I just reload until I win.
I never bothered to win the tournament because a I'm too stupid to understand Blitzball.
I’m currently on my probably 10th play through and i finally took the time to learn blitzball and I’m having a blast. Switching to manual and using Y on switch or square on PlayStation to stop your character while no one is near them to either pass or shoot uninterrupted has been a game changer.
My whole team is already level 7-10 and I haven’t even made it through mihen Highroad yet. Recruiting Ropp at the travel agency and getting the jecht shot is also very helpful. Now I’m playing a few games of blitz before I even continue the story each time I start the game.
Items and wakkas overdrives from playing are sweet too.
Get ahead in score then just go wait behind your goalie, no one will come for you. Used to work for me on my ps2 version, dunno if it still works on the remaster.
It does still work in the remaster, and I did do that for the first tournament game. But now that I’ve learned how to actually play it is very fun to play normally and go around recruiting people, learning skills, and whooping ass naturally.
