The Xiao Long Bao PilgrimageRestaurant Reviews

My friend and I took a long voyage around East Denver and Aurora yesterday in order to find the best possible soup dumplings. Below are our findings. Please note we are not experts (being neither Chinese nor chefs), so if you disagree, that's fine! And if you have any personal favorites, please share--we only went to four spots, so we know there's much more to explore.

Gluten free pizzaLooking For Recommendations

Looking for some recs for good gluten free pizza, specifically crusts.

I’m super bummed about Pizzeria locale closing, that was my go-to! I also loved homegrown tap & dough, but I think they changed their gf crust. Now that the Wash Park location is closed, I tried the Arvada one, and was really disappointed.

One recommendation of my own is Snowpack taproom & pizzeria, great crust, but it’s also on the far side of Conifer, so not really accessible on a daily basis.

Restaurant with the best wings and burgers?

I'll be having surgery soon, and while it shouldn't be anything high risk, it could be a while before I feel well enough to go out again. I want the best wings and burger I can get at one location. Just looking for the classics here, traditional buffalo wings, a bacon cheeseburger, and good fries. Any suggestions?

Best Farmer's Market?Looking For Recommendations

Recently moved to the Denver area and was looking for some farmers markets. I've always enjoyed locally sourced ingredients and the vibes of open-air markets. I'm pretty much in the center of Denver and don't mind a bit of a drive to get to a nice market. Are there any you guys would recommend? Any that you opt to avoid?

Thanks in advance!!

hazelnut dessertsLooking For Recommendations

On a trip to Italy a couple years ago, my boyfriend fell in love with all the hazelnut gelato + pastries we found there. We’ve had trouble finding anything similar around here for the most part. For ice cream/gelato, it’s easy to find chocolate hazelnut/nutella flavors, but he’s just looking for pure hazelnut and hasn’t had much luck (aside from one place in Highlands Ranch which is a bit of a trek for us but worth it). Not sure where to even start when it comes to pastries or if it’s even possible to find anything like that here.

Anyone have any suggestions for hazelnutty treats? We’ve also thought about trying to make our own if anyone knows of some good recipes :)

The bagel deli review Restaurant Reviews

So after being told to try Leven’s (thank you) i did and i was amazed, it was my first pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had! When I ordered take out the sandwich was perfectly wrapped, there was a lot of meat yet it was composed. After speaking with one of the lovely staffers they gave me a free additional cookie! This was 2-3 weeks ago.

Today, I had an additional $25 to spend so I wanted to try the bagel deli. It’s been on my food bucket list, today was the day. I ordered take out, really excited to try it. I open it and there’s a lot of pastrami. A lot of pastrami. And since they don’t wrap their sandwiches, it’s in a to-go box so there’s pastrami in the small pockets of the to go box, and just everywhere. I didn’t mind this, however I wish it was a little more neat instead of more meat

I appreciate them cutting the sandwich in half as well. As I pick it up there’s a bunch of meat hanging out my mouth and the texture is similar to bacon. But after 2-3 bites, I wasn’t really feeling it. It was really greasy, I also would’ve preferred for the side sauce to be placed on the sandwich for me.

The fries were okay really dry, the potato salad was good and the tossed salad was good.

I gave Leven’s a 9/10, I’d give this one a 6/10 not that it was bad it just wasn’t all that. It felt like I was eating a greasy meat sandwich not a pastrami sandwich. Would I order it again? No. But I will go back and try a different dish.

Going to be flying in this morning, any recommendations?Looking For Recommendations

Hi! So me and my family will be flying into Denver very early this morning (flight got changed last minute to arriving at 4:30 a.m. lol). We’re looking for some good brunch places for the day before we go to a Costco (none specifically) for some supplies before we head out to Estes Park afterwards. I know that it may come off ignorant since Denver’s a massive region, but we’re not locals and I’d just appreciate if anyone has any helpful recommendations for us. We’re not super picky but options that aren’t too pricey/bougie would be ideal. Thank you!

Good restaurants or spots near Lakewood?

All of my friends always want to hang out and do things in downtown area which I try to avoid at all cost. Is there any good food spots with good alcoholic beverages near the Lakewood ( Arvada , Littleton , wheat ridge or just anywhere not downtown) area that has the best food and is nice for the girls ? TYIA

Fancy (but not crazy) date night spots?

My boyfriend and I just moved to Denver and our anniversary is coming up. We want to do a fancy dinner to celebrate, definitely a romantic spot that you’d want to get dressed up for and get reservations. But also at the same time, he and I aren’t impressed by those overly fancy places. I guess the best way I can sum this up is we’re down for the dinner for the two of us to be $150 (or a little more) and we want to dress up, but when you start getting into the Michelin places that get really adventurous with the meal and such small portions is where you start to lose me. With that being said, any recommendations? Open to anything, but steakhouses and Italian are always favorites

Very raw burgersLooking For Recommendations

I like my burgers very raw. Uncooked. Mooing. Cold. At most, kiss the grill 30 secs each side. Ideally much less.

That means very freshly ground meat and perfect hygiene in the kitchen, of course. And thick patties.

Anyone with similar taste found the Graal?

Anniversary Lunch

My wife and I are looking for a really good food spot to celebrate our anniversary but we're forgoing a typical dinner and wanted to get lunch to avoid any crowds. All suggestions are welcome! Thank you!

E: Thanks for all the responses. We have some good options here.

Reasonable Sushi Takeout Options?

Can anyone recommend a decent place to get sushi takeout in Denver, ideally for <$30 per person?

Every time I ask people about good sushi spots I get told to go to places like sushi den, temaki den, uchi, bamboo sushi, etc. I’ve been to all of those places and they have great sushi and are great for date nights. But they also cost anywhere between $50-$150 per person.

What I’m looking for is a fast casual/takeout place that serves up decent sushi for a reasonable amount of $ whenever I randomly have a sushi craving. I’m not the pickiest eater, and I’ve tried searching Google maps but even a place with 4.6 stars (Yuki Taki near Highlands) was just awful. I’ve resorted to Sprouts for sushi now but can’t say that is all that great either.

Any tips? Thanks in advance ya’ll!

Looking for Denvers best seared tuna

Salad, sandwich, served with rice, whatever. I love seared tuna if it is cooked properly but haven't found that spot in town.

Uno Mas on 6th - what’s next?

Anyone know what the plan is for the closed uno mas location in Alamo placita on 6th?

Looking for dinner recommendations from people who eat a really healthy whole food diet like we do!

In downtown Denver, looking for any recommendations for those that are really conscious of what they eat, we are not vegan/vegetarian, we do eat unprocessed meats like chicken breast/steak/fish that is responsibly sourced, but often times the vegan restaurants are the ones that have the good organic local farm to table stuff. Totally good with a plant-based meal too. We cook everything from scratch at home and eating out rarely tastes as good or even close. Would love to find a Denver spot that makes their food from scratch and uses local ingredients. Thanks in advance for reading!

Brunch places walkable from downtown Looking For Recommendations

Going to be staying at the Tru by Hilton downtown (801 15th St, Denver) and looking for brunch suggestions that we can walk to from there.

Thanks!
