I just started playing far cry 5 a week ago because its on gamepass. How did I never play this game before?
I don’t know. It is an amazing game and my personal favorite Far Cry game.
I will have to check out some of the others when I finish. I'm having a lot of fun
Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 I highly recommend. The games are pretty separate from each other. But Far Cry 4’s characters and setting seems to be connected to Far Cry 5’s ending in a way I can’t explain due to spoilers. Don’t worry though you can finish Far Cry 5, it doesn’t really spoil anything about Far Cry 4.
Edit: There is also Far Cry: New Dawn which is canon and is kind of like a sequel to Far Cry 5. And it has some surprise appearances from some characters from Far Cry 5. It’s kind of insane and looks like an acid trip but if you wanna know what happened after 5’s ending, then you should play it.

Rabi Ray Rana could absolutely be annoying, but I did find him funny most times, and I’m still not over his rant about the Civil Twerk War. Far Cry 4 is the only game where I would just sit in the car after I already arrived at my destination to just finish hearing what he had to say. So that’s my choice.

biggest problem here that his talks "looped" really bad. some stories you will hear 10 times, some you probably hear just once.

5, once you unlock the rock station for that guy in whitetail mountains there's some real bangers, Heart, Greta Van Fleet etc.
When people think of FC5’s music, of course the cult music comes to mind first, but the radio music is underrated and my favorite. Only complaint was that there wasn’t more country than that Dwight Yoakim song, it would’ve fit the environment but of course people can’t handle country music. Still they had some unexpected bangers, I even went to a Scott H Biram concert because I loved his songs that are in the game and became a fan. The doowop selections for Faith’s region were a pleasant surprise, don’t remember much of the playlist from Jacob’s region (indie rock I think).
The New Dawn music was a cool vibe, needed more Die Antwoord though, idk why but their tunes scream “Mad Max-esque apocalypse” to me. FC6 had very fun tunes, Daddy Yankee and Gente de Zona don’t make bad music. I prefer it over New Dawn but New Dawn’s radio music was still good.
Those three had actual recognizable licensed music for their radio. For 3, that Skrillex song was only for a mission (only radio song I liked enough to bother Shazaming was Ukelele Girl), and for 4 only that Clash song was in the beginning, I can’t find a radio playlist for that game.
The Bombay Royale songs in Far Cry 4 are all fire, you should listen to them

As a Latino, far cry 6 by a long shot. Hearing these songs that I have listened to when I was younger puts a large smile and gets me to sing.
They're all terrible. But Far Cry 4 seems to be the best as it's the only radio that has a host that talks about what is happening in Kyrat. Kind of like Galaxy News Radio from Fallout 3.
The hell are you on? A lot of the music in 6 was literally in pop culture to some extent, before the game was even announced. There's literally Viva La Vida Loca and Con Calma. Just because YOU don't like a music genre, doesn't mean the music itself is bad.
4 was the only one I ever turned off.
Rabi Ray Rana was funny first time round, but he was unbelievably repetitive. Same handful of stories over and over again.

Totally 6! Maybe I'm biased being Puerto Rican, but I loved the classic Latin music. Reminded me of the stuff the old heads would play in my neighborhood when I was a kid.
And Dani singing along to the modern stuff was a lotta fun ngl. The first time it happened to me, he was singing Havana and like two lines in I hit a soldier and he gleefully kept going haha.

I’m constantly explaining why Far Cry 5 is overrated (relative to the other Far Cry games at least - I still love it, don’t get me wrong) and even I will tell you that this one isn’t close. It’s Far Cry 5.

5 I guess. I don't think the cultist music is quite as good as people say it is, but I do find the surprisingly esoteric selection of licensed music interesting. I wonder if it was a budget thing or if it was perhaps influenced by the tastes of certain developers.
In 4, Rabi Ray Rana is amusing but doesn't have nearly enough lines recorded. Every time I hop in a car this guy is either talking about "animals picking up the guns" or "Obama type of change". There was so much more joke potential. They could have had Kyrati citizens call in and say stupid shit.

That scripted song on radio in fc4 when you driving the truck to king’s bridge, it sounds like you are doing some ultimate sacrifice on a kamikaze mission, which it is, but again ajay has plot armor.

I can't stand the soundtrack of 6, almost every song has that 3-3-2 reggaeton beat and subjectively I hate it. The songs that don't follow that beat sound like they were written by someone in the middle of a manic episode
