School celebrity kitten. I know she's been very well fed by students and get a bit chubby, but is she pregnant NOW?? I cannot really tell.
Cat PictureSome cats naturally have nipples like that too, including males. Also, psuedopregnancy can cause it.
What an adorable sleeping baby on the grass.
“The good life”
Food coma
Sleeping melon.
Such a happy fat baby
She could be. Have you taken any pics of her like months ago? Let's see how she changed in the shape. And also, check out her nipples, see if swollen or not.
Well, I just checked it out on my phone and found it was indeed a significant change. Ha...
I love that this is how you find out there's actually 2 different cats.
I became friends with the orange feral campus cat that would only let the security guard that fed him touch him, but for some reason he would come running after me asking for pets. I started to take pictures and noticed his weight fluctuated a lot. turns out they were two different orange cats, Simba and Bartolo. both loved me 🥺
I just want to say that I have always thought that Bartolo is among the best cat names ever. I am jealous that you knew a cat with this name.
When we lived in a townhouse, renters moved into the ground garden unit beneath us and had cat door in their window so their cat could come in and out. Their cat was identical to one of ours, a black and brown tabby. One day our cat went missing and their cat somehow ended up in our guest bedroom. My husband tried to coax it out and it snarled, hissed and tried to scratch him. He pulled his arm back fast and banged it on the bed frame leg and got a nice goose egg hematoma (bruise) on his arm for his troubles. Our cat must have been visiting our neighbor. They realized that they had our cat when their cat came home, lol.
Sounds like you're well on your way to becoming a Disney princess. Maybe one day woodland creatures will do your housework for you!
This happened to me with feral black cats.
We were feeding a black cat and two non-black cats. Got them all neutered with their ears clipped.
A few weeks later I hear something on the front porch late at night. I open our speakeasy window on the front door and see two black cats playing together, one with their ear clipped, the other not.
Okay, so we’d been feeding two black cats the whole time. Whoops. Got that guy neutered too.
Then one day soon after I’m looking at the camera we keep by their food, and notice a black cat whose ear wasn’t clipped… go back and look more closely at past photos and realize we’d been feeding 3 black cats 🤦🏻♀️ Snip, snip for that guy too.
Then not even a week later, a black cat shows up with two kittens. Check the camera, and a black cat with a unclipped ear had been around since the last one we neutered.
So in all likelihood, we’d been feeding 4 black cats the entire time and thought it was just one for about a year 🫠 They just never showed up together!
That was three years ago, and other than that one time on the porch, I have never seen more than one at a time on the camera or elsewhere. Sneaky little voids.
I love this so much. 😂 It’s like some weird catception, spawning a new cat every time you get one neutered. lol
It's a catspericy,
There's probably a posse of orange cats who are in on the knowledge of the school that feeds and loves an orange cat. They have a roster to be the school cat that day.
I have a ginger, Allie, who can't stand anyone but me, and sometimes my sister. One time my sister's grandkids were over, and started yelling at us to come outside and watch them play with Allie. They were so excited that she was letting them pet her and hold her, until I pointed out Allie was still in my window, and this was a completely different cat.
Yeah, sorry for this misunderstanding. And yes, we've got at least 5 orange at our campus and what is surprising is that every orange is very healthy and is fed very well. I'm so happy that students are warmhearted to feed them.
Yep. Look at the feet. That's too big of a white sock on the second cat to be the same cat. The original post shows a kitty with white tips on their toes.
That's so cute in this picture.
Scram ya fucking bot!
I can't believe that worked lmao
This is definitely a different cat than the one in the main pics. Just as adorable though. Amazing pictures OP. Just exquisite
It‘s probably Dad, he’s looking pretty smug.
Maybe a note could be sent home with the kids looking for a foster parent. If there are adult kitties used to being fed and maybe babies coming along I‘d be concerned with summer break coming up.
I definitely need updates. And more pics!
If op can’t tell that this is a different cat (and likely male) than the one they initially posted, I’m wondering if the OG kitty is even brr wrong properly identified as female.
Oranges are more likely to be male, and if you don’t know what to look for, a neutered male who had their entire sacs removed can be mistaken as female. Though cat #2 looks to be an unneutered male given the jowls.
they're really not that much more likely to be female(something like 3:1 male vs female), and it only really applies to pure orange kitties. ops cat, or possibly cats, have white fur as well
That’s a male with those chubby cheeks in this picture. Your picture in the post looks like chunky female. If she’s a stray and not ear tipped she may well be pregnant.
An unneutered male too, because neutered boys don't tend to have chubby cheeks and generally lose them after neutering.
Harry Pawter begs to differ 🤣
Mr Pawter continues to be as exceptional as his namesake, lol.
Those aren’t stud jowls, but what a handsome boy!
He is extra-handsome!
Which means that he'll likely impregnate his sister if they don't get them fixed soon.
Some lose them, some don't, some lose a little bit of their jowls but still have enough cheek-pudge that you can tell they went unneutered for a while.
My cat's jowls aren't as big as when he came to me, but they're definitely still bigger than any other cat I've had and he's been neutered for ~2 years.
I have two neutered boys, both have big old fat cheeks.
Jowls are a secondary sex characteristic in male cats, so they’re more of a thing in uncastrated males. Just like male humans tend to have more body hair but a woman could have a lot.
Same here. My former feral was neutered as an adult and still has fluffy cheeks. Vet said he's healthy weight.
Stud jowls are different than “fat” cheeks or furry/poofy cheeks. They have a very distinct look and feel.
Source: sister runs a massive rescue and I’m around dozens of different cats weekly 🙃
Yep, those chubby cheeks definitely show that's a male cat.
Ear tipped?
In some areas where they have trap, neuter, release programs they remove the tip of the cat’s ear to indicate they have been fixed.
My cat is female an has these cheeks, too...
Just like with humans, sex differences don't necessarily apply to 100% of cats. Facial hair is a male trait in humans, for example, but that doesn't mean there are zero women with facial hair. When you see a cat with big cheeks/jowls like this, it's a safe bet to assume it's a male, though doesn't mean females can't have big cheeks too.
That’s not the same cat as the one in the post. Their front paws and faces have different markings.
That's not the same cat.. Look closer at the faces. This one also looks more like a male, but I could be wrong
guess we know who got her pregnant... the kittens are going to be very orange
Oh man. More oranges to share the brain cell.
Thank god they decided to call a school their home. They don't want their kids to have to share the brain cell like they have to. Good parents.
There already wasn’t enough brain cell to go around!
🤣
That other cat knows as well, judging by his expression 😂
Orange kittens are the best! 🥰
And likely some girl gingers too! Which is rare. Yay ginger parents.
20% of gingers are girls
Hopefully they're not related. 😬
Yeah, the front paw color is different, less white on recent one
And the face! The cat in grass doesn't have white outline on face. Congrats you have at least* 2 campus cats.
OP, since you can't tell oranges apart, there might be dozens of them. Dozens!
Thousands! Millions, even!
Also the orange stripe on the right cheek "connects" to the nose in the OP, but there's a circle of white fur around the nose in this one
You’re right, look at the white markings on the front feet of each cat.
I think you’re right- definitely tom energy from this one
I dont think thats the same cat haha
i would die for her
that's a different cat; looks like a tom and if you look closely there are some differences in fur pattern
you’re absolutely right and i would die for him
This picture alone cures my long-life depression. Thank you OP
What a smiling kitty
This is a male cat. Wide cheeks.
Lol look at the faces, the right paw. Those are definitely different cats. The white sock in her paw is way bigger here than with the cat that lays on its back. Same for the face
Those are big old tomcat cheeks. I just want to give him double scritches.
If there was an encyclopedia of emotions, I would expect this picture to appear under Joy. Because that’s what I feel looking at this photo.
That's a male cat look at them face rolls.
...I also think kitty above is pregnant. She's just too thicc.
Kitty #1 is impossible to discern in terms of pregnancy without seeing her standing to see if her neck and arms are proportionally smaller, and whether her belly protrudes from the sides. Could just be an abuse cat (male or female) from those photos.
As other have said, different cat.
The fatty fatty 2x4 cat has white toes only, the other cat has white that extends further up the leg.
That's so cuteeeeeeee :7971:
Let's see them nipples!!!!
Most women don't like when I stare at their nipples to see if they're pregnant. Well hell, I'm not gonna give up my subway seat if their nipples aren't pregnancy-engorged! 😂
It would be so funny finding out it's a "he" and it's having a "food pregnancy" belly lolz Edit:wow thanks for the award fellows 🍻 cheers
Once, I was at work, and my husband texts me about a pregnant cat he found and brought home. I get home and it’s a giant intact orange boy that lived next door
lifts tail
locks eyes with a thousand yard stare
You recognize these?....
I work in vet med so it’s even funnier/more mortifying. Long live Cheeto, hopefully you’re neutered by now buddy
Aww your husband was so proud 😆 I’m picturing him lovingly holding this big fat cat that he’s put a little pink bonnet on, as the cat burps so loud that the windows shake lol and his “pregnant” belly deflates lol
As a man, did he not recognise the “equipment”?
I don’t think he looked for them. My guess is he just was like “fat cat needs safety” and told himself normal cats aren’t that fat so clearly pregnant lol
Lmao that’s exactly what one of our neighbors said when she “found” our cat! Granted our cat was female but if she had actually bothered to look she would’ve found the very noticeable spayed tattoo.
But she literally said the level of fat was not normal and therefore just had to be pregnant. And she thought our cat was deathly ill so she “quarantined” her in the house to “save” her and her unborn babies.
Nope. She was just fat, elderly and very asthmatic. Wasn’t until almost two weeks later when grandpa was walking around still looking for her and calling her name did he spot her in the neighbors window yowling to be let out.
Poor kitty 🐱
I had a coworker who ended up with what he thought was a stray female cat who was pregnant, but was actually just a very fat male cat. They kept the original name Mimi, which caused no end of confusion.
Speaking of…our boy/girl twins had a lovely afterschool “science” teacher who gave them brother/sister baby guinea pigs for their bday (they begged me). The science teacher had sexed them and our daughter named the girl Ann” and our son named his Herbert. Herbert grew bigger than Ann and soon had 5 babies. 😊
Many years ago my niece had a guinea pig, a male she named Bruce (after Bruce Willis). They soon added another male. All was good until Bruce gave birth. I jokingly suggested renaming Bruce to Brucelina and the name stuck. She was Brucelina for the rest of her life.
We had two male guinea pigs. After a while my daughter told me that one was taking “brotherly love “ a bit too far. That’s was a sweet way to put it. Needless to say they both had to be neutered, £86! That was the late nineties.
That reminds me when I had two male pet rats, Nicodemus and Scabbers. Never name a rat Scabbers; they're never what you think... Suddenly had a bunch of baby rats too
My boyfriend and his ex once bought four female rats and were told they’d only been housed with other females.
Turns out that all four were pregnant and four rats quickly became 24 🫠
Ha! I frequently say I have a food baby after just smashing a bunch of food.
A sweet little infant curled up on the grass.
That's what I call it, sure. But my fiancee says I should stop crapping in the garden because the lawnmower thows it everywhere.
He just hates Mondays, that's all.
It being an orange cat means there's something like an 80% chance of this being the case
Garfield
90% of orange cats are he's so the odds are good
Oh, to be chubby cat sleeping on the grass under the sun.
me after i smoked too much weed and ate the entire fridge by accident
not me who actually has a full sized fridge in my room
What show is this from?
Durarara!!
Same
i had to remove the mini fridge we had in our den outside our bedroom. four too many times i woke up on the couch with food or drinks in my hands. i would high sleep walk out there and sit and eat half of a bunch of stuff and zoink back out.
by accident
Like a lil fairy in the grass 🥹🩷
Round and so beautiful!
Check her nipples, if they're a bit swollen, like grains of rice, shes pregnant. Good luck, enjoy
Yeah, nips should be very visible. I don’t see any in that belly pic.
Serious question, how quickly does it take for the nipples to become like rice after pregnancy?
About 2 weeks into the pregnancy, it's the 1st visible sign.
It’s actually entering week 3 that the nipples begin “pinking”.
Near enough, I've had cats and kittens for 50yrs but never timed it precisely
Do they go back to normal after? We adopted a cat in February- she’s spayed and indoor only but her nipples are bigger than normal so I was wondering if that could mean she had a litter in the past.
Yes they normally flatten and empty soon after the kittens are weaned
My cat has weirdly big nipples and I'm certain she's never had a litter. I guess cats can just have different sized nips like people can lol
It's a learning curve but you've got lots of love and fun in your future. My lot says hey.
I literally cannot tell the cats apart from that photo. 3 adula? They're all so cute and blend together.
There's three there, nearest is ninja, next is boris her granddad and furthest is boots, ninjas mum.
And ginghis Khan, ninjas older sister
Has anyone made an effort to get the cats sterilized?
This comment needs to be higher
OP if you can trap and release (TNR) please do so or it will become an endless more expensive problem.
Or better yet find a permanent indoor home for him or her.
edit: And have them fixed🙂
This right here. If you don’t. They’ll keep breeding. Forever.
I wish it were normalized that taking care of means to spay/neuter. Everyone thinks they're doing the lords work as long as they set out food.. All they're doing is making an inviting place to create an overpopulated colony and piss off the neighbors.
I work at a university, and the vice president pays for food that a retired custodian sets out all over campus every single day. The university is right next to a wildlife refuge, so she inadvertently feeds raccoons, coyotes, etc. Not only are they contributing to overpopulation of feral cats, but the coyotes and raccoons also occasionally kill the cats and leave half eaten carcasses laying around. They think they're doing the lord's work.
Reminds me of that "..it sounds more like you're feeding your pet coyote" text.
Edit, found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/technicallythetruth/comments/y6h43p/what_the_guy_actually_has_is_a_pet_coyote/
I hate them and don't even know them.
Are they open to TNR educatiom???
This is bad for wildlife too, as it makes them more dependent on humans for survival, as well as habitualizes them to human spaces when a healthy fear of humans is crucial to their survival.
And kill all the wildlife (I love cats, but outdoor cats absolutely annihilate wildlife populations)
Yep, cats need to be indoor or in safe spaces like catios.
What a butterball.
She is not pregnant, she is just a fat fuck. I can recognize fat fucks anywhere, I'm one of them.
Are you sure it’s a girl?
80% of orange cats are male so he could be a neutered male. I see the nipples still have hair around them and if it were female & that far along I would expect to start seeing that particular sign for sure. A pregnant cat that big would be close to giving birth.
If she is make sure she gets spayed!!
If she isn’t, make sure she gets spayed! If she’s a he, make sure he gets neutered!
I bet that kitty is a just a well fed dude.
Not well fed. Overfed at severe risk to its health.
"When is the baby due?"
"Nope." *Slaps belly* "Food baby."
*Slaps belly*
"This bad boy can fit so many treats inside"
What a cutie! I don't see any prominent nipples in the pic so I would guess she's just obese. I know it will be difficult enforcing children at school not to overfeed her but if you can, please get her on a diet and try to put information out for the kids that obesity is a very serious health issue for kitties and that it's harming her to feed her too many treats or other food no matter how cute she is when she asks.
This. It's a great moment to teach the kids about responsibility towards animals. Making sure she is spayed is also a good idea.
We have problems when I work convincing adult students to not feed the cats… never mind the teenagers
That angle can also just make a cat look really fat when they aren't. For example, here's my cat who is at a completely healthy weight for his size yet looks like he's huge in this photo
I don't see any swollen nipples so I think not pregnant just chonk. ❤️
Very likely if no one stepped up to TNR this poor car
Well, don’t ask her if she is. Cats find that very offensive
As others have said, it definitely is two different cats. Also OP, most orange cats are male. Only ~20% of orange cats are female.
Only one way to find out for sure, get that cat to the vet to get checked out.
So Adorable !
Looking like yes but also possible school’s kitchen provides good food☺️
Someone needs to make sure kitty is spayed/neutered. It’s hard to tell from the photos but it just looks fat. I don’t see the mammary glands swollen.
If she is pregnant, these are her maternity photos
Chubby?? Try morbidly obese. Poor girl needs a diet
Looks like my boy, he loves food too
Yeah, that's definitely fat. Its spread through the body, not more "concentrated" where the uterus is. Also the students need to stop overfeeding her- or feeding her in general. A rescue should probably take her in.
Or at least TNR her and organize the feeding/caring for by the students.
Yes! You could easily turn this into a learning situation on proper cat care!
god i wish that was me rn
If she isn't fixed, yeah probably. It's kitten season.
If she’s preg she will need a proper home for her and the babies and spayed. She’s aooo cute
I'd stick my face in that fluff so fast.
My dude was sleeping like that last night. Hes not pregnant though.
Is she spayed? If no, then either she's pregnant now or she soon will be. Get her spayed.
Please make sure the cats fixed. And keep it inside
Cats have ‘U-shaped’ uteruses. If she is pregnant, she’ll have very noticeable bulges on both sides instead of just a big round belly. But she needs to be standing to see. Also, are you sure she’s female? Genetics dictates that the majority of red cats are male.
trap! that! baby! haul her in for a fixing if she's not already full of kittens. it'll make her live longer and the local bird population will thank you.
It's trying to contact other brain cells in the area. Also looks like me.
fresh watermelon
I cant believe I work 8 hours a day to achieve what this lousy adorable freeloader does effortlessly.
Orange cats are usually boys, are you sure she’s a she? Either way, if she’s a stray she should be taken to the vet to be spayed, even if she is pregnant which is also good to know. You don’t have to pay for a stray spay/neuter you just take them in. It’s the very least you can do. We have too many cats and not enough homes, we should be spaying and neutering as many strays as we can
No, just looks morbidly obese.
Probably not. 80% of orange cats are male! But I’d personally TNR to get him/her fixed (or just adopt!)
“Right now they’re inside learning math or something. While I’m out here in the field. Resting like a papaya, living the good life.”
Looks pregnant. Fat is everywhere, whereas pregnant is localized. She could be both.
Please take him or her in to vet and keep or a rescue especially if pregnant
Teach proper cat care, please. Fat is not funny, it's unhealthy. A loose cat is a dead or injured cat. Someone must take responsibility for him.
That’s an older chonky boy by the look of it. ❤️
I don’t know, but I DO know kitteh is hella cute.
def obese. cats have a delicate gi tract and should also not eat any human food as it has way too many additives. best not to feed him/let that be done by caretakers
One orange and very well fed brain cell.
You might want to feel the belly and see if there’s anything moving around in there
Look at that fat head. Looks like a boy
It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but usually, they kind of bulge out in the middle and the rest of them appears normal. She seems to be pretty "fluffy" all over, so maybe just a happy kitty who loves her food. As others have mentioned, you can check her nipples, but they don't change until late stages. The hair around the nipple recedes, and you will see a ring of pink skin around it. Google it to see pics of what to look for and the timing.
BTW she's adorable.
