Good morning PCMR!
To help celebrate the launch of our latest keyboard platform, we wanted to stop by and offer a few of these boards to the fine folks of PC Master Race. :)
CSTM80 features a magnetically-attached top case for easy customization (hence the name, “CSTM”), along with a bevy of foams for sound tuning, and easy access to swap plates, weight, switches, stabilizers, etc. Winners will have their choice of prebuilt board, selecting either linear (Gateron Yellow KS3) or tactile (Gateron Brown Pro 3.0) switches.
Drop CSTM80 Keyboard Collection:LINK(decorative top cases, weights, plates)
Given the theme of this board (customization, easily swapped top cases), I’d love to hear what media/theme/inspiration you think would work well on a keyboard top case. Could be your favorite movie, TV show, landscape scenery, hobby, anything like that. If you don’t want to share that, that’s fine too! Any response will be entered into the drawing. Winner will be selected with RedditRaffler on Thursday, October 19th, at 3pm CDT.
How to enter:

I currently has a 60% coolermaster keyboard and it's either pressing double key or not responding. I mean granted it's a $5 addon of a new pc, but still. Lol.
My ideal keyboard would include a 65% layout. Thick heavy metal base, textured PBT caps, suble white RGB lighting and a thicc braided type C cable. Das it mane
I'd do black and red and make it look my jeep grill as that's the only hobby I have besides my pcs. One is on my semi and is a pre-built and is almost 4 years old and is a sff and my main beast is at home and I keep having to switch all my peripherals.
Gateron Yellows should be nice to use!!! I enjoy mountain landscape views couple with blues. But from the options above the board with the vines looks very cool!
What about doing a seasonal series? Yellow, orange, and red for fall (fall leaves); white, blue, and black for winter (snowy mountains); pastel green, yellow, and pink (something for wildflowers) for spring; white, yellow, and blue for summer (beach).
Wow what a cool design idea. Refreshing in the hobby. I like a lord of the rings theme myself. Big fan but never been able to get much of the merch due to costs. Maybe a simple cover would be cool
Oh these are sexy! My ideal one would have a gunmetal grey case, light tan colored key caps with black printing for the main caps (like the ones on the third image), and black accent keycaps. No graphics or designs on the case to keep it clean.
ive always like the lotR key caps, cant decide if i want elf or dwarf. i already have a bad headphone collection going on, im ready for another unhealthy keyboard addiction.
My crazy keyboard idea is an entire board made out of silicon, simply because I need my “drop” products to survive extreme drops :P
But if I won and had the option to customize, I’d go with the overgrowth case and the chroma weight (since it would match nicely with the connectors on my cable)
Why has nobody dropped the keys like this before so I don't have to tilt the kb to see the keys? Thx for thinking of those who game in low light conditions.
Just saw /u/badseedtech's review of this board - seems like a really excellent entry in the price point for bare bones and complete customs. Great stuff!
Truthfully, the Shinkai Green plate is an excellent top case for this, especially with the right key caps. I've really taken to rooms and spaces decorated with warm neutral tones, green accents, warm lighting, live plants and light wood tones. This goes perfectly like that - could be an awesome Christmas gift for the wife in a scheme like that.
As far as additional customization in the future? Some sort of older race car livery or color scheme might be really interesting! The Toyota Group A "Castrol" livery or color scheme, Alitalia's Lancia Stratos, The Gulf Ford GT40, Falken's current livery, Martini Racing, the old BMW M CSL, Mazda's Renown, THE APPLE COMPUTERS PORSCHE 935! These are iconic and eye catching schemes, even in old grainy photographs. On the right keyboard with the right lighting accents? I bet it could be really slick!
Not sure tbf. Pc is white with black accents. Feels like black one with white lines would fit well. White keys might be too much. The pad is black over the table and the table is white. What do you think?
I've been shopping recently for akeyboard and it wasn't particularly easy to find something that checked all my expectations. Gotta have wrist rest, UK layout, dedicated volume control, preferably knob, needs to be quiet, needs backlight without any bloatware attached. I think my expectations are quite high because I couldn't find one without a compromise :(. Honestly I don't care if its full or without numpad, but small 60% without F-keys is a no no for me.
Idk if it’s even possible but I think a transparent one would be really neat! I loved my transparent N64 controller, GBC and GBA back in the day. But would prob have to design everything underneath to be transparent as well for it to really work. Maybe one day.
Would love a Loki theme, but after the TV show. So that cool 60s/70s retro future style with the oranges and wood grain. Maybe a bit of Aperture Desk Job style in there. It's also in that 60s 70s style.
I’m praying for a win here, i kinda need a new keyboard after my old one. It used to be my friends until they switched to a membrane keyboard of all things.
Honestly, I was pretty surprised when I opened the sample I received. It looks quite classy with the pseudo blank look without LED, and then the side lighting on the keycaps is 👌
I would love a cherry blossom inspired top case. It would go real great with black-white or red-white or rose-white colour combination. Got to be the perfect theme for me.
