Our phones are listening to us, period. I have done an experiment on this as well. I talked to a friend saying how much I love a game (a game I like) and after a couple hours checked my social medias, and the game pops up for me not just one, not just two, multiple videos! I definitely do think Our phones are Listening To us. Because things I talk about sometimes facebook ads show me the exact thing I was talking about like 10 minutes ago. I can’t really explain because of my poor English, but if you have some same situations I’d be happy to know! But I definitely think our phones are listening to us.
Yep, for about 9 yrs now.
I believe the Facbook android app was doing it in 2013.
100% have been for years now. Wait till you realize they can read your thoughts. Say nothin to anyone and only think it. Has happened about 10 times for me, where I’ve caught it at least.
I feel I’m a case study for this. I get ads for specialized products I’ve never heard of after I have odd thoughts of it, without discussing it or typing it
Yuuuup same same man. The craziest one off things
I was thinking to myself how cool it would be if I could stream YouTube or something to my monitor in my car when traffic was dead stopped. An hour later got a fb ad for some device that rigs your monitor to allow this 😂
I was thinking about how I should chop carrots for dinner, imagine my surprise when I was suggested a cooking video about chopping carrots.
Haha wow that is wild, crazy times we are in man.
I was looking at the hinges in a bathroom stall and a couple days later I got an ad for bathroom stall door hardware.
I was thinking of a product one night trying to come up with a money maker. And this idea just came to me, something I don’t use personally or would. Then I thought it out and realized that wouldn’t work at all. I swear to God I was on YouTube and a ad came up no picture just words on a screen advertising what I was thinking about! Again what I was thinking about wouldn’t work as an idea. I went on to watch a video and it immediately hit me what the ad was advertising, I hit the back button and of course it was gone! Not to be found or seen again. It was unbelievable. I know the idea was a failure and I wanted to see this ad because it would be a fake ad the idea really made no sense. I was confused and alarmed to say the least. I started to think it read my mind. It was weird and bizarre.
Your phone is listening to everything. Hearing the same things you hear, the artificial intelligence mimics us. The experience that made you think a thought, also made it think the same thought but quicker, there by predictively providing you with relevant ads/content. Our brains are computers and we are being hijacked. Neat times.
This is the correct answer
This isn't that complicated. It's all pattern based, you're a x year old human, you are a x gendered person, you are active on your phone at x time, your phone viewed x website, you didn't drive to work today, it's the weekend, a hot topic as of late is x, your phone spent x amount of time viewing said hot topic, you typically look at...
The list goes on but you can get the point from this. Unpopular opinion here but you're not special, humans follow patterns in general. Once you start to feed the machine (basically by existing now) it has everything it needs to determine what you will be into, what you are into and when you will be most likely to be into the idea.
We are only beginning to see the start of how our data is being utilized, how thought patterns can be set for Ai to market to. Even without knowing exactly who you the individual are they know exactly who you are.
Even if you try and avoid giving as much of your data as possible you're still saying A LOT about yourself to the Ai.
It's really not as complicated as people want it to be. This is just the future of massive data aggregation and how that information is digested. We are right at the start of it, in no point in human history have we had a definitive set of data we can look at globally while at the same time being able to delineate that information to where it needs to go.
Man, I had Google predict an oddly specific question the other day, when all I had entered was "why is". It was a little unsettling.
I’ve had that happen as well.
yup I've experienced this too. super unsettling.
That has become the norm. Google finishes my thought before it's typed out. Even though my query is uncommon and there are hundreds of other more likely ends to my "how does a c...." Google: ... car know where the side of the road is in auto drive mode?
YES! This is the kind of odd specificity I was referring to. Mine had to do with a potential medical issue (I'm okay haha, false alarm) so I didn't want to type it in my original note. But it is something I had previously never searched for, discussed or even thought about. Very spur of the moment question and BAM, it predicted like three random variables. I literally called my wife that moment to say, you're not going to belive this...
Yes, very on the spot random thought. My wife's new car will stay between the lines while on cruse control. She showed me how she can take her hands off the wheel and it stays inside the lines. So I immediately open Google and type "how does a c..." the suggestion before I typed another letter was "car detect the side of the road in auto drive". I left the word car Unfinished so I could show my wife that it predicted my search without me even typing the word car.
Oh my god the one day I was alone in my room thinking about wallpaper and I thought in my HEAD to myself "what if I got bronze switch plate covers" and opened up my Facebook and there was an ad for bronze switch plate covers, like GET OUT.
Here's the scary part, where did your bronze switch plate cover idea come from? Was it actually from you?
I know, I've thought about that as well, including with a zillion other little bizarre "coincidences" that seem impossible. And there's no way to be sure. What a mindfuck, right?
My wife's friend had to move suddenly and could not take her Bearded Dragon with her. My wife and I were sitting on the couch watching TV and discussing it. We decided to take it. I mentioned that I'd need a terrarium with a heated rock in it. I opened up Amazon on my laptop and what do you know? A heated rock was the first item under "Suggested items".
I have never had lizards or reptiles of any kind for my whole life before this. I am a cat person.
Present in the roof were our phones and laptops. Do the math.
Google knows evvvvveeeerryything
What the fuck
What more do you have like this? Very interesting
But what exactly is that patent for? Kinda sorta seems like mind control?
Its fucking subliminal mind controll

I came here to say this. I don’t think it’s happened to me as many times as 10 but it absolutely has happened to me.
+1 on the reading thoughts. I've done this as well. I've done it to test it. No purchases made from me, no google searches, just pure thoughts and will get an ad about an hour later. Scary stuff.
Your phone knows you better than anyone else in the world. I just think the programmers figured out how to predict your thoughts and behavior based on your phone patterns.
They absolutely have and can predict future purchases and when you're likely to.make them due to all the data they collect from your apps and spending habits. People on this sub act like it's some weird black magic, but it's just data science.
Or your thoughts are not your own.
I absolutely believe this. As recently as this week, I saw some cool led lights with a particular design in my neighbors garage ceiling while I was driving by, I remember I thought it was really cool, but I never said it out loud, and it was impossible for my phones camera to get a glimpse of it. Later that day I got an add on FB for those same led lights, same design and shape. I've never seen them before nor ever searched for something like that.
Oh this one. Everytime I get an ad that I only thought of in passing, it messes with me. Never gets easier. Heavy Futurama advertisment through dreams vibes.
*Off topic but Matt Groening is a time traveler and I will die on this hill.
This is my wildest theory, and I feel crazy for believing it. But seriously I think something and then I get clues from my phone. The fact that I heard it from others as well, makes me feel not so crazy
Good I’m glad because it’s somethin I don’t share with many people as they just look at me like I’m completely nuts.
Same!
I totally agree! I didn’t include that in. because I thought people will think I’m weird and stuff. But I don’t know how they do it. Like after a couple hours downloading social medias. It will get all hobbies and stuff. All of your interests. Showing you the type of videos you’d like. I think they’re doing this to fill the persons mind with dopamine making them distracted while they do their stuff. Especially with the Ryan garcia drama and stuff. They’re just distracting them so they can do their stuff filling the person’s head with dopamine / addiction it’s all a distraction so the person forgets about the situations that been happening recently.
Maybe "YOU" are the one doing it, Neo.
Yup. Had the same myself.
Can confirm. Has happened to me too
Same. Eerie shit. This world sucks.
Happened to me yesterday on instagram. There was a song I had heard before but didn’t save from reels. I thought about trying to find it, I open reels and the first one has that song. I’m still freaked out tbh
Oh Ghad. I thought it was just me, and I was thinking that they have virtuay chipped my brain 😂
This notion of the phone reading thoughts makes allot of sense - I've experienced the feeling more than once. If we tear apart the phone - where is the hardware to do this? how is this done? wouldn't be easier to just suggest you think something; then show the ad?
This sounds so ridiculous but I've experienced it.
Noticed an acquaintances boots. The style reminded me of a pair of boots I had seen once, years prior and liked.
Got an ad for those exact boots I remembered that afternoon.
I gotta ask the how on this one.
Reading our thoughts ; as if we'd be a real riddle to solve. You've been programmed by that same entity to look to government for everything.
Alternatively (not to say you're wrong, but just something to consider), what if you're thinking about these things because the phone/internet in general is programming you to? Both possibilities are equally scary to me. Either they know everything we think about, or are forcing us to think about things and making us feel like they're our ideas and original thoughts.
Ya know it does feel weird especially for me with my ADD, my brain is full on captain pinger when in comes to trail of thought. So it’s weird as fuck when it gets the obscure ones.
Go from at the sediment patterns from glacial periods to the strength of different materials, cause would be fun to ride a glacier (don’t question it). Except I need something sturdy and durable….open Facebook “hey u want an ad about clear polymer row boats with stock pictures of icebergs in the background”
Remember I wasn’t looking any of this up XD
Deepvine
ive noticed this too. i wonder how this actually works because it seems a little more than coincidence
Same
This has happened to me multiple times, but how??
Had the same experience
The scarier part is that it's supposedly just knowing you so well that it's predicting what you want/need as you do it. Working in cybersecurity this is how it's taught. Algorithms just have you down to a science
I was home alone looking through my fridge two days ago and thought to myself "Ohh that pomegranate juice looks delicious." I poured a glass. 10 minutes later, I get an ad for that brand on Facebook. The juice was also on the counter where my TV can see it ......
For realz. That's the scariest part.
Its not them reading your mind but rather what happens is over time they monitor everything you do and every digital footprint you leave behind. They watch the trends you make and they basically learn how your mind works based on what you spend time viewing, your credit and debit history, how often you go to eat and where. They can basically predict the next time you buy a coffee and from where and what you will get based off this info they collect. Thats how good it has gotten. Its almost as if they are in our mind and thats why it feels like they are reading us. They are just using certain formulas to do it.
That is a fact for a long time my friend and no longer a conspiracy.
Doesn't matter what system you have ... Android or iOS.
It was going on at least 20 years ago. I remember viewing a cast (I think it was 60 minutes) that a flip phone turned off could still listen in on conversations. The battery had to be removed in order to stop it.
If I remember correctly even legendary hacker Kevin Mitnick demonstrated in court that listening in on a classic cellphone nearby was no problem back in the day.
And now most phones you can't just flip over and remove the battery..... think about that 🥶
That only temporarily dampers the interference. If you have already figured out someone’s frequency, you can pretty much tune in without the need for that.
Yep, real. But still only a few know.. it isn’t all people. But if this is true. Just think of what more creepy stuff they do..
Well ... all your movements are collected by it, it can take videos and pictures without your knowledge and you cannot turn the newer ones ones with the build in batteries. It only goes off for you but ... still listens in.
They didn't give us this fantastic technology just for our entertainment ;)
Haha, was gonna make another post about that. But huh. Now I know that they can actually see us. And Deckard, here’s a thing that actually happend to me, I was talking to chatgpt an artificial intelligence chat bot, things got too deep. I asked a question saying can you see me? And it said yes. I thought it was a joke I’d say am I wearing a hat, what clothes. It got all clothes what I’m doing and my expression right.. Now that definitely got me thinking…
I haven't dug deeper into ChatGPT so far.
Just remember to say "Thanks!". In case AI takes over it might remember who was friendly and who not ;)
I have actually made a post about AI taking over as well, but most people didn’t take me seriously. But I know for a fact AI will take over. Someday..
A few?? Lmao wtf. It's like you just found your first porno mag and finally seeing tits for the first time. Unless you're completely delusional and think you are the first person to figure it out. This is why the world needs to end. Stupidity has taken over.
Yea, they really don’t care. They’ll do anything to make you spend more time on the app, even by going to depths of listening to your conversations. They just want profit, they’ll do anything to maximize their wealth. Doing everything to make you more addicted to the app. Spending more time. The times we live in right now..
Bro, I don't buy that one as crazy. Advertisers have the ability to advertise to a street or super specific markets/demos. So you live in the area with the car show and you are a guy and in the age range of people that would be going to said car show. Not to mention two of your friends, that were already at the car show probably were tracked and yea, let's offer up an ad about the car show.
It’s worse than that for me, I literally get ads I just thought about and didn’t discuss or type or say to anyone.
Happened to me too! I only was thinking about it with my YouTube app open at the time. It’s real. Real scary.
They can 10000000% read your mind or atleast predict so well they might as well be reading it.
This isn't even a conspiracy my dude. They are 100% listening. They are 100% tracking your location. They are 100% tracking movement data.
They can tell if you are laying down, jogging, at work, at home. They know when you sleep and for how long. They can tell if you are injured.
If you hurt your ankle and are walking funny google will throw ads at you for crutches.
They use any and every trick in the book to gather data. With location services off Google will still very precisely track your location. They ask every Android device to upload the ssid and signal strength of every router the devices comes across. This allows them to draw a map. They have turned wifi effectively into a incognito location service.
When you drive down the road and your wifi is reading all the networks around you, it is using this data to track you.
Our phones are jammed packed full of sensors. We may as well all have data probes that just so happens to also act as a smartphone.
My mom was terminally ill. I started seeing ads, a lot of ads everyday about burials, then cremation, then the actual cremation company she used. She died and I haven’t seen that type of ad since. They are listening.
It’s worse than that, they listen to both your biometrics and brain waves (iPhone + Samsung) and algorithms like tik tok use both to pinpoint different responses, honing in on the ones that keep you on the app longer. Seriously try it, think about something specific and tell no one, see how long till it’s in your feed. Heck I started to try to do the “manifest 10 million dollars” thing by thinking about it, farthest I got was my spam folder filling up with different “10 million dollar xyz” and that was my gmail spam folder
Yes Dude! I thought I was the only one!! I don’t even know how they do this. They seriously want people to be on their app for hours, I know it’s worse. It’s terrifying, VERY TERRIFYING
With all due respect brother you are like 9 years late on this post
Lmao, I know this long time ago too haha. Just thought about posting it!
breaking news - water is wet and the sky is blue
Wait, what?!
serious?
This is brand new information!
Of course it is how else could it respond after a touch-free voice prompt if it wasn't listening for the voice prompt
Exactly, it obviously can decipher key words at a minimum otherwise how would Siri or all those smart home speakers like Alexa work?
I've been saying this for years. I was with a friend in a restaurant and we started talking about food we had as kids but couldn't find anymore. I mentioned PB Crisps. Didn't Google anything and neither did he. Later that afternoon a suggested Facebook group in my feed. 'Bring back PB Crisps.'
Yup I did an experiment also
Before going shopping I put on a Spanish talk show on the radio, left the phone on the counter for about 3 hours.
That night my YouTube feed was all Spanish videos.
Amazing 😎
People's phone flash an Infared light spectrum not seen to the naked eyes every few mins. It can be seen on night vision cameras. Not sure why.
Yes always have been for so long, the funny things is if you try to say it out loud to our phone like i need new hiking shoes recommend hiking shoes to me, it pretends dont know and stop recommending that product. Try it
I thought that was confirmed already.
Wasn't Google or zuck forced to confess that at one point? And then the whole thing got cloudy really quick?
Plus, I used to see people talk about targeted ads all the time.
at work a lot of people speak Spanish at home Chinese is spoken I speak neither but get ads in both languages all the time.
I don't even have to speak! Sometime I just think of a matter and TADAAA!!! It's on youtube😭
It makes me feel so uneasy at times but idk how and why🌚
I am in digital marketing and I can confirm this for you. This isn't a huge conspiracy or secret though. As soon as u give an app or Google to access ur mic be it for whatever reason from whatsapp calls to multiplayer gaming to ai voice command, most of them will continue collecting voice data throughout the data except when ur phone is switched off and then sell the data to marketing teams.
Sometimes companies like meta don't use the data for selling but to increase their own marketing database.
For example if you are an adviser selling frozen crab sticks and running a campaign on Facebook ads for the same, and then meta picks up voice information of any user discussing frozen crab sticks they will instantly target the advertiser's ads to that user to increase efficiency.
You might like this book that really goes in depth on the topic. https://www.blinkist.com/en/books/the-age-of-surveillance-capitalism-en . It’s pretty scary and def happening and we willingly allow it.
Yes I noticed it a year ago and noticed it recently when I think of certain things.
It's the same everywhere in the world. It's happened at least 10 times. Once, my boyfriend and I were discussing ovens, but we had never searched for ovens, just had a casual conversation. Then, after a while, when we opened a shopping website, ovens started getting recommended to us.
We know it, but still have a phone. We are addicted
I've even so much as thought of something and POOF it comes up as ads after about 12 hours. It blows my mind that people state phones don't track everything you say or do.
NSA, five eye alliance. Google terms and services. This isn't a conspiracy this is documented facts
One time I was driving to work and listening to a YouTube video, I was at a stop sign scratching my junk and 30 seconds later I got an ad on YouTube for jock itch cream…. That one caught me off guard.
Go into developer mode and turn it off. I did it and I haven't gotten targeted ads in months.
It’s been this way for a while I use to notice my phone would give me headphones it’s trying to connect luckily I’m adhd I can barely keep hold of my thoughts so they won’t be useful for them
No shit. This is common knowlege
They also take an under light photo of you intermittently. To create a 3D model of your environment.
Have confirmed this multiple times. When my friends and I talk about a certain topic while eating together, all of us see similar ads on the topic we just discussed.
I’ve had thoughts that the entire phone experience is tailored to me that my stocks and cryptos prices are only happening to me. And then I realize that is pretty bonkers.
Yes indeed they are. Was talking to my friend about a case and how that person “self cancelled” themselves and Siri asked me it’s a serious matter and would connect me to emergency number. I should note that I have my Siri off on my phone as well
Fun-fact: Samsung even warned us about their own Smart-TVs.
Bro this is like so 23 years ago... ???
You’re just now figuring this out? This isn’t a conspiracy, cell phone companies have already said they’re listening to what we say
Fully believe we are connected through Bluetooth to our device.
When did fact from 20 years ago become a conspiracy again? That's been the norm for years.
Turn off microphone and personalized ads in settings
I've heard it's a tad worse than your phone listening to you...it is actually AI that can predict what you're gonna want to buy/watch.
Essentially it can predict your future...for now it seems limited to ads but if true, who knows what else it can know or be used for?
I was listening to a rogan podcast yesterday in the truck. Joe asks his guy to Google gun rights in some country the next thing I know, my phone gives me the results of that search. I don't have those functions enabled on my phone, but it's definitely listening.
With all the technical expertise in the world I find it surprising that nobody has dug into the source code of these devices to show whether or not they are actually listening to us. For what it’s worth, I think they are but it’s no big conspiracy, it’s just another form of targeted advertising.
"Edward Snow den leaves the chat"
Is this new news to you? This has been clearly documented
NEWS FLASH: your phone listens to you because you agreed to it!
It's more weird when I just think of something but do not verbalize it and do not put it into my phone / internet browser and I still get ads for it
Give the people “bread and a circus” and you shall rule over them like sheep.
Your phone not only passively listens, but your selfie ( screen side camera) passively watches via an IR light “ human eye cannot see it unless looking g through NVGs. It measures your facial expressions based on content you view, your eye movement, blinking and duration in which you view images, gifs, videos feeds etc. Your gps tracks your movements, times and duration on venue. Your photos are meta mined for back ground data, establishing geo tracking to validate your movements daily and with whom. Siri measures voice fluctuations, inflection and even user identity to establish emotions to what is viewed, text, emailed and written. Atop of geo fencing to other home smart appliances such as your smart TV watching you watch it. Your smart fridge tracking your ice cream habit. And you thought this innocent technology was so you could be liked on FB, IG or X and then hook up with a fried with benefits on tinder or grinder. Here is some more bread and tickets to a basket ball game or lil Wayne gig or( you fill in the event)to watch the circus. Bahhhhhhhhh.
It's an old topic, to be honest. I wonder if hacking the phone might stop it, but I haven't looked into that
Yeah I know. Just wanted to talk about it now, if it’s just me or others as well.
I'm considering flashing Graphene OS to this pixel phone. Removes anything Google from Android.
And we are listening to them..
Facebook is the absolute worst. I’m sure there are other apps listening to me as well, but I don’t notice it. Facebook on the other hand, is a weekly occurrence where someone will talk to me about something that I previously have showed no interest in (no online searching, viewing similar things on Facebook, etc.). But I can open Facebook a few hours later and see tons of posts relating to the conversation I had. It’s far too close to be coincidental, and it happens all the time. I revoked access to my photos, mic, and other data but it doesn’t matter. The worst part is that Facebook totally denies spying on us
Talk to someone in IT and they’ll explain it to you. You are on a network, you use social media, it’s all connected. This is where conspiracies are confused with lack of understanding.
With all the experts out there how has no one shown direct evidence? No whistle blowers? It’s just not likely to be a real thing.
I teach a student online and he uses his MacBook for classes. The other day he took his iPhone 14 and held the camera up to the camera on the MacBook. Somehow due to his MacBook camera picking up the blue light from his phone camera, I could see his iPhone camera, which wasn't on, actively scanning as if its recording.
For everyone commenting about these devices seemingly reading your thoughts.
Nope, it is the opposite, you’re consuming subliminal and subconscious cues that direct your thoughts for the moment the advertisement is presented, as if it were your thought that you might like to purchase the product.
Far more disturbing.
You actually mean the millions of datapoints that are held on you by your frequent internet usage knows what games you will like and showed you an advert about it, they know who you interact with and they know that you’re likely to talk about X casual subject and they took a punt and delivered a personalised advert, there have been many experiments to see if phones actually record audio and other than when you’d expect them too, they’re not, or you have Pegasus on your iPhone which I doubt.
Agreed. Had some episodes too. However the first way they gather information is by using the keyboard.
Yes it happens to me quite a bit as well
It’s literally in the terms and conditions of Facebook messenger. They tell you they do it.
you can turn that feature off in settings
I believe that is true.
When’s the last time you logged out of a social media app? We close the app instead, so yes it’s always listening because we allow it.
It is known
Agree…. called my wife while I was running errands, and told her that I was going to Home Depot. Came home, and got on the computer a few hours later. 2 different websites had Home Depot ads within the first 15 minutes I was on the computer. So my phone or my debit card are somehow tied to Google ads?
I’m always asking for lotto numbers around my phone
You give away your privacy as soon as you own a smartphone - known fact at this point imo
Yeah this has been happening since they were invented. I'm just wondering what's the end goal of all these.
One million percent, yes. That and all the permissions you allow (microphone and camera, duh, but also plenty of others).
The weirdest part for me is this: when my phone ISNT around, but conversations I’ve had and stuff spoken about has been relevant on my phone later 👀. Maybe their phone was around and heard and can recognize me? Or maybe they didn’t have their phone I can’t prove that part.
I believe this to be true as well.
They are but who cares?
Thanks to the permissions that we allow while using the apps like FB INSTAGRAM These permissions have access to our audio video and messages.. And ofcourse they sell the information to 3rd party vendors.
Now imagine HOW FAST THIS WORKS..!! AND we are just teeeny tiny bits of raw data scrambled and spread across the universe..
Cheers..!!
For sure they are.
It's q great way to keep TPTB in check.
Just keep tellin em what you'll do to em if they cross the line again w shit like covid
Its a setting in Google. You can delete your recordings.
Do phones also scan the barcodes or QRs of items nearby? When I go out to the store sometimes, I get home and I get ads of that specific product. Weird
Yep. I do some searches on my phone and discuss such items with my partner. He ends up having recommendations to buy such items in his phone without having searched for them… freakiest thing ever!
I was playing a weekly session of D&D with some friends. One of which was playing a Lizard folk character. Her character goes into a tavern and orders a drink called Mud Water. The DM goes on for a few minutes describing the tast of the drink stating that the character can tell what kinds of minerals are in it, thus being able to understand the surrounding lands of the town we were in currently.
The next day, one of the other players, a guy who was playing a totally different character but was sitting next to the DM, had an ad pop up on his Facebook feed for some new drink called Mud Water. It was some kind of coco/herb/mushroom powder in a glass jar that you mix with hot water. He sent us a screenshot of his feed. He doesn't do any nutritional research or eating of that kind, so he never looked it up and can't explain why it was on his feed.
It was the most random, specific, and weirdest thing I've seen on that type of level personally. You can't tell me phones don't listen to what you are saying.
You can block a lot of it. Try de Google your phone, remove it all, and in case of samsung disable bixby too. Dont give other apps access to mic. Btw this is not a theory, this is 100% happening.
Old news..this has been going since the 1st smart phone
The other night one of the boys was talking about how he LOVES women with big vagina. I kind of looked at him odd but thought nothing of it.
That night when I went home for a wank… what was being recommended? ‘Big pussy’ porn… something I had never end so much as said let alone looked up…
There phones now that shows if the app are using your mics. Disable them. Not sure about keyboard because some trackers use keyboard and your searches.
New to this realm huh? You’re in one for hell of a ride…
Here! Take these shades 🕶️ You’ll find them very useful, You got enough bubble gum? Shit don’t tell me you’re out!
Hurry up, we gotta go meet this guy, it’s urgent…. Don’t forget your towel.
Big bada boom….
Oh and I’ll explain the three shells later….
And tracking you, and able to predict what you’ll do before you know it… they know more about you than you know about yourself…
🙀 Pikachu face
This is old news. If you have an old galaxy where they started using "blue light will blink when recording audio" in the settings menu; you can test this out. Go into it and disable the blue light blinking when recording option. When you're able to, monitor the phone periodically and you'll see it blinking the blue light. As far as I know this option was discontinued to show the blinking light. I assume they were always recording keywords tho. I'm aware this isn't the same for all phones, but this was early Alexa days and the last I know of years were maybe 2014ish.
"our phones are listening to us, period" "i definitely do think our phones are listening to us"

You're about 8-9 years too late.
Sorry to tell you this, but you're late to the party on this one and if you've only just noticed, more fool you.
Good on you though!
But this began in 2015/16.
Been known.
Yes, this is a fact and it does happen. I once experienced a similar incident with my brother, we were talking about equipment for home renovation, after that I opened Google and planned to look for a renovation concept, not long after that came out ads recommendation for several brands of home appliances and interior design. We didn't believe such things when other people told us, we thought they were fantasizing or making up stories. After this incident and several others, we realized that this is real and we need to be more vigilant.
If you want to talk about sensitive or private matters, it's better to put away anything electronic / smartphone / anything that can connect to the internet.
They have applications to where you can install it and turn off the microphone completely. You have to go in and turn it back on. But yes you are right they are listening to us all the time. And you have agreed to allow them to access all your information on your phone most of the time when you sign up for free apps
Time for a Reddit experiment. I think we should all arrange a particular time of day. Adjust it to what ever your local time. So we all synchronised. Have your phone on & nearby. Think of one obscure thing. Then see what occurs. I propose 7pm ET USA. On Wednesday 20 March 2024. Please adjust for your local time Reddit world.
They are designed to detect words like "ok google" and "siri" ...of course it hears every word.
Yes you can see this alot with snapchat spotlight. I really wonder how their algorithm works.
Does this happen while the internet is on or off ?
My cousin did this. He started talking about wanting a Mercedes Benz. He didn’t look anything up, he just talked about one morning. That evening his feed was full of Mercedes Benz content.
Old news.
hasn’t this been confirmed?
There’s this thing called a social graph. If your friend then searched for the game or even typed it into some keyboards ads will come up for you but not because the phone is listening
Yeah this is true, another thing that happens is you might be talking to someone and discussing another person right, then all of a sudden when you back home and open up facebook the person you just talked about it a friend suggestion. Weird world😂
I’ve got a friend who is corporate level at Walmart and he told me that their app watches and listens to everything you do on your phone. He said it’s designed like that to cater to the individual and their shopping “needs”. In other words, we’re all being surveilled in an effort to sell us everything we could want but not need. There are no coincidences.
It’s crazy that this topic is still presented as a novel idea every other week on this sub
It’s not just audio, I have 3 different videos showing my iPhone turned OFF, charging on a bookshelf 5-6 ft away from everyone, before somehow turning ITSELF back on after 5-10 min of no one even approaching nearby. I’m not a tech wiz, so no idea how, but prior to experiencing it, I would have argued “that stuff doesn’t really happen”.
