I average about 13,000 steps a day in my ER.
Thanks. Almost got written up for wearing these. 😏
I have like 4 different pairs of NSFW work socks 😂 several gifted to me by nurse friends
My favorite are Blue Q socks and items.
Whoever reported you for your socks can suck a big fat donkey dick, no fucks given 😁
Honestly, how close are they looking to read those socks that are likely hidden under pants most of the time? Screw that person lol, they're just hunting for things to report.
There’s one person on every floor.
My new theory is if everyone else finds it funny and one person doesn’t, maybe management should have a talk with the only person who doesn’t find it funny.
More importantly, they need a serious talk from management and HR about why reporting people you don’t like to try and get them fired is an extremely unprofessional behavior. Because that can be a very real consequence of reporting this kind of thing. A job is someone’s livelihood. You want someone to have trouble paying bills and lose their health insurance because you don’t like them? I’ve been reported for the dumbest things… like FARTING. That’s a special kind of horrible for someone to lose their job because someone didn’t like them farting. (See my flair above, not a joke.)
I never understood the whole reporting one another for such simple things. Its like are you really that petty or have that much time at work to report such a minor insignificant thing? Karens man I swear, it was probably that 50 year old nurse who is DAISY hunting or salty because she is still rocking her ADN even though the hospital will pay for a BSN or higher.
Farting? Like, what? What if you have IBS, Crohns, Celiac, or the other many digestive issues? Perhaps you’re just gassy. People are dumb.
Lmao 🤣
You can get written up for that?! Seriously work with people who wear crocs. Even the ones with the holes in them. Drives me nuts.
Seriously? My boss always wears two different very colorful socks to work, just to piss off the one uptight nurse who hates everyone
Do you have a link for those socks lol?
My socks actually spell out the words lol so I have to make sure I never have high waters or something. What up, Blueq!
You get almost written up for socks that almost no one pays attention to or is always covered in shoes. Micro managers must have some LDL with you.
😒
I have the cloud runner shoes and omg they are great. I also work in the ER. I've had mine for maybe 5 months now.
I hated them when I tried them on. I could feel every one of those bumps.
My on clouds got destroyed too but not that much lol. Im a PCA in medsurg about 10-12k steps/shift. Tbh dont think i would repurchase them
Neither am I
New balance and call it a day!
I clean residential houses for a living (am a nursing student as well) and I wear New Balance. They’re the most comfortable and long-lasting shoes I’ve ever worn and I’ve cleaned for close to 20 years. I’ll never wear anything else.
This is the way!
My last new balances broke down quick. The back of shoe got exposed and was trying to saw off my achilles. Not buying from them again.
That's what I'm wearing in med surg, recommended by the chiropodist who made insoles for me. Honestly, they're a lot more supportive.
Crocs is the way!
I had a pair of in clouds start peeling after 2 months of wear and through their quality guarantee, they sent me a new pair free of charge. I wouldn’t buy that style again, but it was nice to have another pair for free.
Shoes that expensive should not be anywhere near coming apart in 2 months no matter how good their guarantees or how much you use them.
FWIW, my boyfriend purchased on clouds less than a year ago, maybe even as recent as 6 months ago, and his are already ripping like this too. And he’s not a nurse. He works from home.
Same my on clouds fell apart faster than my adidas, Nikes, or pumas I buy for under 70 dollars when I need a work shoe. On clouds are comfortable tho, just look terrible.
Adidas ultraboosts.... I will never buy a different shoe. I have the 4Ds now
I don’t walk as many steps as you, but I found Brooks to be more comfortable and much more durable than the oncloulds.
I work in the OR and by almost exclusively Burks, but they definitely did not last more than a few months before the heal material gets holes. I think comfy premium material is just not really durable.
BROOKS, I meant BROOKS
Go to a certified Birkenstock repairman (many shoe repair places have a certified Birkenstock repairman). You can get the different parts of your shoe that may be effected fixed without having to replace the whole shoe! I’ve done this with several pairs of my Birkenstocks. 2 of which I’ve had for 18 years. They’re worth the investment if you know where to go/what to use to extend the life of the whole shoe!
which birks do you get? i wear birkenstocks pretty much exclusively off the clock
I’ve been wearing the Birkenstock Tokyo Super Grip for about 8 years. I’ve worn them the in ICU, inpatient periop, outpatient periop settings. Highly recommend!
+1 vouch for Brooks. Almost at a year of 4 weekly 12,000+ steps and they’re still basically brand new outside of some blood and fecal stains
These are the real life reviews we need!
I’m needing new shoes and willing to spend about anything for comfort, quality and durability!
Comfort is really good! But as you see durability is not there.
If you never wear them anywhere else you got about a million steps in, which is like 2-3 hundred thousand more than what a solid pair of shoes will last.
Everyone here is kinda blasting the quality, but honestly, this is a little bit of a promotion I think. Plus you say they are comfy. I’d rather replace comfy shoes every 7 months than not comfy ones lasting a year
You have a good point! It’s kinda crazy how many miles we walk.
Yeah consider the fact that these are running shoes, meant to be worn when doing such activities - NOT constantly being on your feet in them for 12 hour shifts multiple days a week etc
Wow! Didn’t know this. Thank you.
Yeah 7 months is pretty good IMO.
My brooks held up just fine for over a year and I work in the ER
Seriously? Don’t think your attitude is necessary
If they still feel comfortable they’re fine. I don’t care how many miles they’re “designed” for.
I haven’t started wearing my On Clouds yet! But my Adidas Ultraboosts lasted me 6 years 🥴
Assuming you’re walking (and only walking, no standing being included) 13,000 steps per day, that’s roughly 8 miles per shift, again without standing. Again assuming you’re working only the standard 3 shifts per week, 4 weeks per month, that’s 96 miles per month of walking only. Multiply that by 7 months, that’s 672 miles of walking only. Thats almost 200 miles more than most running and even walking shoes are designed and rated for.
Shoes aren’t meant to last forever and when you’re putting this much pressure on them, they’re going to fall apart, or you’re going to wear down the soles and insoles much faster than you even realize. Good foot support costs money and not having it when you’re working like this risks your joints, muscles, and back. The only shoe really that will stand up to this is something like danskos which are solid footbeds but even then those would need replacing at this rate.
I’m on my 4th pair of On’s averaging similar steps per shift. I started buying the Dr. Scholl’s gel insoles every 4-6 months and it makes them feel brand new again. I get a little over a years use per pair now as long as the fabric and stuff are holding up now. $20 is way better than ~ $140 per year.
Yes! I love my Dr. Scholl’s PF insoles.
I did the math on my shoes- it’s about 607 miles/year. I have two years, over 1200 miles, on my Hokas that have some tread wear but no holes in the mesh or soles splitting. That’s about my average for all my work shoes no matter the brand. I had my Air Max for two years and only tossed them because I stepped on a thumbtack and the bag deflated lol.
I posted elsewhere on this thread that those holes on top of the shoes come from lifting the brake arm on the cart with the top of your foot instead of stepping down on the other end of the arm. I had two pair of shoes do this when I worked ED and as soon as I stopped doing that, no more holes. The sole can be fixed with an adhesive like shoe goo, E6000, etc and get many more months out of them.
I think the consensus really is that even if the shoe looks intact, the amount of wear on the actual soles and internal supports degrades the quality and can lead to further problems over time. It’s kind of one of those times where even though you can, you should ask yourself if you really should. We only get one life and one body and bedside nursing puts a lot of strain and cumulative damage on the body as it is. Your feet carry you everywhere, it pays to be nice to them. But for sure if you’re comfy with your shoes, then that’s all that matters.
I wear my shoes way longer than typically recommended, but I can feel when I’m actually going to get injured. I’m a smaller person so that also helps, but I’ve realized that maximalist shoes are the most dangerous for me. Too much cushion affects my gait and gives me knee pain.
Currently I’m wearing Saucony Originals that are about a year old — no knee or back pain, but I do work out 4 days a week which helps.
Yeah, that’s the problem I’m having. I walk right through shoes in just a couple months.
I've worn mine hard for 4 years and they just now look about like yours.
My hokas have lasted me about 3.5/4 years. Best purchase ever. Averaged 10k-18k a shift (old job was usually 15k-18k a shift for about a year!). Finally got a new pair cause I started to have hip pain again, and they were scuffed up bad
Try SAS. A coworker told me about them in the early 90’s and I’ve never bought another brand of shoe. Not just for work, all my shoes are SAS. They are comfortable from the first time you wear them, they are handmade and so not cheap, they last me for years (and when they look too bad for work I wear them around the house for chores.
I love the Oofos clogs. They’re so ugly, but feel amazing and are the only shoes that don’t leave me with sore feet after a shift.
I HATE clogs but I keep hearing good things! Maybe I’ll cave
The on clouds are very comfy and last me about 6 months. I don’t walk that much either. They also develop an annoying squeak. Overall they are worth it if you buy them on sale.
Yes! What is that squeak?
Sometimes it’s from the insole. The insole can wear down to the rubbery part and squeaks from your sock rubbing against it as you take a step. Or it is from layers of the rubber sole internally delaminating and rubbing together for the same noise.
Couldn’t fathom spending $100 on shoes that only last 6 months. Are they really that comfortable to justify the price tag and lack of durability?
Just an FYI: I was told to replace shoes after hours use, irrespective of how good they still look and/or feel. So for me, I replace my shoes every 3 months. It’s helped with my lower back and foot aches after work.
Edit: I was told this after getting fitted for hiking shoes. The rep told me that the duration of the hike, weather and pack weight would factor into how often to replace hiking shoes. More or less he said after 50-60 hours of strenuous use should shoes be replaced.
Good lord that sounds expensive!
Better than a bad back though
$200/pair. Or around $60-70/month.
I spend more on coffee a month.
You spend more than $70 on coffee a month???
$7 X 3 shifts a week X 4 weeks a month lol
I got a fancy coffee maker so I don’t need to buy coffee at shops anymore.
I try not to, but I’ve been going to this one shop for about 8 years. So it’s just to support them (I get random free coffees from them too)
It’s kind of nice to be a regular at a local shop.
What kind of coffee maker did you get? I just got into French press but I need to up my bougie-ness a bit.
It’s a delonghi with a milk attachment. It grinds the beans and then heats/froths the milk and adds it at the right time depending on what you pick. Other ones you have to do the milk yourself so I went with this one instead. It only grinds enough beans for what you pick so it’s a lot fresher.
It also helps to buy two pairs at the same time and rotate wearing them. It takes ~24 hours for the foam in shoes to fill back out after being compressed while worn. Rotating pairs addresses that issue and you may end up getting longer wear time. Also give them time to air out and may help any foot smell that may build up from sweating and running around in them for 12 hours.
This is key. I was a hairdresser in a past life and this made such a huge difference in not only my shoes lasting longer but being as comfortable supportive on day 2.
50-60 hrs of use is 2 weeks of work. You’re getting new shoes twice a month?
50-60 hours of strenuous use; the example I provided was for constant 25 mile hikes.
I had asked my rep how often I should replace work shoes as I use Hokas or OnClouds. He said that a good rule of thumb is 2-3 months because even though we walk a lot, it’s flat ground, not terrain, nor snow, mud etc.
This has truth to it. The foam inside the shoes, especially those with the thick foam soles, breaks down over time and becomes less resilient. The foam is made of tiny little cells that start to collapse over time and the foam compounds degrade and break down. It doesn’t cushion or bounce as well as it used to and it also does so unevenly. This is one of the reasons a new pair of shoes feels so comfortable.
The same thing happens with other applications that use foam to support body weight- car seats, the ED cart mattresses (which suck from day one but unbelievable can and do get worse) and the seats of office chairs.
I do the same. Normally I just recycle the ones that look to be in good shape to other shoes I may wear randomly. It’s helped wonders with my feet and back
50-60 hours of strenuous use…so 2 weeks of work? Not on my paycheck 😂
Oh, I’m sorry. Here’s a rock.
Thank you for being a healthcare hero.
That all depends on how much the shoes are abused though. I wear hokas for mostly walking and they are still good 3 years later - no back/foot issues.
Now if I were to run daily in them, that would be a totally different story.
Agreed. That’s why I had to edit my original post. Theres always caveats to the rule
I replace every 6-7 months. The past 2-3 years I’ve bought exclusively brooks adrenaline GTS. I’m due for a new pair soon and thinking about hokas
I like Hokas, but they’re quite tall and clownshoe looking.
I moved to onclouds and they feel just as nice without as big of a profile.
I love New Balance 574 at work. Idk if you have tried, but would you say OC better?
Haven't tried these but I have a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam running shoes and I'm really satisfied with them after using for 1,5 years.
Can't say much for 574 but I've used 990 for years since v2. The 990v6 is incredibly comfortable and very bouncy (thanks to the foam support). Put some new balance insoles in there and you won't even need compression socks. I replace my shoes every 1 or 2 years depending on wear and tear. OC and Hoka seem like cash grabs.
The foot specialists I saw recommended 626s, and they're great.
Hokas or nothing.
I really need a new pair too, there’s a blood stain on my left one
Hydrogen peroxide soak and put them through was wash machine, then let them sit in the sun for a day. That gets rid of blood stains on my hokas.
Upvoting for quality niche professional conversation.
Man I hate that. Patient shit blood on the way to the toilet the other day and splattered all over my Hokas. Work ain't paying for that shit.
I tried on clouds and they weren’t wide enough yours don’t seem to be either based on the wear. My brooks have a great box for toe spread, i size up in them. Best shoes they lasted a year in the icu walking 10-15k steps. My toe poked a hole. my second pair are going on a year and a half one year in the Ed 15-17k steps and now I’m hospice do they will last indefinitely since I’m down to like 100 steps a day haha my tires on the other hand
Okay so all my shoes used to break in exactly the same place until I got wider shoes?.
Hokas superiority
Hokas master race
Forever bondi 8 or nothin
How are they better?
If all your shoes wear out on that same spot on the side you need wider shoes like birkenstocks.
runners are recommended to change out their shoes every 400 miles or so; if you are hitting 5-6 miles a day on your feet, these have long outlasted their use!
FYI, on clouds have a very generous warranty. reach out to their customer service and they might just give you an on cloud gift card.
I did :( they said I can’t return them or get a gift cardz
Mine ripped at the same spots! I bought some cloves afterwards and while they aren't as comfy, they are sturdy and waterproof
Cloves definitely have a wider toe box, and this wear pattern looks like the Clouds aren’t wide enough. I wanted to love my Cloves so bad, but my skinny narrow feet were not a fan. Clouds are so much narrower.
I find my Cloves to be comfy. I don't know how HCWs wear anything that absorbs fluids, though. I've had poop, pee, blood, vomit all hit my feet. Quick wipe and I'm good to go with Clove. Not to mention they have great slip resistance, and I'm surprised more staff don't get denied worker's comp due to slips while not wearing proper footwear (my facility's policy states slip resistant footwear is supposed to be worn). My favorite thing about Clove is how quiet they are so I can sneak up on my co-workers like Batman and scare the shit out of them.
that's how all of my compression socks look & i work med tele 😅
My Altras look a little better but not much Considering how much work I do with my feet in the ED there a balance between lightweight and durable with regards to shoes. Uppers on these shoes are pretty thin and outside of Kevlar, I’m not sure what other material would be more durable and lightweight without costing too much to make it worth it.
Altras are my go to shoes for everyday wear. I switched my work shoes to oc and can tell they won’t hold up as long.
Best to have 2-3 pairs to rotate through. Running shoes are good for cushion but are known amongst runners to have a shorter life than other tennis shoes you can wear casually.
I’m a wide foot gal and the CloudMonsters are my favorite, I even bought a second pair just for running because they’re so cushy. I also have Hoka Rincon 3’s and Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22. I do have a high foot arch so that factors heavily into my shoe choices. I tried the Cloudnova X but the heel-toe drop is too extreme and makes my calves feel very tight after walking on that incline all day.
People complaining about these not lasting without realizing that the support of the shoes are already well cooked. I replace my hokas every 6 months even if they look fine because you definitely notice the difference in comfort. Running shoes just aren't built to last this much walking and I don't know why people expect them to.
Check out Solomon for sneakers they’re so sturdy and support my feet really well. I went thru Hoka and onclouds and felt like both of them didn’t have the lifespan I was hoping for.
My altra lone peaks look brand new besides a few blood droplet stains I can’t get out, after the same amount of time in the ED averaging the same amount of steps, give them a try them shits are robust shoes
I used altras when hiking the AT and everyone I've met who had them complained about their durability. Especially people with bigger feet sizes 14+ mentioned how often the sidewall blew out on them or the shoe delaminated. I'm glad they're fine for work, but I didn't plan on buying them again after they tore apart consistently after 150-300 miles, myself.
The inside of my hokas were ruined after like 5 months on med surg
Laughs in dansko
I work full time in ER I have never had a pair of shoes look like this, my impression is these aren't great value
Maybe try ASICS? You would think for the price point, they would be better quality.
Most people are saying that I need new shoes every 6-7 months. Please comment any wide foot recommendations 😇
Clove has a MUCH wider toe box than OC. Non-slip, non-squeak soles are good as is the heel cushion but the it’s all I can say because they were far too wide for me and even in the right size my foot was sliding all over the place. OC fit my narrow feet perfectly, as a comparison.
Again I will mention SAS. They have sizes up to WWW. And the men’s are wider.
But so they fo the other direction? Some of us have stick figure feet. I’ve walked out of ballerina flats a size too small simply because my feet were so skinny.
Gotcha covered! As a matter of fact, my Mom and I both wear size 9. I’m WWW and she is AAA. SAS has the most comprehensive size collection I’ve ever seen. Just google sas shoes.
Fitville has wide toe boxes!
Dansko gang rise up
I got a pair of ONs and they by far the worst shoe I have worn. I think I'm going back to either asics or brooks.
La Sportiva Helios are the best and am gonna die on this hill. Very durable - I walk 16,000 a day, and after two years they look not even close to pic OP posted. Plus, they are lightweight and comfy. I made a third of my unit rethink their hocas, brooks, and whatnot, lol
Same thing happened to me but less torn up. Just a small hole on the top of each shoe. Fill out a warranty request and they’ll give you an electronic gift card with the entire price of the shoe and tax on it. I used mine to buy a pair of their more expensive shoes which look more rugged and less likely to break and I only had to pay $20 out of pocket.
After having OnClouds working out of a same day surgery center, and having them tear after only 6 months, I said I would never buy another pair. Now I wear some Hoka Bondi 8's 🤙🏽
You need at least 2 pairs at all times and rotate 24 break between wears…and obviously new pairs
Shoes like this are only meant to take about 400 miles before they get replaced
The only shoes I’ve purchased that were more uncomfortable than On Clouds were those damn Clove nurse shoes. I’ll stick with Hoka or Brooks from here on out. New Balance aren’t bad either, I just like the other two better.
I was pretty disappointed that mine only lasted 6 months. For the price I expected a solid year like my Brooks or even my less expensive New Balances. Wouldn't buy again .
I have gone through 4 pairs of shoes in 2 years, I just got my on cloud shoes less than 3 months ago and they are already ripping like how yours are in the picture
Take it from a nurse that has worked in the country that brand is from for 15 years now: they are not worth your money. It’s even been in the news how shitty they are compared to cheaper big-brand shoes. The Swiss are pissed about that, cause their profit margins are insane: https://www.rts.ch/info/economie/14633112-les-marges-tres-confortables-de-la-marque-on-running-epinglees-dans-une-enquete.html (in French). I had a pair - it lasted 6 months of casual use, then started to come apart - the glue appeared to dry and the layers of the shoes began to separate completely. If you search around Reddit, you’ll see testimonials like that everywhere.
Tax refund it bro
Yeah after 13k steps 3-4 days a week shoes are going to bite the dust. However I have had my on clouds for 8 months and have does some running, lifting and work. First they are my work shoes, 10-15k steps per day. I am just now noticing some tear down
I bought a pair of the $160 water resistant ones and I absolutely hated them. Found them super uncomfortable (as a Murse).
My wife is an MD and she also gave the pair she bought away due to discomfort. Rocking ultra boosts now and I love them
That means you was doing the damn thing! Shout out to you! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥☮️❤️😊
I'm just surprised that nurses will wear shoes with fabric on them that can't be wiped clean. Isn't this an infection risk?
Not trying to be a dick, but why would you continue wearing shoes that have obvious holes in them to work? You must have at least one other pair or could have bought new shoes. I’d be embarrassed as fuck walking around in shoes with holes everywhere…
Well u see, there’s ICU nurses, then there’s ER nurses lol
I guess it’s the ER nurse in me. We all have tattered shoes here.
Once you’ve broken in a pair of shoes it’s hard to let them go 😅
Lmao my hokas were exactly like this then i moved on to on clouds, thankfully this didnt happen but the black rubber on the buttom was all scrape up ☹️
Their get up and go got up and went.
I went to a proper shoe store for runners. They told me shoes should last about 700km. No new shoes that I have bought, in the past 2 to 3 years, have ever lasted that far. I am talking about shoes that are 200 dollars a pair or more. They start to break down after 2 to 3 months.
I am tired spending so much money for literal crap. The shoes I have from 4 years ago, ones I just use where I work casual are still in better shape than the Brooks I bought last year in my permanent line. A line that is .75 but when you consider vacations, stats, sick days, BOT days off, I work much less.
I use low rise hiking boots. Oboz fit me the best, they’re very durable and comfortable. Usually get two years hard use out of them until they’re moved to muck/dirty chore boots and they last another year.
Ive been eyeing them, good thing I saw this before buying one. My cheapo work shoes lasted longer than these!
Hokas for the win!!!
My hokas only last 6 to 9 months. I have been wearing the Clifton for a bit now, the 5 7 8 9 series. I do not like the 9. There is an issue with the inner sole and I even exchanged them, same thing. I read on here someone else had the same issue so won't be buying this model at least again. Sad bc I loved them.
I had the bondi SR, which are so ugly, but them bad boys lasted me almost 4 years. ( cna 18k steps, 2x a week + nursing school shoes) I just got the bondi 8 to see how they hold up. I got 2 pairs to rotate them so we shall see.
I buy a new pair every 4 months or so. Mostly sketchers, which are surprisingly comfy even with over 10k steps per day, but occasionally New Balances. Thing is, no one has ever stolen my Sketchers, but my New Balances walked off on their own once. (I'd left them outside my door because they'd gotten spattered with blood and gunk, and then immediately forgot to bring them into my apartment. When I opened the door the next day, they had vanished. Karma, my dude.) Sketchers have sat there all night, no problem.
My question is, how often do you normally replace shoes? I replace mine every year.
Not every shoe fits every foot! I love my ONs but hate Hokas.
Glad I don't work in your ER, looks intense!
This is why I wear crocs
I was going to buy a pair but mostly for travel. The salesperson said hers fell apart after she went running in them.
Create a refund request on the website. Mine did the same thing and I complained saying that they gave out way too early and sent pictures. They gave me a 200$ gift card and let me keep the shoes too.
Aren't we supposed to change our shoes twice a year anyway? I feel like you've gotten fair use off of this pair of shoes!
Ugh 13k steps. That’s the one part of hospital based nursing I actually miss!! Now I just sit on my bum all day. I do home hospice 10-12 hour shifts with one patient. I get maybe 1000 steps a day. It’s dark and freezing when I get out of work.
I’ve been de-influenced from onclouds officially. I’ll stick with my new balances
Those holes are from unlocking the brake on the cart with the top of your foot. Your shoes will last longer if you step on the other side of the lever… takes an extra two seconds lol.
Durability has been trash for both the Oncloud and Hokas I bought. Landed on brooks which are just as comfortable but lasted much longer so far
What the hell? There's no shit on them!
I had to get 2 sizes up
I’m not a nurse, but I am a food distribution truck driver. I average between 7 and 9 miles a day of walking on concrete, my go-to for summer working shoes are Keens.
Outside of my heavy duty leather workboots, Keens are by far the single best work shoe I’ve ever found. Durable, grippy, and incredibly comfortable even after hours of walking.
They also make waterproof ones!
It's like I am looking at my shoes 6months in home health care (I have a lot of walking distance patients so I go between 10-25000 steps a day I every kind of weather.)
Dang. Mine are over a year old and I've worn them around disneyland and on hikes. You beat yours up good
Contact the company to do testers !!!
Yeah, they don't hold up well for me compared to all my other shoes. I've owned several pairs of OC and worked in the ICU. I can't justify buying another pair when the quality sucks.
If they break down much within 1 year you can get a new pair for free, check out their website
I had New Balance shoes that lasted years, hundreds of miles a month in a busy ER. Tread never really wore down either. The heck you doing over there?
No shoes last in ED 😭
I only got three months out of my Hokas before the inner lining started falling apart. For $170 I expected more. Next pair is going to be OC.
I bought Walmart shoes recently and they are really comfortable but I’m not sure what the life is on them on ER folk yet.
I have been having a work-shoe-replacement-crisis for like a month now. I want good work shoes but I have such a hard time shelling out that $ for something that will get poop on it. not to mention the whole "child slaves made these sneakers" effect. I came to the conclusion that cheap knit sneakers that I can throw in the wash are the way to go, but all the ones I like are the epitome of fast fashion 😭
Either you should find another job or more reliable shoes lol
I had two pairs of asics I alternated them. They lasted about 2 years.
I'm glad i'm hearing about this. I see a lot of people at the hospital wearing ons. I'm due for some new work shoes and was thinking of buying them
You definitely mean business lol
Try hokas, They may not survive any better but I bet they're cheaper off amazon and just as comfortable and supportive.
Bro seems like you were at war or something 😂😭
Holy shit
Yep. I average about 12km per shift. Cheap clogs are my go to now :)
Where are you socks from??? I need me a pair lol
I love Hoka
In the running world, you should replace your shoes every 400 or so miles. I’d say you definitely reached that!! 7 months isn’t bad.
Damn. I’d recommend APLs.
I bought onclouds and regret it. The first time I wore them my toe bled. My feet are sore all the time after work. I’m going to go back to hokas, my tried and true!
Damn.
These shoes aren't known for their durability. They are a joke of a brand to serious runners.
You hit the point!! Can someone help me with cleaning my bright shoes ( Especially white ) I only wear it in hospital but it's get darker every time IDK why or how ¿ Or do you think I can replace the shoes with the crocs ?? - BTW I'm still a student Next year I will be intern, which means full training in the hospital
I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned but you can file a claim with oncloud and usually they will replace them or reimburse you.
Are they comfy? Also I love your socks lmao
