You obviously don’t realize that Travis Hunter is like when you used to make a guy all 99s, turn off injury and fatigue, and have him play every snap of the game at the most critical positions.
Broooo this game is really starting to make me wonder, I'm with you, either Deion sent the developers a nice dick pic and they dropped to their knees, or he sent them a nice check, this is the same team that had a losing record last season, correct? Like I look at teams like West Virginia, they have the top or one of the top returning QBs in the country, I think Neal brown just turned in a top 10 class of transfers, I'm not 100% sure, but still, they are nowhere to be found on these list, but Colorado has been on every single one of them. This game is really really starting to make me 2nd guess myself, like my hype balloon for this game has been busted!
From another angle, this says their offense and defense are both very good yet we all know the team isn't. So logically the coaching must really suck to bring them down so far.

Yeah you want to talk about how many unforced fumbles our quarterback had that gave them the win? With how many freshmen we had playing last year this years look to be a very different year. Colorado fell apart after they lost to Oregon. They were never the same they were all hype and when the game was handed to them they lost horribly. Look at the Stanford game!
I genuinely want Colorado to go 0-3 to start and if they win out to finish 9-3, and hell even win the BigXII and get a playoff berth I'd be alright with that... Especially if we play them again and beat them again.
There’s only 5 teams at 90 or above? The two teams who played for the National Championship didn’t even crack the top 10? Fucking Colorado and Utah didn’t even finish ranked
As a Washington fan, we lost our head coach and 90% of our team to the draft and transfer portal including essentially our entire receiving core, DL and OL. We don’t deserve to be ranked in the top 10 this year.
Feels like Michigan should definitely be on here. Always uncertainty when you’re breaking in a new quarterback, but that defense should be top 3 in the country with a couple top ten draft picks, and their office should still have a solid line and explosive weapons in Edwards and Loveland.
I mean, both championship teams lost a lot. Both lost their coaches, starting QB’s, and a lot more. It’s not unreasonable to think they’d fall outside the top 10.
Colorado being that high is nuts though, for sure.
Michigan lost a lot of their offensive personnel. And while we have promising replacements a good chunk of them are unproven so they get speculation ratings at best.
We just need to scratch out Colorado and I'm reasonably happy with the rankings, tbh. Not perfect, but there's not the egregious Colorado glazing happening anymore
I believe Michigan is missing because their offense wasn’t in the top 25 for offense so I don’t think we know their offenses rating for the list. Michigan is perceived to be in a down year after losing a lot of guys including Harbaugh which is probably why they weren’t a top 25 offense.
They did have a team that was absolutely loaded with 4 & 5 year guys last year and a few covid super seniors in there as well. Makes sense that they are ranked low because they are replacing a lot of talent on the field, and a whole bunch of new faces on the coaching staff. Despite all that, it's a crime that Colorado got they rating they did and if they used the same logic then Michigan should be ranked in the top 10 somewhere.
Oregons simple, they replaced Bo Nix with a Top 10 QB from last season, returned 2 of their 3 leading rushers, returning 3 of their leading receivers from last season, 4 of their 5 starting Oline are back, and that’s just offensive, add all the transfers that will contribute especially on defense, their position actually make the most sense.
ND is gonna be really good..? They are returning alot of a top 5 defense and had a top 20 offense by alot of metric withs a bunch of transfers to fill in holes and one of the best OCs.
It’s all dependent on the Michigan and Ohio State games. I think Michigan is beatable this year (and really so is OSU) but they need to win one of those.
Could this just be from the raw player ratings? I didn't think anybody disagreed that Colorado has talent, it's just how they've played/been coached that's been bad
All conventional knowledge is that an OL takes more time to develop and gel than any other position group. Is there any precedent in the transfer era that a transfer infusion has an immediate impact on O-line play? Legitimate question. Certainly hasn't been the case at Nebraska.
I’ve seen it work with one player transferring into an otherwise set offensive line, but when it’s a bunch of guys starting for the first time it’s pretty much always gonna be a mess
You're absolutely right in that the OL is the toughest thing to gel, there's a reason they're generally regarded as the smartest guys on the field, the knowledge and feel factor takes time to develop.
That said, as a fellow Nebraska fan you also know the doctrine of Big Guy Wins.
They might not be in good sync, but I can also see how getting some great recruits will improve their line, at least allowing them to run the ball a little, which they simply could not do last year.
That massive O-lineman we got seems to have meshed pretty well with the team. I think Matt Rhule and his focus on team building, conditioning, confidence building, and Development has been huge. I don’t think there isn’t one thing a coach could look at him and say nah we don’t think that’s a good idea.
Sometimes rankings based on potential can be deceiving. For example, Colorado signed Clemson transfer Zach Owens aka Flapjack who was a high 4 star recruit out of high school. Owens ended up getting very overweight at Clemson his freshman year and when new OL coach Matt Luke challenged him to work harder to lose the weight if he ever wants to see the field, he quit the team and entered the portal.
Last I heard, he was like 80 lbs above what his goal weight for playing would have been. So while its possible he will turn the corner and develop into a good player for Colorado (and I hope he does), it is not looking at all likely that he can be a reliable contributor for them this season.
Colorado literally lost higher rated prospects in the portal but since they were bad this year everyone is acting lol the new guys are the REAL portal talent
They have no talent on OL or defense, it’s not really a coaching issue. The game management can be poor at times but they have serious people on their staff

All the Colorado rankings (top 10 offense, top 20 defense and now top ten overall) are clearly to cause social media interaction and can’t be taken seriously.
I can see it now. A 1-3 Colorado team marches onto the field. Kirk Herbstreit loudly proclaims, “This Buffaloes team is just so talented. Led by their trailblazing coach in this new college football environment of the NIL. Sure, they don’t have a lot to show for it right now. Sure, they’ve only won a game this season, but they have the skill set to compete with anyone in the country. They haven’t actually done it yet, but we will certainly hold our breath for this squad. That’s for sure.”

Yea it’s always gonna be a flawed system when ur trying to cram all the teams into 70-99 & your trying to max revenue with spamming certain teams/fanbases. The game is more of ncaa marketing than creating a realistic version of cfb
I don’t think you have to sacrifice the integrity of the game and reality to get 15 year olds to spam SS and Travis. You can still rate them high and have the rest of the team average/below average
Travis Hunter and Shadeur Sanders inflate the ratings and there are probably plenty of teams that are 87 overall but they put Colorado at 10 to get people talking and get more attention and circulation. It worked exactly as they hoped.
The fact Michigan is behind teams 6-10 is laughable. Will have top 5 defense again. 2-3 first round draft picks on defense still. Will keep them in every game this year.
I mean simply based on this Nebraska should be like #8 because of all the talent and the fact that most of the starters are going to be returning young guys with lots of talent and a highly rated quarterback coming out of highschool.
This is sort of par for the course for EA. Back when I actually played madden, it always seemed like their ratings were based more on hype than reality. They consistently rank players and teams higher because they are popular/ in the news, rather than what you actually see on the field. Makes me wonder if they actually even watch football or if they just get their information exclusively from ESPN/BR
