I’m genuinely curious how you (or the person you linked) think we will make progress in a representative democracy without voting for the candidates that have the best shot of furthering the goals you value. It sucks that our system is so far from a true multicultural democracy, but how else do we make progress? Even a bloody revolution is far from a guarantee of progress, because - unless you plan to get everyone on board at the end of a gun in perpetuity - we will still need to do the work to win over majority opinions. This country has come a long way since inception, but it has always been, and will always be, hard work because there aren’t shortcuts in democracies as there are in autocracies.
