We all know that Link is into music that is not "typical" for people his age, specifically contemporary hip hop and rap. That being said, do you think he's kept up with the Kendrick Lamar vs Drake beef? 😂
I'd have a hard time trusting someone who was team Drake, so I am so happy to hear this news.
I'm team Neither. You're either team P3do or team wife beater so either way you lose. 🤷♀️
I haven't seen any evidence to the woman beating thing but I also haven't searched for it, but either way, despite any of the accusations (Drake's and kendricks) Kendrick is still by far the better lyricist
Oh, you know he has
In one of the ear biscuits (I think like three weeks ago) he joked that the next episode would just be him explaining the beef to Rhett (bc Rhett was trying to explain something to him that he didn't really care about). I actually was hoping he would follow through but now I doubt it.
This was before even Euphoria had come out so it wasn't so deep yet.
Hey, Link and I are the same age. “For his age”….pfft 😜
This is what I was thinking.
Right? I'm 49, I listen to some Post Malone and Noah Kahan without issue. Well, I did.
Post malone and noah kahan arent exactly popping off with the younger generation sis
Doesn't matter. The point is they aren't of mine. I also know them because of the 20 somethings at work, so unless you're talking about 5th graders, I don't know what you're on about
And who really cares, music is what you like. I dont listen to it because it's popular. Sad if that's what you do.
I'm 42 and couldn't name one song by Post Malone, don't even know who that other guy is.
Speaking of his music taste did you see that amazing A Tribe Called Quest shirt he had on today!!?
Yes!!!
I love how Link has used his Hollywood platform to befriend famous rappers. I giggle every time I see the picture of him with the Ski Mask chain. He's living the life.
RIP pop smoke
“For his age” acting like those genres haven’t existed for decades
Idk Link is a little younger than my parents and even then my dad listened to hip hop when I was growing up.
Yes he said something about it at the end of ear biscuit 423
There's a Mythical merch ad floating around reddit right now with 🚨NEW DROP ALERT 🚨 in the subject text. They know exactly what they're doing. 😂
Seriously who cares what he listens to now and what you deem as typical for his age? Once a hip hop head always a hip hop head.
Ikr.
You do realize we grew up with the OGs of hiphop, not all this autotune, pillhead whiny bullshit kids listen to today.
I agree.
this is such an ignorant comment.
This post is ignorant
Can't get away from this bs even on the GMM sub. Why do people care so much about two random dudes having an argument?
You clearly haven't been following if you think it's just an argument
Why do people care so much about two random dudes having more than an argument?
Idk man, it really feels like the “if you don’t care about everything, you must not care” mentality is just taking over.
Consider this the Super Bowl of hip hop right now, yea there are people who watch all season, but there's the thousands of people who don't yet they tune into the super bowl anyway for the commercials and to be able to say the next day at work that they watched it. This is such a big deal that people who don't listen all year are coming out of the wood work to experience this amazing face off and be able to talk about it.
Because they are the two greatest hip hop artists of our generation And their “argument” has produced, to this date, 12 or 13 new songs if you count the Rick Ross diss track and Metros BBL drizzy beat, in the span of a month! On top of that, the songs are witty, fun and full of drama. Some people are tied to the argument but most are just fans of all the new music this situation has produced.
Drake is one of the 2 greatest hip hop artists of the generation? Drake?
“What the fuck, bro? I'm one away from Michael”
I wouldn't say THE greatest but he's definitely in the conversation about it. 100% not top 3 though.
I mean, is that just based off of name recognition and spotify streams?
While ranking musicians in general is up to opinion, I could easily see Kendrick in the conversation off of the strength of GKMC and TPaB but what is Drake's magnum opus? He doesnt have the flow, lyricism, songwriting or creativity to stand up to the best in the genre, I feel like he's just more well-known and that's mostly due to the hype machine of the internet/music industry. Hell, a chunk of his popularity comes from meme culture.
yeah absolutely i completely agree with you but he's had a major influence on rap whether it be his Take Care era, his Views era or even Her Loss. Each era has been incredibly successful and very influential. obviously he's not as talented as kendrick, kanye or even Jay-Z but despite the fact he uses other artists flows or do. he's definitely not one of the greats but he's certainly up there if you was to set aside the fact he steals flow and doesn't write his own songs but that let's him down as an artist a lot.
Oof, tough look mentioning Kanye in that response. Kanye said he wishes drake could write all his raps.

yeah I've seen that before but I meant the college dropout - graduation era and 808s
Kanye has also been famously out of touch with reality for a while now.
why the downvotes i literally agreed💀
Because they are the two greatest hip hop artists of our generation
And one of them uses ghostwriters 💀
Yeah this is just one instance though. What Else has he done? Keep in mind that I don't follow Drake and his career like that, because he's always felt 'off' to me as long as he's been around.
Doubling down on my statement, he's always been corny and a cry baby. He makes palatable music for softbois that you have to cover your drink around. This beef would've been going if his company umg didn't step in and tell Kendrick to stop because it was ruining his image and there was money on the line. Lame ass.
Where is the second one because only Kendrick is in that category of greatest. 🤣
Haahahahahahahahaaahhahahahahahahahahaahahhaaaaaa*gaspsforbreath*haaaahahaahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahhahaahhahahahaa
..ha
Link actually just answered this question on a society Q&A. He has kept up with it. Says there is really some good quality music that has come from it but some very real subjects that can be hard to listen to but he can’t turn away. He is team Kendrick.
