Shouldn't that really be StarNet-- ?
When they warned us that most of the heat stored on the earth from global warming was going into the oceans, they weren't, ya' know, joking.
Heartbroken that the sound is now far better and doesn't rip off your window when you drive away?
A good man always knows his limitations.
I, for one, would make a horrible president, and I know it.
I think you're memory has gotten a little selective. The 70s were hotter overall than the 80s, just as hot as the 90s, and nearly as hot as the 00s.
I remember last year on this sub opining that crowning Julio as the second coming of Griffey might be premature. That he had to establish himself over more than one or two good seasons.
I remember getting hammered for the insinuation.
Well, let's see what happens, shall we?
Edit: Nice to see nothing has changed.
You can even, gasp, manage to judge people not by their generation but by the individual ideals they personally hold.
What a concept.
My mother was born in 1942.
What exactly are you inferring here?
I have lived here since 1973. All you folks claiming you didn't need A/C before 2000 don't remember the same weather I do.

It is absolutely getting hotter overall, no doubt, and there's a lot more red in that map over the last decade, but having at least one heat wave with triple digits every year has been the norm for a long time. I was working my first job in high school outside on the asphalt in 1981 on August 10th when we had a 4 day stretch over 103, topping out at 107.
Your mother is an incel living in his parent's basement in hell, Karras!
And, of course, "The power of Reddit compels you! The power of Reddit compels you!"
Maybe we should invent writing first.
I'm in agreement more or less here, and I'm getting much the same reception when I post about it 'round these parts.
That is not the fault of the Supreme court, who should not be taking this into consideration.
Edit: Apparently lots of redditors, in downvoting this particular comment, believe that the SC should be interpreting the Constitution in light of what the two major political parties might not be willing to do with their enumerated powers.
That's just fucked up, folks.
TIL ayahuasca is an exotic propulsion mechanism.
"Hey Brandine, I think I done busted up my stank bone! "
Useless west of the Rockies, where open flame campfires are a thing of the past during the summer months.
Hell, Phoenix at 115 is STILL better than Mississippi at 90.
I'm in my 7th decade now. My first memory of American politics was Watergate. Gloom and doom always gets tempered by time removed from the events.
This will not bring down the republic.
That is the power of Reddit.
You'll get 98% knee jerk uninformed opinions from angry smooth brains with terminal Dunning-Kreuger. Then you'll find that hidden gem in the waste heap from someone who actually Knows What They're Talking About.
Now if only you blokes could learn to speak it ...
The now-gutted EPA raises its hand.
I've owned an Ovation now for at least 30 years. I've gotten older and put on some weight, which is why I went into Guitar Center last weekend and replaced it.
It's not that it slips off my lap so much as that it refuses to square up against my body. There's no way - sitting, standing with a strap, leaning back on the couch - to keep the fretboard at the proper angle for my wrist without wrestling with the instrument the whole time I'm playing.
I always thought the sound was good, especially amplified - nice and crisp, not tinny, reasonably resonant for a body it's size. Playability was decent and the action good. It has always had a bit of an intonation issue, especially on the low E string that drove me to start exploring sweetened tunings.
So it isn't my forever guitar, and now occupies the "throw it in the bag for a camping trip" slot in my playing life. Before you buy one, I strongly encourage that you play it for yourself first, keeping these issues in mind.
I'm considering getting an Ovation. Are they really as bad as people say?
