Thoughts on this dress plzz? Planning to get this dress for my bridesmaids.
Dress/AttireYou should probably ask the bridesmaids in question, since they're the ones who would wear it. My personal opinion is that I like the bold colors, but those dresses don't look super well made, the fit seems awkward on what is a posed photo of super skinny models. So I would have concerns about how they will actually look and fit.
That was my thought as well. The fabric looks a little cheap and the dress poorly constructed. If OP's bridesmaids have any kind of curves or isn't that exact body type, it's not going to fit well.
Yeah I mean it already seems a bit ill-fitting in this picture, which we can reasonably think is made to show the dress in its best light. So I'd be worried about how it'll look in "real life"
And they are def a trend that may not age well
If your bridesmaids aren’t this exact body type please don’t do this to them
These don't look like they even fit the women pictured correctly. There is lots of extra fabric at the bust cup area that probably should have been tailored.
The colors not lining up is also a sure sign it’s cheap
Or blonde lol. Light yellow/peachy colors look a lot better on blondes than brunettes.
The puckered seams suggest bad workmanship and make the dresses look cheap. Consider seeing if other brands have similar dresses with better sewing.
I have essentially the body type of the people in the photo, and I wouldn’t be comfortable wearing this. I likely wouldn’t be able to wear a bra, and the fabric looks very thin.
these dresses need spanx and a slip under them or else they just clingy to the weirdest spots. so unless the person is committed to this look - asking them to wear this and be sweaty/uncomfy all day or feel self conscious is a big ask lol
Why couldn’t you wear sticky boobs or a strapless deep v bra with this? I can’t see the back totally, but there may even be a strapped bra that would work for this dress. If you don’t currently own one that would work, that’s different, but I don’t think the dress seems bra-inhibiting outright.
Sorry to say this… but aren’t there better alternatives?
I found this pretty quickly as an alternative. Much better color blending, the fit is more forgiving and the seams are not as harsh.
This a great find! And a decent price, and something that can easily be worn again to another summer event or even a night out on vacation because it’s not over the top and a pretty classic style.
This design should also be comfortable for everyone no matter the body type.
This is SOO NOT the same vibe at all.
Yea this is pretty! Love it! It’s all about the fit 👍🏻
Much better!
Looks cheap tbh. Can tell by the harsh seam transition
was gonna say the same! i find it jarring that the ombre doesnt line up anywhere
There was something that didn't seem right, and that is exactly it. If they had matched the fabric, it would be so much nicer. It makes it too colour block-y when it's supposed to be an ombre effect.
Sorry to be so negative, but if I'm honest, both the colors and the style wouldn't flatter a lot of people. Not even the models. They all can wear that style easily, but I don't think the dress or the colors look flattering on any of them. They're so bright and there's so much color, you don't see the women at all. The colors are kind of painfully hard on the eyes.
I like the color if you are doing a summer/tropical vibe.
Unfortunately, that is about the only thing I like. These dresses are not flattering. They will stick to weird spots, and if your girls have anything on their chest, they will be at risk of flashing everyone. The dress also looks cheaply made.
No offense but this dress is so cheap looking. The color change should not be so glaring at the side seams
This looks like something that would flatter only a very slim body type. Would that be an issue for any of your bridesmaids?
To add to what everyone is saying… these photos are also edited. You can see where the waists are pinched in.
Anyway, regarding the style, personally I could do without the different coloured bra/bodice section. It would be much more elegant if it was in the same colour as the rest of the fabric and just had an ombré hem.
Agreeing with others that as a sir-mix-a-lot lauded type body, this would look wretched on me. Why not do each bridesmaid in one of these sunny colors to create the mixture?
sir-mix-a-lot lauded type body
This comment deserves its flowers
It’s definitely very specific and I’d be worried if you have bridesmaids who are all different shapes, sizes and skin tones.
I dont think it would be something they cant really rewear so you may want to consider purchasing it for them
What’s the price?
my boobs would never in a million years fit into any size of this dress
Yeah I think that fabric would cover like....30% of my boob surface area?
It just reminds me of popsicles, that’s fine I guess if you’re going for that
I was thinking orange sherbet.
I call this color combo sherbet and I love it. Except I love it as a shimmery nail polish or an embroidered blouse.
Same. First word that came to my mind was sherbet.
My one year old has a dress that looks almost exactly like this, but it fades pink to yellow to green. We call it her creamsicle dress.
I actually don’t have an issue with the dress style and cut, as I assume you know your crowd, and I love the vibes for a summer wedding. I just hate the contrasting hot pink boob panels. If the gown was entirely ombré, it would be so beautiful and chic. But to me, the weird contrasting panels make the overall look too childish and immature for a wedding.
Edit to add: The badly aligned fabric and puckered seams are also a sign of poor quality clothes, so definitely find a better made option.
I think the colour is nice, but construction looks cheap.
They look like sherbets. I would advise against it as the unmatched seams look low quality and only a certain body type would feel comfortable wearing this cut and fabric
uhh i have a 32 i cup and can’t imagine my friends making me wear this. so if any of ur brides maids are curvy or over a dd cup id rethink bc they’re gonna be having muffin top boob situations😅
I like the ombre, but maybe something with a bit more customization would be nicer?
Not OP, but I love this ombre, and eShakti is known for being able to customize however needed. Great alternative suggestion.
Love the idea of an ombré look, but this dress seems very cheaply made.
Looks like it would only be flattened on a size 0 or 2.
Flattering
These dresses are too busy in my opinion
dont
Horrific. Only if you hate them.
I personally like them but if you’re worried about what people are saying here, you could def have one bridesmaid wear this, and the rest could pick a dress that has the colors within that dress! So one in a hot pink dress, one in a yellow tone, one in an orange dress, etc. It would achieve the same look but would allow for people to dress to suit their body types!
I love the idea of tequila sunrise colours! I agree that the cut looks like it would be tough to pull off, but it depends on the bodies. Love the boldness, though, and I’d love to see it at a wedding.
I'm glad we can all come together and say "I see the vision but I don't think you'll like them that much when you see how weird they are in person". I'm so glad this sub is respectful but honest!
It’s very pretty but would only work well with very slim bridesmaids.
I personally LOVE this for a summer wedding! You know your crowd best, good luck!
Looks home made by a beginner. Hard NO!
Like them for dinner or a summer vacay but looks too on trend for bridesmaids imo you’ll probably look back and feel like it’s dated in 2y
I like the style and the colors are fun for a beach wedding. My only knock against it is the fact that whoever made the dress made the front one color and the back another, the harsh color transition seems strange on a dress that's supposed to be a melting sunset.
I personally would love it, but it’s very bold. I’d ask your party what they think and actually be ok with another dress if their answer is negative.
The onbre is harsh: looks a bit cheap
If all your bridesmaids are flat chested, might work. As someone who is not, I spent my 20’s trying on dresses like this expecting them to look like the photo and . . . I looked like I was auditioning for porn instead.
People are kinda mean, it’s your wedding, if you like them and the bridesmaids are comfortable wearing them, do it. I would wear it (I’m a size 12), but it definitely requires some spanx because slip dresses usually accentuate the wrong spots. I wouldn’t mind tho.
This is the kind of dress which flatters a very small chunk of the population. I'm reasonably athletic, and I'm not one of those people. Please consider your bridesmaids, their coloring, structure, and confidence level.
It would be very easy for these dresses to wear them.
I think this dress is only cute because the girls are cute and tan. I could see this color scheme going soooo wrong on so many other types of people.
Bold colors are fun, but these dresses are cheap looking in their execution, particularly the harsh transition at every seam. I’d say they’re not the one!
This has late 90s prom vibes. Hard no.
They look cheap. Love the colors but the fabric is a big no. Especially if it's hot.
We went to a wedding where the bridesmaids were in this type of fabric. There came a point during the mass where they had to stand. They were in a pew a couple rows ahead of us. When they all stood up you could see a trickle stain of sweat right down to their butt cracks. It was bad.
These colors are very unique and would only look good on certain people. All due respect, I’d be annoyed if my friend made me wear a sherbet colored dress.
This is so cute! Might I recommend seeing if you can purchase the fabric wholesale and work with a tailor/etsy arty/craftsperson etc to have the dress better customized to your bridesmaids bodies :) if you really love the colors and want to make it work, it's just an idea. I really love the colors that's something I don't often see in bridal party dresses and it's pretty!
I think the color is pretty, but if you have girls that are anything but a very thin body type they're going to feel extremely uncomfortable and it will probably be quite revealing if they're not wanting to show a lot of cleavage. If you like the cut and the colors, you could search for some v-neck a line bridesmaids dresses and maybe consider mismatched colors that go with all of the ones in the dresses you show?
I really like very unique

Ar least make them be the same colour, not like they’ve been bleached by mistake. I don’t like them, honestly.
Honestly I like it!!!!!!

Hi there, thank you for contributing. We know concerns around weight and body image often crop up during wedding planning, and we want to be a supportive place for that. We also know that these topics can be highly triggering, so we want to be sensitive in how we approach these discussions. Part of that includes avoiding stating your current or goal weight, or your current or goal size. Sharing those numbers and then talking about negative feelings about them can be challenging for other people who weigh that amount or wear clothes in that size (or bigger). Not only does it inadvertently imply that they should also feel bad about their size/weight, but it can also lead to fewer helpful responses for you.
Due to these reasons, please edit out the direct references to size/weight. We also do not allow medical advice here, including weight loss advice, so please edit out any weight loss suggestions. You may either edit your comment to be within our rules and send us a ModMail, or you may re-submit an edited comment.
Thank you for helping us to keep Weddit a safe place for everyone.
I don’t think this dress would be flattering on 99% of body types - it’s not even super flattering on the models in the posed and edited photos.
I think a peachy, ombré dress could be really pretty! But I don’t think the quality of this one makes it look good.
As a super pale girlie who is a size 10, I would have to spend a lot of time in therapy processing the fact that I have to wear this at a close friend’s wedding.
Noooo looks cheap and weird style to force on different body types
They’re pretty awful, ngl.
I’m in the minority I guess but I love it. The color is so fun and reminds me of a sunset

It’ll look awful on others
I wouldn't do it. Looks like a fruit smoothie, and the cut is not flattering on the boobs of even the women in this picture. I'd go with something less loud.
Agree with others, you can spot how cheap these dresses are from a mile away!
Everyone has covered the fabric type so I won’t add to that. I would say some colours look better on certain skin tones. Depending on your bridesmaids, and what suits them, you can make your decision.
Kinda looks like a walking mimosa dress lol
Something to keep in mind is that these models are between sizes 0 to 2 it doesn’t look like it stretches or is very forgiving . I would just ask your bridesmaids for their input
If you like the ombre pink look I've rented this dress on nuuly before and it fit beautifully: https://www.dillards.com/p/adelyn-rae-satin-ombre-pleated-one-shoulder-sleeveless-asymmetrical-hem-midi-dress/518347233?sku=0227353&googleShop=Y&srsltid=AfmBOorEcfLVzxIZutP8VTvd2BoI8inoOhiY0G5eZUW2QOZ58wFPchjNmEs
Obsessed with this! Those colors are 🫶🏻
The dresses look cheaply made and will not look good on most people.
I love them! Are your bridesmaids ok with the cut though? I mean are they comfortable wearing something like this with their body type.
The colors are fun- but the fabric/color doesn’t look like it will be suitable for most people.
- The way the dress hangs makes it clear it will stick to every lump & bump. Unless all of your bridesmaids are very thin this will not be flattering 😅
- I LOVE these colors- but unfortunately I know that I would look like death warmed over if I wore something so bright 😅 if you have bridesmaids who are cool toned there’s a good chance this is going to wash them out.
My suggestion (if you want it) is to pick a few colors you like and let the bridesmaids pick out different styles and shades.
it will look great on that body type in the photo but i would not be excited to wear it as someone w D cups
I think it’s cute now and will look outdated once you look back at pictures in a couple of years.
I think it’s fun! But super hard to find a dress that fits everyone’s body shape. Are you opposed to mismatching bridesmaid dresses to get this same color scheme?
In California yes. I’ve worked 1000 weddings. I would say no cause it looks like adult gowns to me: low end lingerie. You want the bridesmaids to be neutral and not take away from the bride. Low make up, nothing sparkly. Nothing bold. Thats the brides job. We shouldn’t remember what they wore.
You should make sure everyone is okay with showing cleavage.
Love it! But that style of dress probably doesn’t fit all body types or accommodate various breast sizes. That’s why I always love the idea of picking a dress color and allowing bridesmaids to get different styles of dresses in the same color — Lulu’s is a good site for that.
It reminds me a sherbet ice cream. It’s really fun.
It’s super cute but I have to agree with some of the other comments. That shape isn’t going to be flattering on everyone. I also want to note it’s going to look dated pretty quickly. That may or may not bother you. My girls wore velvet dresses so I’m sure that’ll be dated in a few years.
CUTE!!
Do you hate your friends?
I kid…I kid. But no seriously. Are your friends built like models?
I don’t think those will look good on everyone at all. These girls happen to all have warm skin tones, so if you have any pale friends at all it’s gonna look rough
Personally, I think they're pretty but they look like they're more for a prom or formal dance type event instead of a wedding.
If you have a younger wedding party, i think it would be adorable. Weddings are supposed to be fun
I think these are super cute and complement the girls in the photo really well. May want to consider the skin tones, hair colors, and body types of your specific bridesmaids though as this style and color may not suit everyone
Loooooove this 🩷
Bahah Amazon bot! 🤖
Nope… just a tall, fluffy “Amazon” woman making light of Amazon Prime. Lol
Edit: who happens to be a wedding photographer and loves this dress and would love to capture a bridal party like this!
Much better use of the word! Cheers.
I wouldn't because some colors don't look good certaom body tpea, same and patterns.
Personally I don’t like them. I feel like when you look back on your pictures you will cringe
Those dresses look good on maybe 0.001 percent of the population. I wouldn’t wear it if I was your bridesmaid. The best thing you can do for them is to give them a color and let them pick a dress that suits their body type and something they feel comfortable and confident wearing.
If I was asked to wear this, I know I’d be super uncomfortable.
The colors are cute, but the material is not forgiving and it doesn’t look like it was made for someone with a full chest (which is my situation). I don’t see how I could wear a supportive enough bra.
I love the color but the style isn’t for everyone. I’m a big fan of everyone choosing their own style.
No. Just no
I feel like this is probably one of those things that looks great in the pic on models but probably wouldn’t work for the majority of people.
The caption is so f*cking weird. The Asian girl on the right side makes it even weirder.
love it
I think if it matches your colors, vibes, & are flattering to all your bridesmaids then go for it! I love the ombre of them!
It’s giving sherbet ice cream, definitely ask the bridesmaids for their honest opinion tho!
If I have to think of the 2000s, this picture comes to my mind 😄 But regardless, they are otherwise beautiful!
Something like this might be more flattering and it comes in a wide range of sizes
THIS DRESS LOOKS SO PRETTY! Yess
Holy 2004 batman.
Look - whatever floats your boat. But this is not a forgiving cut.
