RIP Sheldon
Geriatric Sheldon.
Sheldon’s Conception: Trying for a Genius (baby)
I’d see that
I've seen many iterations of that too. But they never show the postive pregnancy results, always leaving it on a cliffhanger so I gotta search for more of them
Lots of times they don't even do it right!

I'm still holding out for Middle-Aged Sheldon.
Honestly an "old Sheldon" has the potential to be fucking hilarious.
The problem is it wouldn't make sense without more advanced technology from what would be the future of the time period when he's actually old.
But I mean a Sheldon having memory issues and not being able to keep up with what will then be modern technology? Heck yeah that could be funny.
Won't be so funny for the current younger audience that would be going through the same shit though.... and the current older audience will mostly be dead by then.
I know CBS needs to increase their appeal to younger audiences, but something tells me their plan for a pilot filmed entirely in utero in not the solution.
Fucking love In Utero!
It’s their best album! 🤘
My older cousin tried to get me to buy Dookie instead of In Utero when I was in 3rd grade, '93. I'm so glad I got In Utero. It is the best Nirvana album
kinda apples to oranges but Dookie is arguably the best album of 1994
Dookie is a fantastic album too though
It's not even as boring premise at first brush because he's a twin
"I'm never going back in one of those again. "
I heard once they were planning a spinoff based on Georgie and Mandy but that was probably just a rumor.
Edit: I was wrong, it's an actual upcoming show. That's cool.
It’s real
The kid that plays Georgie looks more like a young Jerry O’Connell than young Jerry O’Connell did
I really can't wait for Ovum Sheldon and it's spinoff Spermatozoon Sheldon.
You're not far off, the new spinoff is apparently about Georgie, Mandy, and their baby.
Personally, I don't see the new spinoff working. Sheldon should not be present because as was explained in The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon basically disappeared when he went to college and his brother, Georgie, stopped talking to him. So no Sheldon and no dad, and the dad was a big part of Young Sheldon.
Right, Sheldon is confirmed not to be a part of this spinoff. But I assume the network thinks based on their market research that people really like Georgie and Mandy (and Meemaw) enough to watch a Sheldon-less show. We'll see how episode 1 ratings are if the show even airs.
So were doing a spin off of a spin off and the new spij off wont even have ant characyers from the original show in any capacoty. Do they know they can make original shows?
Original shows? What are those?
Also, I'd watch anything with Annie Potts (Meemaw) in it, but I could take or leave George and Mandy.
Egg Sheldon
Fetus Sheldon
Womb Sheldon.

Plans are in place to
Begin the taping of the
New show Baby Sheldon.
Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.
In the final episode he discovers the citadel of Sheldons allowing for infinite Sheldon shows.
I hate young sheldon but Id watch the shit out of the sheldonverse
Not looking forward to the 'discourse' when people argue about whether Shelley Stacy or Melvin Morales really 'count' as Sheldons.
Rick and Morty only it’s BBT Sheldon and young Sheldon

Solving crimes?
Causing crimes
Ok I understand doing crimes, committing crimes etc.
But you specifically chose the word ‘causing’ and it compels me to ask how one exclusively causes crimes without directly committing them
Inciting a riot?
Maybe talking people into committing crime.
"he cheated on you? You should stab him."
"that person cut you off in traffic? You should force them off to road."
"I heard that business is a front for drugs, why dont you burn it down?"
Maybe he sets up little annoyances that cause people commit crimes, either accidently or on purpose. Like a human rube Goldberg machine

All the while a laugh track plays
On TBBT maybe, but no laugh track on Young Sheldon.
Just gonna say it Young Sheldon is leaps and bounds better than The Big Bang Theory. Funnier, better characters, no laugh track, even filmed better.
I watched a couple episodes of BBT when it was popular, and felt like it was laughing at me more than it was laughing with me, so I quickly lost interest and never saw much indicating otherwise. I caught a couple clips of Young Sheldon and wondered what show this was, looked into a bit more, and I... don't hate it?
I find the titular character far more relatable, although his adult counterpart is the obvious parallel to myself. (If quite a lot more accomplished, as MCs tend to be when compared to randos...)
I’ve seen some clips of it.
People give it shit, but it honestly seems kinda nice. It’s not something I’d personally watch but it looks leaps and bounds above the big bang theory
TBF, The show is quite literally just Everyone Hates Chris but a white Family in Texas. The archetypes for the main family is the EXACT same as EHC. Now that’s one of my favorite comedy shows of all time so more of that?? Fuck yes. It’s perfect for what it is.
My dad loves both of those shows. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him laugh as hard as the “big piece of chicken” scene in that episode of EHC.
Yeah, that show is genuinely funny.
I've never seen an actual episode of young sheldom, but I've seen like 5 minute segments and stuff and I have to say, no laugh track and some things are genuinly funny, plus it seems to have an actual plot going instead of just a usual episodic sitcom
I mean the show is quite literally just white people Everyone Hates Chris which only lasted 4 seasons 20 years ago. It’s an insanely good format that works really well and isn’t oversaturated. (Though Tbf Mixed-ish tried this same format like 2 years ago and it was super cringy, but that was just on the writing)
The finale should be sheldon going to south london and helping bring peace to rival gangs
The finale should be him becoming an animated version of himself and joining the cast of south park
He would get bullied 100%
I'd watch Sheldon wet a load of people.
Those chavs are the backbone of British society.

It's weird because in Young Sheldon you're supposed to take him pretty seriously (and he dresses quite well). He's often the most reasonable and mature character, out-adulting the adults. But in BBT, he's the butt of a lot of jokes and is super cringey and is often portrayed as very immature, and wears superhero t-shirts and stuff. So somewhere in between, he's basically got to lose his identity as a mature kid and gain his identity as a cringey man-child. Where BBT is a comedy and Young Sheldon is a lighthearted coming-of-age sitcom, Teenage Sheldon would be a tragedy.
While Sheldon is some of the worst autistic representation known to man, this happens a lot but usually for reasons of "pressure to mask, and getting rid of that"
My personal experience and with other autistic people I know the "dress really well, act overly former, being mature as possible" phase is an extreme form of masking and trying to seem like youre a normal kid and trying to be seen well. So, you dress well because adults compliment you, act formal because you dont understand a lot of social rules so you follow the ones youre told exactly and try not to break ones you arent, act mature because adults mistake a child being traumatised and terrified of being yelled at for being an old soul and mature"
Then later in life you just....realize it doesnt matter?
People are going to treat you like shit for being yourself, or theyll treat you like shit because youre not acting perfect when you pretend to be normal. You can keep masking and trying to act a respected normal youll never be, or you can just be undeniably yourself. Usually this also takes it to an extreme of just not caring at all so it seems semi like how Sheldon acts
Most autistic people are still terrified of hurting feelings and saying the wrong things and would actually be excited to get people into interests rather than judging people for not, so wouldnt act like a constant asshole about this like Sheldon, but thats beside the point
So for Sheldon itd likely be a case of "people make fun of having an Iron Man shirt and cargo pants I wear on weekends but its comfortable and I like it so Ill have a lot like that. People think its weird for me to have a couple comic pins on my backpack, why not get some figurines or collectables and decorate my office with stuff I like. I like trains and comics, why not learn everything I can about them.and be proud of it"
Sheldon in space.
Sheldon loses his virginity
so the Big Bang Theory.
It...happened in that show.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Sheldon
Oh my god they're going to fucking kill young sheldon
"Evil dies tonight"
But the smell will linger for years.
Time for Old Sheldon now. They'll never stop making Sheldon.
I want to see clone Sheldon high where it's a high school of clones of young Sheldon s and the teachers are clones of older Sheldon and the principal is old Sheldon and the janitor is a deformed clone Sheldon who's test tube got shaken when he was growing causing him to have half a face and 3 arms and 1.25 legs.
Surely the janitor would be in full time care.
They wanted him to live a fulfilling life and therefore got him a job as a janitor part time so he can feel good about the work he does. He's the character arc that pulls at your heartstrings.
If you were a scriptwriter I'd watch your stuff.
They should do a series called Sheldon and it's just Sheldon sitting at a desk alone every episode in silence but sometimes he looks up and says "Atoms" and then a laugh track plays.
I would really like a proper fun with flags series
Young Sheldon didn't have a laugh track
That's why it was so trash. I didn't know when to laugh.
Shhh, this isn't a place for facts, this is a place for people to be weirdly, violently angry that a sitcom they don't like exists.
lol it's so crazy. Reddit is basically just a hate generation machine at this point.
I liked Young Sheldon more than Big Bang Theory. Big Bang Theory just got a bit boring to me I guess, not my sense of humor.
I’ve never watched a full episode of either, but seeing clips of Big bang theory after seeing clips of young Sheldon is pretty jarring. Just entirely different vibes, even the big emotional moments of big bang theory just seem so thin compared to any of the young Sheldon plots.
Young sheldon also dosen't have that overbearing laugh track, the jokes do feel a lot more genuine and less forced, even when they miss.
The Big Bang theory is presented in front of a live audience, and it is not a laugh track. Actors are told to pause to let the live audience laugh at a joke. At least the original set literally has a cutout for the audience and cameras. That is why you see a lot of the same camera angles in the show, and you don't ever see the other side of the room.
At least the original set literally has a cutout for the audience and cameras.
Many sets have this design, but obviously not all have a stand for the audience.
when young Sheldon took his mitten off to hold his dad's hand, I cried a little
when he prayed to the spirit of Blaise Pascal to send a msg to God for him, I cried more
but I'm also an autistic who grew up in the south
Reddit loves to shit on TBBT, which is bad, but Young Sheldon is way better.
Is it a top tier TV show? Yeah, not really.
Is is good enough to be enjoyable? Absolutely.
I never watched big bang theory and I thought sheldon cooper was real life scientist lol
Why did this show happen? Was Shekfon that popular on the show? I remember him being just the worst. The fish out of water thing got old fast.
If you rewatch the show you can clearly see that the show switches up the focus 2 times.
It clearly started with Leonard as the main character. Most stories resolve around him and he has the most screen time.
Then it switches to a multicast main character show as everyone gets similar attention and they are usually put into certain story groups. For example a group of Penny, Amy and Bernadette and then one with the other 4 nerds, or in groups of two’s. Sometimes one of the characters gets a main role in an episode and this switches the next.
At the end they switched to sheldon as main character of the show. 100% due to popularity, I can see his character be the most liked one, its not about personal preference but average preference and TV producer wouldn’t do such a focus switch without data. That sheldon is the main character at the end of the show is shown that the ending of the show is pretty much mainly about him, but before that you can see that most stories have the use to let sheldon grow as a character, moving in with his girlfriend etc.
I am not a die hard fan, but I don’t get the hate of this show, also it’s clearly by data one of the most successful sitcoms ever and in my opinion it’s understandable as they did a good job reinventing their story focus and also having a very chill and low drama atmosphere. It is the perfect show for people to put on to watch by the side lightheartedly.
They also had the main three (Leonard, Sheldon, and Penny-sometimes Amy) get their own A story, and the others (Howard, Raj, Bernadette and Stuart) have a pretty funny B story. I seriously think the episode where they have to put together a baby crib was a backdoor pilot. I'm shocked they didn't do it, a Howard, Raj, and Stuart show, based around the comic book shop could have worked.
The show isn’t about Sheldon but more of his family.
It’s honestly way better than TBBT too.
The show does a more in depth look at him growing up in East Texas and his family dealing with him. Lots of good subplots that are greater than his overarching story
I hated TBBT and only gave YS a chance with much skepticism. If I gave up watching TBBT after a few seasons, YS I have continued to watch over the years (albeit on and off as seasons finished releasing) and never felt like I was wasting my time. It's good fun and not fully focused on Sheldon, instead following many plots related to his actually interesting and often funny family.
I don't get all the hate, this show has heart.
People that hate Young Sheldon are weirder than the people that like it. Most of them have never watched the show and only hate it because the BBT hate circlejerk is strong on reddit. I've never seen it either and never expected it to last this long, but it made it 7 seasons, so clearly not a bad show. I'd assume that Bill Ponderosa's character is probably hilarious.
Bill P is pretty good. He plays his part well, but the true magic is the interactions between all the characters. It is really well written.
It's mostly people that didn't like TBBT and never gave it a chance. I wasn't a fan of Big Bang but YS is pretty good.
My thoughts exactly, I randomly watched an episode and couldn’t believe how much heart it had. The show is way better than people give it credit for, it really is nothing like BBT at all
Big Bang Theory is brain rot, and Sheldon was the worst. This show is just bafflingly stupid. I wanna see a show called dead Sheldon where he’s gone and everyone has forgotten about him and he is never brought up at all except the intro is him dying alone in a hospital making comments about how smart he is and then he dies and goes to hell.
They should beat him to death with hammers
distorted laugh track intensifies
I'm sorry I just started watching this show.
Why does everyone hate this show? There aren't even any laugh tracks
I don’t particularly hate the show, though I’m not a huge fan. I think people dislike it because the characters are all pretty unlikeable across the board with Sheldon by far being the worst of the bunch. When I watched it I found myself actively rooting against literally everyone
🅱️ereavement
Coming this fall to CBS:
Dead Sheldon
BOOzinga!
God damn, it's a TV show not a Uyghur concentration camp.
Sometimes I question why I still use this app after it’s gotten continuously worse every year, and then I come across something like this and I remember why. You made my day, rot in piss Sheldon
To be fair though, unlike TBBT which was brain rot, YS is light years ahead of it. Granted it was mostly due to the characters not named Sheldon but it made a decent show.
Agreed. My wife/son watched through it, and I've seen a few episodes. Sheldon himself is insufferable, but as the show goes on they leaned away from him and developed the other characters more.
I have a deep loathing for BBT, and carried that bias over to YS initially, but it's just a typical competently-done family sitcom.
Yeah, Young Sheldon is actually a good show. It has some great characters.
Sheldon's Mom and his brother Georgie are my favorite.
The child actors are also very good.
“ROT IN PISS SHELDON!”
I like the show. Not because I ever watched it but because my mom really likes the show and not everything has to be made for me.
My wife and I watched it. It’s a pretty decent show and does a good job showing how others handles Sheldon and his annoyance
The writing is good and each character is well done
Yeah exactly. You give a shit about the siblings, parents (especially with the dad’s untimely demise), and meemaw.
They wrote themselves into the corner, especially with the dad character. But I think they’ve made a good recovery
Dang what a sweetie
Unironically great comment, the best in the thread, and its not even a close contest
Honestly, the show seems pretty good. I think all the hate is just holdover from BBT, which is fair, I guess. That show sucked.
It's gotta be. I refused to watch it based on its title alone because of TBBT, only gave it a chance after seeing other people say it was actually good and for once it was.
Honestly for an off shoot of another tv show. It was a solid watch.
It's Shel-done
Guys stop saying Sheldon
Was it any good?
Actually it was. The casting choices were pretty good and the show really had some heart. Made me miss the days when I would sit and watch the wonder years, married with children, mad tv and all the other sitcoms I enjoyed with my now deceased family.
Even though fans of BBT knew what was going to happen to a major cahracter, when it happened on Young Sheldon, it was heart breaking because all of the characters had grown to become beloved.
When is Sheldon Shippuden coming out?
Next up: Sheldon Forever.
He always was, is, and will be.
Young Sheldon lays in the hospital bed, feverish and dying, when it is revealed that the entirety of the Big Bang Theory was all Sheldon's hallucination before his death.
The end. (happy outro music)
finally
But he’s old now, right?
So im up to whatever seasons on Netflix rn. And I can’t lie, I actually think it’s a really good show… and I CANT STAND the Big Bang theory. Honestly a lot of the show is people making fun of Sheldon and he doesn’t even realize lmao. Sheldon isn’t bad for the first few seasons. He’s just a “I don’t give a fuck I do what I want” kid, but once he gets older he gets kinda of annoying (might just be his aging voice lol he didn’t really change much personality wise) but that’s the good thing about this show. I’d say like 40% of it that I’ve seen is actually Sheldon. A lot of it is his family. And they’re pretty funny. They choose good actors imo too. It’s definitely not the greatest show, but it’s a solid watch, and has nothing to do with TBBT thank god. I was a little upset when I found out that pretty much NONE of it was based on his true childhood though.
I didn't know this show was still on. Shouldn't that kid be in high school by now?
I hope they'll make a spin off about Sheldon's early adult years. Will he be able to win the Nobel? Can he find the true love?
Ah. I loved this show so much more than the Big Bang theory. The relationship between him and his memaw is fantastic
Plans are in place to begin the taping of the new show Baby Sheldon.
