For generation ships - that's a loooooong way out. I can see space habitats, even mobile ones, made from hollowed-out asteroids spun up for gravity, ferrying folks around in-system. But without a magic constant acceleration engine like the Epstein drive or FTL travel, it would simply take too long. By the time the ship got to alpha centauri, it would be like 10k years later. Let that sink it. That's longer than recorded human history. If you think a society in a bubble could stay stable for that long... there's simply no way.

Your 5th bullet speaks to me. In the more chaotic melee fighting in HW2 it was easy to select my whole mixed fleet and set them to attack the enemy, and I was reasonably certain that they would intelligently target appropriately.

Agree with the mission auto-finishing. I, too, enjoy lingering in the arena and harvesting every last iota of dust, ensuring all my ships are fully repaired and ready to roll. Even if the game does that automatically for me, I prefer to do it myself and RP into it a bit.

Honest question related to all the folks saying Thou Shalt Not Crash a Ride: What really is the difference between a ride and a crash? From what I understand, it is really just a weight thing. You can have thin or heavy crashes or rides, but realistically, it's just an arbitrary label we put on cymbals. Larger diameter tend to be heavier, and heavier cymbals have a certain sound profile that we label as ride. Some are kinda in between and sound good in either role.
