Best houseplant to use as a sacrificial offering to my cat?

My sacrificial plant is a very fluffy Boston Fern cultivar. It's nontoxic, hardy, and the leaf texture completely hides opportunitistic cat chewing

Just give them a pot of normal organic wheat grass. You should be able to buy sprouting wheat seeds in every supermarket. If you want to have something more durable choose spelt seeds.

Otherwise spider plants are quite good, but not as favoured as grass.

I have a sacrificial spider plant for my one cat lol. my other spiders are out of reach. I prop babies for her too.

Yeah, spider plant is probably the best. Make sure you set one apart for making baby plants so you have a steady supply.

Have you tried an actual catnip plant? Cat grass is different so try a catnip. 

I grew catnip for my mother's cats, easy to grow from seed and he liked it. I like cats but I'm glad I have dogs that don't do this 😂

My cat can’t stop, won’t stop nibbling my fittonia. I finally took cuttings of the few remaining undamaged bits and moved them into a terrarium. I guess the other one is hers now.

My cat had to go to a 30 day rehab because he was obsessed with the spider plant.

One of my three cats LOVES chewing on a spider plant, the other two couldn’t care less about the plants (thankfully lol)

My first plant was a catnip plant because I wasn't sure how the little shits would behave. One cat tried to munch on a leaf, but the other one smacked it away, leaf muncher never tried it again :p I tried having a spider plant but both cats are drawn to it bc it's fun to bap and bite :[

I think a spider plant would be good; mine likes to nibble my dracaenas, and I have a bamboo ginger or ginger bamboo (not sure of name) that’s supposed to be nontoxic that he enjoys as well.

Ponytail palm, nut the edges can be sharp.

Hoyas are a good option too.

My cat loves nerve plants (which are nontoxic) and keep her occupied. Everything else I try to keep high up or outside, just in case.

You should do cat grass but act like it's your precious and you don't want your cat near it. My cats know when I don't want them to do something yet they do it anyways, the forbidden entices them lmao

Wheat grass seeds are hella cheap. I bought three planters that I rotate out with wheat grass. Grows super fast. If kitty isn’t into the grass, the only other one my boys ever have interest in are spider plants.

What about vomiting? When i take my cat to the backyard, he manages to eat grass that makes its way thru the fence. But then he vomits :(

Spider plant is fairly resistant, harmless and cats like it. Still to better have two or three in rotation for cats to munch on

You can buy wheat grass seed in bulk. I rotate between two containers so they always have fresh grass while one is just starting. They leave all my plants alone now.
