It's possible, but judges in Oklahoma don't run for office; they're appointed by the governor.
(And through a cursory search, I could find nothing as to his political membership)
So in other words, every single Oklahoma judge is a Republican.
Lovell is a registered Republican, however he was appointed in November 2010 at which time Oklahoma actually had a Democrat Governor- Brad Henry.
Interesting, would not have guessed that OK used to have a dem governor!
Some states are funny. Kentucky, despite having a state legislature with a Republican super majority (80-20 House, 31-7 Senate), has only had 3 Republican governors since WWII.
