Games that are in the same realm of depth as Dwarf Fortress?

There are few games (that seem to frequently be free and have basically no graphics) that go all in on the depth or complexity of the game, like Dwarf Fortress with it's simulation, or Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead or Aurora4x, maybe Thrive has these kinds of ambitions too.

What I'd like to know is what other games are there in the same realm, maybe in other genres too?

Ultima Ratio Regum. Like Dwarf Fortress, it creates a whole world. However, this world has procedural cultures. The objective is to learn these cultures and hunt for anomalies.

Not long ago I found this city builder called Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic. It's kind of impressive the amount of systems it can simulate and everything is up to the player.

Any Paradox map game has quite intense simulations. Stellaris is my favourite.

Kerbal Space Program has quite powerful physics simulations.

Songs of Syx is a city builder game that is kinda like Dwarf Fortress except there's no underground building. The game is more about managing the happiness of your population which is divided into different fantasy races but if you've played DF you will find a lot of things instantly familiar

Ever wanted to play Rimworld but get screwed over because a god looked at you and decided to attack your village with a flying magically Enchanted poop because you sent a villager to greet him with a Phoenix feather but it burned down his whole village?

Space Station 13 simulates all kinds of things like gases and gravity, and has a ton of features. But primarily, it is a social roleplaying game with all the mad variety that human interaction brings. One of the greatest games of all time.

I feel like Factorio has pretty high level of depth, especially if you grab the Space Exploration mod. All the energy, flow rate, production/processing rate calculations are pretty tight numbers-wise.
