you work more with electeds, local orgs, and community members more often. I would also imagine you’re closer to the CEO in a city than in the Fed which means more autonomy to get things done

I live at sloans lake and love joyride! Short walk from edgewater public market which has lots of dining options too. On that street is a good Thai diner and a pizza shop too!

The collection of these bills is a small but useful step to increase housing density. I disagree with the parking requirements because people don’t use transit and it could allow a developer to flood streets with cars, which is unsafe.

The overall philosophy here is that forcing cities to deregulate will lead to a gradual increase in housing density and the housing supply which will ultimately lower prices in the market. Personally, I don’t feel that it goes far enough. I’d like to see the state say you can build a 4-plex on any lot and 6 story multi-unit on every corridor. I’d also like to see the state limit where cities and counties can expand to in an effort to increase density. Not an affordability measure but I feel that sprawl is a major concern.

While the legislation deregulated some anti-growth zoning laws it fails to address one of the biggest problems in the housing market, the cost of construction. Like it or not, affordable housing isn’t going to happen without massive subsidies to developers. This needs to happen.

There was a proposal to change property taxes on owner unoccupied short term rentals from residential to commercial (same rate hotels pay), about a 400% increase that was introduced this year. It failed miserably

Not single but in a LDR and I really enjoyed my time at Lucina and Bar Dough. Talkative and attentive bar tenders

Best Beer Flights

Looking for the best places to go for a beer flight. Generally, I like places that have a nice variety of different flavors and beer types to try in a flight. Of course, quality above all else. Bonus points for ambience, atmosphere, and proximity to walkable neighborhoods with good food.

I work in local government and this isn’t abnormal.

Single Beer Can Shop

Wondering where the best place is to buy a bunch of single cans of different types of beers from all over the place.

My assertion is that it’s not ok and it hasn’t been for quite a long time. I’m aware they aren’t being intentional, they are being careless and I want them to take a couple easy steps to be more careful. I hike mountaintops and deserts too, ya know what I do then….I find a rock, it’s not that hard. Don’t pretend that it’s impossible.

Thanks for the anatomy lesson. I didn’t know everyone had genitals. That’s not my problem. My problem is that I don’t want to see them on my hike.

The lichen are going to be permanently damaged? I will gladly sacrifice the lichen to not show someone my member

When did it become ok to show someone you’re sausage because you can’t be bothered to get some tree cover?

I’m sorry I didn’t photograph these sorry saps to prove to Reddit that this happens. Going off trail to use the bathroom is not going to cause an environmental catastrophe. It’s gonna be alright mate.

Explains why I see so many genitals on my hikes…

Yes, it actually does sound ridiculous to me. I apologize if my last comment was offensive. I go off trail, relive myself and return and I don’t think it’s a concerning environmental impact

I’m really not sure what people are imagining here because I have a really hard time believing that there is a significant amount of danger from walking off trail in a direction for a minute until you’re out of view, relieving yourself and turning around. I did it 2x today and it was perfectly fine.

Ya I understand that it is advised against and their is good reason for it but as you said going 25 feet off trail for the sake of decency feels like an acceptable middle ground between expeditioning into dangerous parts unknown and showing your junk to passersby. In all of the instances I have witnessed, it was not dangerous to go a bit off trail behind a tree or a rock. I’m not sure what people are imagining when I say this because it sounds ludicrous to me there is this much concern. I myself had to pee 2x and I went off trail to do so. I went straight one direction until I was out of sight. Relived myself and turned around. Ain’t much to it

Well if it happened to you as often as it happens to me maybe you’d think differently. Lots of people making the claim that folks can’t go off trail to relieve themselves because of the high risk or danger and environmental devastation but I don’t see any evidence of it and I find it hard to believe.

I really find it hard to believe that the throng standing between us and environmental deviation is people staying as close to a trail as possible to do their bizness. I’m gonna need some stats are something to support this claim that if you go 25 yards off trail your chances of dying or getting lost are significantly higher. Seems absolutely ridiculous to me

I really don’t see what the danger is but as long as I don’t have to see your package, I don’t care where you deliver it

Seriously, I never considered that. I usually just take out my binos and stare until they run away

Alsoooo, it being a human body is quite literally my problem. I wouldn’t be complaining it it was a squirrel
